3-the red skulls

3-the red skulls

When Marcus ventured out of his safe room, he needed to decide what path he would be following. Because he heard there were little to no dead ends in the dungeon, he decided to keep his hand on the right wall, so that he never looped back on himself. Whilst following the path he heard stones fall in front him. The sound luckily did not come closer, meaning the devouring slime was moving in the same direction as him.

Along the path he found another room similar to the one he took temporary residency in. But this time it contained a singular hobgoblin. Though he had experience fighting hobgoblins. But after the experience with the goblin party, he was not as certain about his success chances. He fought through his self-doubt and prepared to attack the singular monster, as he needed the loot it was guarding.

Hobgoblins

Being an evolution of dungeon goblins, they share many similarities. They stand at an average of 1.70 m. Being stronger than normal dungeon goblins and most non skill users when one is in the party they will take the lead.

Marcus prepared for another dash into the beginning of the battle. But instead of using it to single out a single enemy, he started running at it and then cast it to get past him. This gave Marcus some more time to prepare another attack on the hobgoblin. With this split second he prepared a sword slash, to hit him straight on the shoulder, which hopefully will disarm the hobgoblin.

** change perspectives **

The Red Skulls Mercenary group, an adventurers group of six which specializes in resource gathering and dungeon mapping, were currently sat in the bar of their adventurers guild. They were waiting for their leader, Amerynna, a female elf that's also the accountant of the group, to return. She was currently looking for possible quests for them to complete. Having a hard time deciding, she went to the receptionist to ask for some help.

"Ah hello Amerynna, have you finally decided on a quest to take?" said the brown haired receptionist named Emma.

"Not yet, there isn't a whole lot of collection quests. Do you know anything we could do?"

"Yes, actually we recently got a request from the woodworking guild. I could give it to you"

"Oh yes actually that would be great thank you"

Emma handed her a piece of paper with the quest description.

"Here you go. Goodluck on your adventures"

"Thank you Emma"

With that, Amerynna left the reception to go back to her group.

Because they saw Amerynna move to them, the party stood up and walked over to her.

"So what's the quest this time?" a heavily armored stone dwarf named Kurmod asked.

"Another quest from the woodworking guild" she stated

"Well then i guess we should walk over to that guild then"

The walk there took 5 minutes. Though they hadn't talked to the guild master yet they already had a suspicion what the quest may be.

"So Amerynna what took you so long?" Said Kurmor

"There just were no quests worth taking.

We aren't going on a 3 hour walk through the Arwood forest to find some stupid plants again"

"Come on, it was fun" the lizardmen of the party sarcastically said.

"We are never doing a plant fetching quest again!"

The rest of the walk they joked around a bit more and talked about the recent events in the town.

Once they arrived at the guild they were greeted by a friendly receptionist.

"Hello how can i help you"

"We came here based on a quest. We would like some details on what we are supposed to do and what timeframe we have for that" Amerynna Explained to the receptionist.

"Of Course follow me"

With that the receptionist left a sign on the table informing guests he would be right back. Then he led the group to a door labeled guildmaster. He knocked 3 times before getting an answer.

"Come in!" A female voice shouted from the other side of the doof

"Hello sir these adventurers are here for the quest." He said

"Ah, thank you, You may return to the lobby now" the head of the guild said.

The room was filled with papers and multiple wooden weapons and furniture.

She must have been busy grading them all and preparing to sell these in the shops around town. In the room there were 2 couches to sit in with a table in the middle.

"Come take a seat" she gestured to a couch.

"So you have come for a quest, I have heard. Could you hand me the papers so I can confirm this"

The rest of the party stayed quiet as Amerynna did the talking during these normally. She handed her the paper and waited a bit.

"All good" she said before starting "The woodworking guild has been running out of monster parts recently. We have created many new pieces that require them as you can see"

"That much was clear, yes. So what are we needed for?" Amerynna Said questioning the guild mistress.

"Your task will be to gather more from the dungeon. Of course we will pay you for this, don't you worry about that."

"We normally do worry about how much we get paid. Can we discuss pay beforehand?"

"That's totally fine. We will pay you 5 silver upfront and then for every piece you bring to us we give more based on its grade, does this seem ok with you?"

"Of Course that's perfect"

"That settles it then" the guild mistress announced. "We hope to see you back soon."

The party stood up and left the guild.

Before leaving to go to the iron tombs dungeon, The closest to the Nerlimian capital, they visited the house of the lizardmen to grab supplies and prepare to go deep down in the dark.
