During the past couple of weeks.
After waking up once again inside that familiar and at the same time unfamiliar room, Rakin didn’t do anything other than familiarizing himself with his new surroundings, but most of the time, he would just stare blankly into the distance from the window of his own home, a small hut.
It was because he still couldn’t accept his current circumstances of suddenly waking up in another era and being forced to start living here.
And what really bothers him the most is that there’s no electricity, no internet, and most importantly of all, and as a man of culture, there’s no woman to get laid with, and the most disheartening thing is that there’s no porn to watch!
Nighttime, almost everyone is already sleeping with a few still awake acting as a night watch for the village tonight. The village’s only source of light is the light reflecting from the moon and the few torches spread around the perimeter and inside of the village.
Rakin was still awake, staring at the ceiling deep into his thoughts.
‘Just what is my purpose here? Do I really have no choice but to live and adapt with the current living conditions?’
Those have been his recurring thoughts lately, questions that keep popping up inside his mind during the past few nights like buzzing flies that wouldn’t just go away.
‘And my tribe is currently at war with another tribe, which is really f*cked up. Who would even want to live in a land that’s in a state of war? War is scary, it isn’t something to joke around’
Still, fortunately for him, even though their tribe isn’t that big as they only have around fifty seven people while the tribe they were at war with only has a population of around seventy or eighty people, and theirs is considered a village with a lot of powerful warriors, which prevents the two sides from engaging in life or death battles unless they were really forced to do so.
After all, the only reason that the two tribes were at war with was because of a disagreement over a fertile land...which is weird and stupid in Rakin’s eyes because every land he had seen so far are fertile!
He had been moving around and saw that the surrounding lands were bustling with life!
He really wants to yell at them and tell them that there’s literally hundreds of mountains and hills they could pick from as far as his eyes could see!
A bunch of unreasonable dumbass*s!
Anyone with a bit of a brain would quickly realized that the two tribes are just fighting for their stupid pride and honor!
Pride and honor can’t f*cking feed you!
Instead, it only brings death and destruction!
But what can he do? He doesn’t understand how their mind works because he’s a modern man, and another problem is that he had just gotten promoted from being a spineless coward into a great warrior!

‘Great warrior, my as*! This bastard died from slipping on the rocks! The tigris, tiger or whatever they call it probably didn’t eat him because of how cowardly he died! Still, respect, huge respect in saving those kids!’
Slipping on a rock and dying would be like how Neo was busy dodging those bullets and suddenly slips and dies!
‘Still, they could have at least sent me into the future instead of here’
Rakin sighed helplessly, because what can he do? Even if keeps complaining, and throws curses at anyone or whatever god he wants to curse at.
In the end, it's already a done deal, he can only grudgingly accept his fate.
The next day, and as usual, Rakin was woken up by the crowing of the roosters.
Tiktilaok~! Tiktilaok~!
“Damn roosters, it’s still f*cking early”
Rakin slowly opened his eyes and started cursing under his breath, something he had been doing the past few days because he kept getting up so early in the morning when the sun was barely visible in the horizon.
But with no other choice, he slowly got up from his rattan mattress that the women of the tribe had weaved.
And there wasn’t just a rattan because there’s also a couple of woven leathers on top of it to make sleeping gentler on the back.
Rakin slowly walked down the wooden stairs while scratching his body, and stood before a jar covered with a lid.
He took a coconut water scoop hanging from his hut’s floor beam and opened the jar containing water he had stored yesterday before he had dinner and started gargling with the water he had scooped up using the coconut shell made scooper.
After that, he started stretching his body for the day, and then he went back inside his hut and grabbed a Kampilan he had asked his father before, which made his old man dumbfounded and happy at the same time because his son is finally willing to wield a weapon.
With a weapon in one hand and a banana on the other, Rakin started walking as he greeted the people bumped along the way while munching on the fruit in his hand, and with every passing second, the land slowly became brighter with rising sun, and when he arrived at a small clearing in the middle the forest, it was already little bit bright, bright enough to chase away any ghosts and whatnot.
This place was something he had discovered while walking around in curiosity a few days ago and decided to make this place his training ground of sort as it was a little remote, and a little far away from the usual paths that the warriors or hunters takes when they went out to hunt, even the women who forage for food in the forest rarely makes their way over to where he is as there are only a couple of edible plants around.
In fact, there’s not even a path for people to traverse through, not until Rakin’s appearance.
Rakin drew his Kampilan from its sheath and started practicing like he always did, and it wasn’t just a normal sword practice because he was imagining that his weapon is actually a katana!
When he first started, Rakin was only practicing the proper stance and balance, and soon after, foot work along with the basic strikes of kendo.
Learning kendo isn’t easy even if you have read and watched every kendo instructions there is on the internet, but Rakin was able to do it because he had realized, or more accurately, noticed, that he had an edge that could help him survive in this perilous world!
“At least they weren’t so unreasonable as to leave me with nothing,” mumbled Rakin with a smile on his face.
It was because when he had started training, he actually discovered that he could remember everything that he saw and learned during his stay on modern Earth, like a photographic memory!
A near accurate description would be that his brain had become like an Encyclopedia Britannica or Scholarpedia.
Every memory was so clear that he could even remember the tiniest detail, and as someone who feels threatened with his current living condition, he didn’t even question it.
After all, only a dumbas* would still question how it came to be when his existence in this era is already a question in the realm of unanswered questions that will never be answered no matter how much he thinks about it.
So he’d rather take advantage of it and use it to the fullest with no hesitation, even if it meant changing history!
So what if he changes history?
He doesn’t care!
He’s not even sure if it’s still the same world he lived in or a parallel world!
His very existence had already changed the course of history, be it a parallel world or not!
“Kukuku, my existence here had f*ck up history. Maybe, it had even branched out into another timeline and the thought of it is already making me shiver in excitement!”
Rakin let out an evil laugh while rubbing his palms.
SFX: Evil Laughter Intensifies!
“Mwahahaha!”
Meanwhile, Rakin failed to notice three kids secretly watching him with their heads just poking out from over the brushes, and when they saw and heard Rakin’s evil laugh.
They just looked at each other in confusion, and shrugged their shoulders because they don’t know what his laugh implies.
They just think…
“I think he’s gone crazy,” said one of the kids like it was already a matter of fact.
