Chapter 20/25

Zane flopped onto a flat rock near the fire pit, like he had just finished the hardest quest ever. “Oh great, back at our five-star campsite. I’m so thrilled.” He stretched out, voice full of sarcasm. “Wasn’t this supposed to be easy? Catching these things felt like running a marathon. Uphill. Both ways.”

Lyra twirled into camp, spinning like she was in some kind of magic show. “Oh, come on! You can’t tell me that wasn’t amazing! The thrill! The rush! It was so awesome!” She held her CaptureCube high like a trophy.

Zane rolled his eyes. “Awesome is one word. Exhausting is another.” He gave her a look, half-amused. “Seriously, where do you get all this energy? Do you have a secret stash somewhere?”

Lyra laughed. “Oh, Zane, life’s too short not to live it big!”

Darius unhooked his gear. “The MagicBeasts we caught have special skills. This is a strong start.” His voice was flat, but there was just a hint of pride.

LoreKeeper floated above a stump. “Sweetie, ‘good start?’ This is the stuff of legends! But... we might need a little more drama, don’t you think?”

Lyra’s eyes lit up like someone just handed her a free pass to cause trouble. “Drama? Now we’re talking! Let’s release the MagicBeasts and see what happens. My BloomBounce and Zane’s MiningMole? Totally gonna be best friends!’”

Darius raised an eyebrow. “They are partners for our tasks, not toys.”

Lyra waved him off. “Relax, Darius. They need to bond! How else will they work together?” She was already reaching for her CaptureCube, not waiting for anyone’s permission.

Zane groaned, folding his arms behind his head. “As long as they don’t turn this into a demolition derby, fine. I’ve had enough excitement for one week.”

LoreKeeper twirled in the air. “Oh, honey, this is going to be good! Fur, claws, and drama galore. Who’s ready for a party?”

Lyra held her CaptureCube up high. “Alright, BloomBounce, it’s showtime!”

With a flash, BloomBounce appeared. “BloooomBounce! Bloom, Bloom, Bounce!” It hopped in circles, shaking with excitement.

Zane sighed, knowing exactly where this was headed. “Fine, but I’m blaming you both when this goes wrong.” He tapped his CaptureCube.

MiningMole came out, claws glowing. “MiningMole?” It sniffed the air, looking at BloomBounce like it wasn’t sure what to make of it.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

Darius activated his CaptureCube.

A green light swirled as TimberTail appeared. “Timber... Tail?” it chirped, moving slowly. Its bushy tail twitched as it watched the other two.

The three MagicBeasts formed a cautious triangle. Staring. Like they had been thrown into a group project nobody wanted.

Lyra clapped her hands. “Look at them! It’s like a magical tea party! Go on, little buddy, make some friends!”

BloomBounce hopped toward MiningMole. “Bloom! BloomBounce!”

MiningMole narrowed its eyes, slowly raising one glowing claw. “Mining… Mole?” It looked like it wasn’t sure if it should wave or swat.

For a second, everything seemed fine. And then—

BloomBounce, too excited, bounced right into MiningMole’s side.

MiningMole screeched, jumping back. “Mole Mole! MiningMole!” Sparks flickered from its claws as it scrambled backward.

BloomBounce quickly hopped back, tilting its head. “BloomBounce?!” It sounded almost hurt, like a kid whose hug got rejected.

Zane chuckled, shaking his head. “Relax, buddy. It’s more scared of you than you are of it.” He patted MiningMole on the head.

LoreKeeper floated above, amused. “A little drama never hurt anyone! Builds character! And, you know, gets ratings.”

Lyra turned to TimberTail. “Alright, tough guy. Show these two how to make peace!”

TimberTail carefully approached MiningMole. “Tiiiimber… Taaaail…” It held out its tail like it was offering a handshake.

MiningMole hesitated, then slowly raised its claw. It touched TimberTail’s tail with an awkward shake. “Mining… Mole,” it said, like it was sealing a truce.

Lyra squealed. “See? Besties already!”

Zane snorted. “They’re getting along better than we did this morning.”

Darius let a small smile show. “They understand the value of teamwork.”

BloomBounce, feeling the moment, suddenly jumped into the air like a leafy ninja. It landed next to TimberTail with a playful bop.

TimberTail blinked, then gently nudged BloomBounce with its snout. Its tail flicked like it was smiling.

Not wanting to be left out, MiningMole shuffled over. It tapped its glowing claw on the ground, making a burst of harmless sparks. “MiningMole!” it said proudly.

What followed was pure chaos. The three creatures bounced, sparked, and spun around each other. Ears, fur, glowing claws everywhere.

Lyra burst into laughter. “Look at them! Magical dance party! Best idea ever!”

LoreKeeper spun above, its pink glow bright with joy. “Oh sweeties, the world isn’t ready for this level of adorable! History is being made right here!”

The three MagicBeasts finished their chaotic dance and looked up at their Tamers. Their eyes shone, panting from the fun.

BloomBounce settled beside Lyra. TimberTail swished its tail. And MiningMole patted the ground, looking pleased.

Even Zane had to admit they were kind of cute. He rubbed the back of his neck, smiling. “Well, would you look at that? Maybe there’s hope for us after all.”

Lyra beamed. “Told ya! Dream team! BloomBounce helps the soil, MiningMole digs ores, and TimberTail cuts trees. We’re like... the ultimate nature squad!”

Darius nodded. “Working together would be effective.”

Zane sighed, giving in. “Fine. But only if I get to sleep in tomorrow. No more early missions.” He tried to sound strict, but a smile was already forming.

“Deal!” Lyra grinned. “Just be ready for the most productive day of your life.” She gave him a playful punch on the arm.

LoreKeeper floated above them, glowing with excitement. “Oh, I can’t wait to see what you all do tomorrow! Teamwork, MagicBeasts, and a bit of friendly competition? It’s going to be amazing!”
