6 Arrival at Edelweiss

6 Arrival at Edelweiss

Arriving at Edelweiss, the train started to slow down.

The castle was getting closer and closer. Once they arrived they would officially enter Edelweiss.

The castle was huge. The Sophos estate couldn’t even compare.

Three large towers surrounded the castle itself. Each one had its accents marked in a different color. Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Screeech

A high-pitched sound was made as the Gungnir engaged its brakes.

Gungnir ‘N’ entered the station as it screeched to a halt.

“We’re finally here! Edelweiss! Come on let’s go” Jamie shot out of his seat, ready to run into the academy.

But his plans soon came to a halt.

Diiiiing

[Please remain seated. An attendant will open your door for you and let you out]

“Ahh man… but I wanted to go in already.” Jamie plopped back down on his seat with a disappointed expression.

“And do what? It’s not like they’ll let you go off on your own to explore.” Jean stared at Jamie in annoyance.

“Huh? Oh yeah, you’re right…” Jamie gave a dry laugh as he realized Jean was right.

Jean scoffed at his impatience.

“But you know? You’re right, I can’t wait to get out of here.” Jean looked at Jamie with contempt in his eyes.

Art ignored them both and stared out the window and saw another train. It seemed that it had gotten here earlier.

Fwoomp

Art turned around at the sound of the door being open.

Standing in the hallway was an attendant pointing to the right.

“Please head to the right and exit from the door you came in.” The attendant guided them with a smile on his face before moving on to open the next door.

Standing up from his seat, Art turned around to collect his luggage.

Art furrowed his brows as he realized how high up his bag was.

Art stood up on the booth seat and reached up to grab his bag. During the train ride, the bag had slid to the back of the overhead storage. Unable to grab his bag, Art stood up on the tips of his toes. Reaching at the strap of his bag, he was able to pull it down. With his bag finally down, Art hung it around his shoulder.

Jumping off the booth he was ready to leave.

Looking at his two companions who had already gotten their bags, it was obvious to tell they were both holding back laughter.

Art, looking down in embarrassment, quickly walked out of the room.

Walking in the direction the attendant had pointed them in, Art saw other kids ahead of him.

Walking through the second car and to the front of the first, Art arrived at the exit.

Jamie, ahead of him, jumped out of the train.

Following suit, Art jumped out and landed on the solid ground of Gungnir Train Station.

Looking around, Art saw a wall that blocked him from seeing past the second car of the train.

Since they were one of the last ones to leave, it didn’t take long until everyone was off the train.

“Listen up everyone!” A male voice rang out from where the front of the train was.

However, Art couldn’t see the owner of the voice due to the crowd of people.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“Follow me! We will be heading to Odin Hall where the entrance ceremony will take place!” The male voice yelled out.

At his words, the group started to move.

They had now left the trains behind.

Looking back, Art was able to see three trains. From right to left the trains had the letters, ‘N’, ‘E’, and ‘W’. It seemed that those from the East and West had already arrived.

If there really was a member of the Weiss family coming to Edelweiss, it seemed they were already here.

In between Gungnir East and West, there was an empty spot. It could only be the spot for Gungnir ‘S’.

Walking through the stone halls of the castle. He saw multiple storage areas and people bustling around crates and containers. A man holding a clipboard yelling at five other people.

Art assumed this was the loading zone where goods brought from outside were checked before officially being allowed inside Edelweiss.

Leaving that area, they walked into a stone hallway with no notable features.

The walk was fairly short as it wasn’t long before they reached their destination.

Two large doors opened up into a grand hall.

“Here we are. Hurry up and take a seat at whichever table you like.” The man stopped and urged the kids to enter the hall.

The kids walked into the hall after being ushered by the man.

The man stood to the side, so as the kids filed into the hall Art was able to take a look at the man who had guided them here.

He had shaggy purple hair and red eyes. He would have been quite handsome looking if it hadn’t been for the dead expression he was carrying.

He met Art’s gaze for a moment before quickly looking somewhere else.

Walking into the hall, Art saw four very long tables, each adorned by a long banner laid across the table. Left to right the banner colors were red, yellow, blue, and black.

At the end of the hall, there was a stage with a podium fixed right in the center.

At the tables, there were already around 100 kids strewn about across separate tables. This was not counting the 50 more kids coming from Art’s group.

Taking a seat at the table with a black banner, Art looked around.

At the table with the yellow banner, there was a large group of people bunched together. He couldn’t see what was happening there, but he could see Jamie trying to get his way into the group.

Looking for Jean, Art spotted him sitting alone at the table with the blue banner.

After a few minutes, he could hear sounds coming from the entrance. It seems the last group was finally here.

At the front of the group of kids, there was a tan girl with long silky black hair and deep blue eyes.

Her black hair and the air of authority she carried, Art knew.

“Fortis!” A student shouted upon recognizing the girl.

A member of the Fortis family had come to Edelweiss.

----------------------------------------

Now two crowds had formed, the one around the yellow table and a new one around the red table.

Art could see the people at the red table crowding around the girl from the Fortis family. But he didn’t know why there was a crowd around the yellow table.

Fwooom

Suddenly, all the light in the hall went out. But just a few seconds later, light returned.

“Welcome everyone!” A voice suddenly boomed from the stage.

A woman who wasn’t there before was now standing behind the podium. The woman had gray eyes and wore a witch’s hat with short dark hair that almost looked black sticking out.

“Okay! Can get everyone to take a seat now!”

Although there was not a bit of authority in her voice, no one dared to disobey her.

Everyone knew who this woman was, and if they didn’t, that person must have been living under a rock their whole lives.

This woman was one of the few Archmages in the world.

Senia Furvus Dux Hayes, the Headmaster of Edelweiss School of Magic.

The kids found empty seats and the crowds disappeared.

Art now looked back at the yellow table. At the table, he saw a boy with white hair.

It seemed Jamie’s information was correct.

White hair. The mark of the Weiss family.

And speaking of Jamie, it seemed he managed to get a seat next to the Weiss boy somehow.

“Thank you everyone for taking a seat. Now let’s get the boring stuff out of the way.” Senia looked down at her podium. She was taking a look a some papers.

“Boring. Boring. Not needed.”

She was looking at the papers for a second before throwing them to the floor.

“Ahh! There we go.” As if finding what she wanted she stopped littering.

“Okay! Welcome 495th class of Edelweiss School of Magic. All of you have proven you have the talent necessary to learn at Edelweiss and so I now deem you official students of Edelweiss.”

As if the paper had served its purpose, it too ended up on the floor like the others.

“And now that you are all official students of Edelweiss. Let’s get you changed into something different.”

As Senia finished her speech, she snapped her fingers and Art’s vision went black.

Art couldn’t see anything it was just black. He also couldn’t move, but he felt his clothes being taken off, and his hat too. All his clothes were taken except for his underwear.

But almost instantly after his old clothes left him, new clothes were put on in their place.

Once the clothes were on, his vision was restored.

He was now donned with a black robe covering a white dress shirt with a black tie and black pants.

Everyone was wearing the same thing, except the girls had skirts instead of pants.

Art tried to look around, but his vision was a bit obscured.

It was his hair that had fallen. No longer bunched up by his hat.
