Language is a tool used for communication, a tool to let us express whatever we want. A tool that wields great power over mana.
As the Abomination continued to scream and shriek, its size steadily grew in a grotesque fashion. New limbs burst out of the skin every second while the growth of hands continued to reach for the sky.
With multiple lives hanging in the balance, Rossa and the rest had no choice but to throw everything they have at their enemy.
Placing her hands in front of her, Rossa began gathering mana as she prepared to chant her spell.
“Oh great and mighty blades”
“Brilliant light of the olden age”
“Slice through and make the darkness fade!”
Rossa then placed her aim towards the bottom part of the monster, more precisely, towards the feet that were rooting themselves deep into the ground.
“Swords of Light!” Rossa yelled as three magic circles glowed around the monster. Three large and luminous swords then manifested from the circles and sliced through the creature, cutting off multiple feet and even slicing a bit of the middle section that was made entirely of arms and hands causing the creature to let out a pained growl.
However, despite the impressive damage dealt to the monster it simply grew back all of its limbs in just a few short seconds.
“Tch.” Rossa clicked her tongue upon seeing the incredible regeneration. She then tensed up and guarded herself for a potential counter attack but to her surprise the monster ignored her presence.
“What is this thing? Are we really going to be able to stop it? Will he be able to do something?” Rossa thought inside her head as she glanced back at Sylvester who was still gathering mana down below.
“No, this is not the time for second guessing. We need to fight.” Rossa continued her thoughts as a massive cyclone of fire blew towards the creature, slicing and setting the flesh letting out a sickly sweet smell of burnt meat.
Artian now charged in running forward, slicing through the appendages that lay in his path making his way towards the dangling mid section of a body while doing as much damage as he could in the process.
“There you are, you piece of shit! Let’s see how you like this!” Artian screamed as he jumped upward, placing himself above the once upper body of the reborn Lich. With his blade pointed downwards he then drove his sword through the Lich’s heart.
“I’m not done yet!” He screamed as he pumped more mana into his glowing sword.
“Blessing overflow: Elemental Overdrive!” Artian yelled as his sword started glowing erratically as he poured enough mana to power a four line spell. The sword’s blade then started changing from color to color as flames, sparks, and even ice, all melted together into a volatile concoction of elemental wrath.
In this arrangement, there was no balance to be achieved as the goal of this elemental spell was to create the most violent eruption one could hope for with a mix of all the traditional magical elements.
As Artian continued to feed more mana into the sword, it inevitably reached a point where the blade itself could no longer endure the abuse it was being subjected to and started to break down. Artian however did not falter and continued causing his sword to explode into a violent explosion, catapulting him into the ground.
“Ugh. Did it work?” Artian asked as he picked himself back and glanced towards his handiwork. As the smoke cleared, only a large hole where the upper body used to be cleanly penetrating through the entire trunk of the tree. But to his horror it rapidly regenerated before his eyes as numerous hands filled the gaps, twictching and shaking in an unnerving fashion as if hastily plugging the hole.
“What the fuck!?” Artian screamed in frustration until the monster suddenly began to move.
The once rooted feet began to rise and remove themselves from the ground causing the entire creature to clumsily move, like a man trying to carry a large stack of boxes on his back. It didn’t take long for Artian to realize where it was headed.
“Guys! It’s headed for the beach!” Artian screamed as Estelle quickly ran forward and stepped right in its path.
“Now then, I’ll give this everything I’ve got!” Estelle yelled as her preparations were completed. While Rossa and Artian were pelting the monster with their own spells, she herself gathered all the mana she could muster for one big attack.
As it stands, Estelle chose to remain in her human form since drinking and transforming will not be optimal. Whenever Estelle transforms her entire physiology changes and one big side effect of this is that some of her spells don’t come out right or even outright fail in her transformed state, not to mention her mana consumption is altered depending on what form she chooses.
Closing her fist into a ball she then started to chant the most powerful spell she had, the one she bought using the spell points.
“Wrath of men o come to me.”
“See your gaze to the clouds above.”
“And through your stubborn and unyielding might.”
“May the heavens fall in one vengeful strike!”

Estelle’s hand then began to glow as a bright spear pulsating with violent energies manifested in her hand. She then pulled back her entire arm, assuming the position for a spear throw.
“Sky piercing spear!” Estelle yelled as she lobbed her spell towards the growing abomination, embedding itself into the mass of hands. There was no giant explosion that happened afterward, only a large circular gap that ate through half of the monster’s entire body, like it was erased in a quick instant.
However, just like with the previous attempts, the monster simply started to regenerate again but the assault was far from over. As Rossa was already preparing her next moves around the same time Estelle was beginning to attack.
Floating in the air with her brilliant wings outstretched she stretched out her hand forward as she finished off the chanting of her spell, carefully timing it right after Estelle’s attack finished.
“Leggera Epurazione!” Rossa yelled as a bright white light erupted from underneath the monster’s body, consuming it entirely. Despite the holy appearance of the spell, it is not a divine or exorcism spell by any means. Rossa was merely hoping that the raw power alone would be enough to damage the monster.
But she was not done yet. Due to the effects of chain casting, she was afforded to use another 4 line spell without the need for saying all of the lines so long as she has the mana.
“Greater smite!” Rossa yelled as a golden circle of light appeared above, directly in front of the white pillar of light still lingering from the spell she used earlier.
Soon, two pillars of light converged, one golden and one pure white, both radiating an awesome and brilliant power as the two lights clashed. However, Rossa's expression twisted into a face of horror once she saw the aftermath.
The monster once again shrugged off all damage dealt against it as it regenerated completely as if her and Estelle’s onslaught were nothing. It then continued its way towards the beach, towards the civilians.
“Damn it damn it damn it!” Rossa could only scream inside her head as she struggled with the fact that all her efforts were for nothing. All of a sudden she felt an extremely large surge of mana being pulled towards the far side causing the monster to stop in its tracks and move towards it.
Her heart’s pace began to quicken even more as she immediately knew what caused this sudden change.
“Sylvester!” Rossa shouted as she tried to rush toward her friend, but unfortunately her strength failed her as she crashed into the ground.
However, this is what Sylvester wanted in the first place, for he purposely let some of the mana he gathered to leak to lure the creature towards him.
“That’s right you disgusting abomination! Come to me instead!” Sylvester yelled as the monster slowly lumbered its way towards him, but its next move was a surprise even to him.
The hands that were raised upwards began to gather mana, forming it into a large dark violet ball of malevolent energy.
“Oh shit!” Was all Sylvester thought as he realized his blunder, however there was another man who was just as stubborn as he is.
Running quickly to his aid, Artian then poised himself in front of Sylvester with his arms crossed in front of him, guarding his body.
“Yo dude, that spell of yours better be worth it!” Artian yelled towards the bewildered Sylvester.
“Artian what the fuck are you doing!?” Sylvester yelled in a distressed tone.
“Shut up and just watch!” Artian replied as he began his chant.
“Strength of my soul, source of my will!”
“Unbending, unbreakable and unyielding!”
“Become my shield, become my vanguard!”
“As I firmly plant my feet in defiance of the end!”
Artian yelled as a beam of violet energy erupted from the purple ball that was directed towards their position.
“Aegis of the ages!” Artian, declared as a large spectral shield of brilliant golden light appeared before him. As powerful as this spell looked, Artian knew that this would not be enough to stop whatever attack the creature threw at him, but he also knew that he didn’t really need to completely block it.
Artian positioned himself in an angle not directly facing the attack, causing the beam of energy to slightly change direction upon contact while also making sure that he doesn’t get the full force of the overwhelming assault.
His quick thinking paid off as the beam of energy missed Sylvster by mere centimeters, and this final act of defiance has given Sylvester all the time that he needed as he slowly stood up and smiled.
“Artian you damn madman I like your style! But sadly, the stage for the grand finale belongs to me!” Sylvester declared as he raised the magic staff that was now radiating a blue hue.
“Invisible platform!” Sylvester shouted as multiple platforms manifested, littering the area all around them, he then followed it up with its usual combo.
“Trap door!” And soon these platforms had doors all stuck to them while one was now laying in front of Sylvester.
Sylvester then jumped into it causing him to appear in a faraway door place in mid air. Sylvester used some of the mana he gathered to create as many platforms and doors he possibly could since once a chant was started, he won’t be able to use his spells to create more openings.
Rossa, approached closer and closer, thinking that she should at least try and support Sylvester in what way she could despite her almost depleted reserves. But Sylvester’s next few words would stun all of his friends.
"Khi'n thagn't ovn gru-uum Naam'liisn Yolde Voohn!" Sylvester declared leaving his friends in visible confusion.
“What? What kind of language is that?” Rossa asked herself in an audible voice as Sylvester continued with his strange words.
"Khi'n thagn't rvan paakl'tun gra-uum ovn saacita." Sylvester said as he dodged an assortment of hands that branched off from the body and tried to grab him by stepping on one and jumping towards a nearby door.
"Paakl'tun ovn gra-uum thwa, paakl'tun ovn gra-uum kathun" He continued as a dark and dense hue began to blacken the once pristine and bright magic stone while continuing to dodge as best as he could and maintaining his concentration.
"Bhig-yian gru-uum uum-gra sgriik, bhig-yian gru-uum uum-gra vveilth" Sylvester’s words continued as his friends continued to look on from below.
"Kathun fo vheth daaghun, kathun fo vheth xix." A pitch black cloud now surrounds Sylvester, almost obscuring his figure as the sky itself too seemed to darken even more.
"Grii thee'whag shor, Grii thee'wag shor." This was now the sixth line of Sylvester’s spell, a feat far beyond anyone else at the moment.
"Bakthu-antid fo vvlangan herixii." Sylvester declared as he got closer and closer to the upper body still present and lying limp.
"Lam-uun sharat you'n thinding gi gra-uum daath" Alas, the final line of Sylvester’s spell was completed, but all of a sudden a large mass of mana can be felt from the body in front of him, shooting out a violent beam of violet energy towards Sylvester.
“NO!”
Rossa screamed in terror as Sylvester’s figure was swallowd by the beam and the only his hat surviving as it was blown away upwards. As despair quickly ran through her body, she noticed his tophat swaying idly inching closer towards the enemy when suddenly a hand holding a black staff popped out, along with Sylvester’s upper half.
"Kathun fo vheth xix no'on!"
