6-roaring flames

6-roaring flames

Having been in the iron tombs many times. They knew their course of action. By simply following the path they would end up on the lower levels where they could hunt monsters for their fur ,bones and gems.

They rushed past the first few levels to save time in there and not waste arrows or risk breaking any items. Only Kurdor slowed down the party. His iron plate mail armor was made by a master armorsmith from the caves and caverns which he called home, and weighed around 18 kilo.

Because of this they let Kurdor lead the group whilst in dungeons so they did not get split up.

When they met a few goblins they simply shot them or quickly stabbed them as they are not worth much. However when they came near the mage goblin, which Marcus had fought before, they stopped and prepared for a fight. Even a simple wand could sell for a dozen copper so they could not let it keep the wand.

Raising his shield, Kurdor was ready to defend any attack thrown at him. Yet the goblins were unfazed by them. They slowly stood up preparing for combat themselves. But this was their first mistake. In seconds, the 5th member of the party, Arshlad, had drawn his wooden bow. With an arrow made of silver, wood and feathers of a Neighron, combat began. Flying through the air it struck the first goblin piercing its armor, leaving only a lifeless corpse in its place.

Neighrons

Living on the snow swept peaks, their feathers gained incredible durability over the years. Their power comes from the wind magic they naturally possess and use to hunt prey and foes alike.

The goblins now annoyed one if its kind had died, rushed at Arshlad, but Kurdor's quick thinking activated one of its skills. A red glowing light appeared below him. in a pattern it snaked over the floor from him to the group of goblins. Once it reached the goblins their focus shifted onto the dwarf.

Now having their attention he started blocking the attacks thrown at him.

This strategy was the norm for the group. But what they did not expect was the mage preparing a spell of its own. A circle full of runes appeared in front of the mage. With a turn of its wand the circle started to rotate as well.

Arshlad, trying to stop the spell by shooting an arrow at the mage but it was blocked by another goblin. It again pierced the shield the goblin was carrying but it was not in vain. Fire sprouted from the mage's wand into a ball of burning flames. Within seconds it was launched at Kurdor. Flying through the air it burned dust off the ground until it reached his shield. When it made direct contact the fireball broke off the shield, making fire fly off from all sides. Most of the flames were shot to the sides away from Kurdor, but some flowed over the shield to his arms causing him to get burns on his arm.

Because he was now hurt, Raqurk casted a simple healing spell on Kurdor. His arms got wrapped in leaves and vines that slowly moved and turned until they all fell to the ground leaving no sign that Kurdor was ever burned by the fireball.

While Raqurk was healing him Amerynna charged at the goblin trying to finish it before much more damage could be dealt. No goblin could stop her as they were still focusing on Kurdor. with a simple slash across the chest, the goblin fell over. The rest of the goblins, now having lost their most powerful part of their group, started routing.

Yet the group was not interested in those low level monsters. Amerynna grabbed the staff to quickly inspect it for any damages. But the blue gemstone on a stick about 60 cm seemed unharmed during the fight. Because of that she stashed it to the side of her backpack and the party carried on.

Not much on the first floor stood in the way of the party. Except for the floor boss of course.

As they entered the final room on the first floor, a red hobgoblin stood mighty in the center waiting for any to enter its chamber. Being taller than any goblin or even hobgoblin, this must have been a champion. Even though its face was covered by a helmet, the eyes were piercing like invisible daggers to anyone who he saw.

The scars of past battles were visible all over its body. This solidified its position in the hierarchy of goblin, right below the king. No goblin dared question its commands and would follow it into death.

Amerynna made sure no one was hurt or fatigued from rushing through the first layer. Kurdor seizing the opportunity lifted his helmet visor to quickly eat some fruit he had taken with him.

"Kurdor this is not the time for that" Amerynna told him off.

"There is always time for food" Kurdor responded with food still in his mouth.

"Make it quick then we don't have all day"

"Here eat some as well, it helps you calm down" he said while throwing her an apple.

"It only helps you gluttons calm down" she bit back at her.

"Just eat it already it's good for you"

Amerynna gave in and bit down on the apple, so they could continue.

Before starting the fight, Raqurk casted a spell on the party boosting everyone's vitality for a while. With this they were ready. With speed they rushed into the stone room into their positions.

The second they stepped in, the boss sprang to life. In seconds the hobgoblin had closed the gap between it and Kurdor. Yet Kurdor was prepared, he raised his shield to block incoming attacks and incoming they were. With immense speed a wooden club, that basically was an uprooted tree, came down on Kurdor.
