Chapter 2 - Desert Island

Chapter 2 - Desert Island

Sunny blue skies, warm calming breeze, a small sandy beach which sits isolated in a vast open ocean. At the center of the island stands a man ontop a rock with two backpacks at his feet.

"Wow, haha, this is amazing! I really made an island, I actually did it. This is too unreal it's like a dream, it could be a dream, I could of died on my boat on gone to heaven."

*Grumble*

Nathan held his stomach.

"Haha, I guess that proves i'm not dead yet, I haven't eat for a while."

Nathan jumps off the rock onto the soft sandy beach, and spun around a few time arms wide enjoying the feeling.

After he had his fun he went over to the rock and reached for the smaller of the two backpacks, sat down on the sand and opened it up. A couple different foods were pulled out, some were preserved in cans, bags, or containers while others were still in a packet.

"Well i guess I should eat what goes off first as i don't know how long I will be without getting any other food, I wonder if there will be fish around here?"

After a while off eating quietly while enjoying the view he stood up and walked back to the rock.

As he tried to pick up the Island Seed again he noticed this time it was stuck, as he tried pulling harder it didnt budge. Nathan wasn't sure what was going on but it still had a light glow like before, it was then he realised he felt something strange, he felt a small amount of energy coming off from the Seed and entering his body.

"Huh, I wonder if it still have power even though I'm not holding the Seed?"

He thought to himself that he wanted to use the energy and it drew from his body and entered his hands lighting them up in golden energy just as it did before.

An idea popped into his head about what to do, he stretched and raised them up like he did before, increasing the size of the island by pulling more out of the water. Once he was happy he stopped and drew his hands close to the ground, this time the golden energy entered the earth and something new happened. The sand around him started to change, slowly turned brown changing its texture expanding around him while also starting to expand from the small rock as well, the sand had turned into soil. But it didn't stop there as grass started to sprout from the dirt sparsely making patches of grass across the soil.

Once that was completed he stood up looking at his work, he felt like he only had a little bit of energy left but he knew what to do with it. Nathan walked over to three different spots in the soil each time making a small ball of energy and placing it beneath the soil, he stood back as he was excited.

Slowly but surley, three palm trees sprouted from the ground and started growing at a amazing speed until they slowly stopped growing and stood still.

"Now this is what I call an Island! It's my very own desert Island."

Amongst the waves softly washing on shore, the rustling of leaves could now be heard. The trees projected a light shadow on the ground making a nice shaded area which almost seemed perfect for a nap, Nathan walked over to one of the trees leaning agaist he closed his eyes and let his worries wash away.

Looking at him now, who would of thought he almost just drowned a short while ago and think he is stranded. He didn't panick, although it can't be said he wasn't a little worried, from the knowlege he gained he knew what the Island Seed's power could help him survive the current situation, and since there was nothing to do whilst waiting for his power to recharge, he relaxed.

Nathan awoke up refreshed and he felt like he was full of energy from the Island seed.

"Maybe it recharges faster when sleeping? I'll have to try it out more."

Although there were now grass and trees on the island it was still not somewhere something could survive easily, there was no food or drinking water.

He then got to work, slowly making the island larger adding more land, more soil and more trees. As time passed the sand also started mizing with the soil as the wind blew through.

With more land comes a larger variety, small plants and trees started to grow as well as shrubs and tall grass, it was now feeling a little more wild.

Slowly the sun was setting and an orange hue filled the sky, before daylight ended he wanted to make what no desert island could do without.

Although it could not be made with the power of the Island Seed there were now plenty of resources to use to make what he needed and quickly got to work as he gathered the things he needed and got to work.

As the sun had almost set it was that he was finished, Nathan took a few steps back and opened his arms.

"There! Now it's complete! No desert Island can go without a hamock!"

As he said proudly look at a rather nicely made hamock held up between two trees. He couldn't wait to try it as walked over and unsteadily got into the hamock.

"Although it's akward getting into, this is quite nice. I could get used to this."

He rested for but a moment as he still had work to do, although he was still able to see, darkness was upon him, he needed to make a fire.

Luckily since he gathered wood from earlier he already had a small stockpile ready to be used and since he had matches in his backpack that was now fully dry, with a bit of effort a fire was made with ease.

He poked some holes in a can of food and placed on the fire, he really thought he was quite fortunate from what had happened. He was close to death and now he has gained a power making it easy for him to survive, albeit isolated and alone.

He ate the canned food and built the fire up as high as he could without risk of something catching fire and sat in his hamock, slowly drifting away feeling the warmth of the fire.
