Chapter 1

I regained my consciousness, prompting me to quickly open my eyes, only to see the starry sky above.

I slowly raised my body as I placed my right hand on my head to ease the dull pain I felt.

(Ouch… did I pass out?)

My body felt really heavy as I slowly stood up while my left hand used the wall next to me as support.

(Huh?)

When I was finally able to stand upright, I made a single step and almost fell down again.

I was still feeling disoriented, my line of sight was even lower than what I remembered.

Under the night sky, I was slowly walking towards the direction of my house.

(... Hmm… Cate was with me this morning… why’d she leave me alone? She did look pretty pissed at me this morning.)

I continued to lose myself in my thoughts until I finally reached my house.

I passed through the well-trimmed hedges that served as my gate.

When I was about to open the door of my house, I heard some faint footsteps from inside and the lights in the living room were suddenly turned on.

I sneaked a peek at the living room window.

My eyes widened in surprise.

The man inside the house had uncombed hair, bags under his eyes, and some pimples on his face but his overall features were really familiar to me.

I could feel my lips curving upwards.

The dullness I felt after I woke up was blown away by the shock.

My bad habit of forgetting to lock my doors came in handy as I quickly opened the front door and  ran towards the living room.

I jumped towards the person in my living room, only to fall face first into the floor.

I raised my head and saw that his feet were only a few inches away from me, which was a bit strange cause I was sure the jump I made had enough force to push a grown man down.

“What the?... Who’re you?”

“...”

“Are you a thief?”

“...”

Everytime he spoke, I could feel a tingling sensation travel down my spine.

All the hair on my skin stood on end as my ears slightly moved, catching every word spoken by him.

My body couldn’t stop trembling.

My hand slowly reached out towards the bag I was carrying.

I reached out for my student handbook which carried my I.D.

With fear gripping my heart, I held my handbook out to ‘Jun’ and told him to look at it for me.

He cautiously accepted my handbook and read the information on my I.D.

Although it was only a few minutes in reality, the time I spent waiting for his answer felt like an eternity.

He made a big sigh as he finished reading.

While scratching his head with his left hand, he asked me a question.

Those words made me feel ecstatic.

I ran towards Jun and attempted to hug him, only for him to evade and leave me crashing towards the wall.

“....What’s wrong with you?”

I faced Jun as I try to suppress my desire to hug him.
