Prologue
Have you ever fallen in love?
No?
Then you, good sir, are missing out on one of the best things life has to offer!
How did I know about this?
...Do you really wanna know?
It’s because I’ve fallen in love ,of course!
The beauty of the person that I love is, without a doubt, divine.
How so?
Well, that person had a raven black crown of silky hair that flutters majestically in the wind, deep hazel eyes full of emotions that feel as if it will swallow you up, and a glossy pair of lips that’s utterly irresistible.
The very being of that person is the epitome of Beauty.
The name that person carries is Jun Maeda.
Even the person’s name had a nice ring to it that makes me shiver in delight.
Oh, by the way, I have to tell you something, that person is me.
I was once a very naive person who yearned for the love of others.
One day, as I continued to search for my one true love, a book I found in the library enlightened me to a great truth.
‘The only person who can accept you for who you really are, is only yourself!’
Since then, I’ve been grooming myself to become more handsome and beautiful.
I’ve started training in my room, studying fashion, and even learning about how to stay healthy.
When I looked at the mirror, I would see myself standing, posing in different styles.
“It’s another good day for the beautiful me! Ahahahaha!”
I continued doing my daily poses before I left my room.
I’ve been living in a house with me as the only resident.
My father died in a car accident while my mother was working overseas.
I walked towards the kitchen and prepared a light meal.
When I was about to finish my food, I glanced at the clock behind me.
The time was 7:26 am.
“Oh shit! I’m gonna be late!”
I quickly ran towards the door with a piece of bread dangling off my mouth. (Hurray cliches!)
From next door, a slim figure with a small chest walked out at almost the same time as me.
She was 156 cm tall and her black hair was loosely braided, hanging on her shoulder.
I continued to stare at her as she closed the door of her house.
When she turned her face, she noticed me staring at her.
Her cheeks are quickly dyed red as she started to stammer in front of me.
“Yo! Morning Cate?”
“M… Morning J-Jun.”
“You should look at people when you greet them.… Oh right, we’re gonna be late, let’s hurry! “
“Ahhh!”
I jumped over the fence separating our house and grabbed on to Cate’s hand.
I gave her a piece of bread and ran towards school with her in tow.
The girl I am dragging with me is my classmate and childhood friend Catherine Minamoto, unlike me, she’s half-Japanese and half-American.
She was born on February while I was born on March, the two of us will turn 16 this year.
We’ve been together ever since we were young, that hasn’t changed even when I started living alone in the house.

Even though she is a girl, she can’t cook, do laundry, or clean the house.
Her parents are important individuals in a certain company, making them very busy.
Busy enough to leave her alone most of the time.
When she tries to do some chores, something would either explode or get broken, because of that, she would spend her time in my house
It was also because of her that I never felt lonely in my house.
The town that we have been living in is a part of a small island nation in the Pacific.
The nation’s name is Faubrey, it’s a very small island to the point that you can’t even find it in the world map.
The particular town that I live in is Milkey, the largest port town in the island.
As a port town, there are various benefits that come with it.
Due to being the center of trade for the whole island, the town and the people became wealthy.
This leads to many stone buildings and roads, a huge difference compared to the other towns.
Incidentally, this is the only town in the island that has a school.
The two of us made a few turns as we ran towards my school.
Along the way, we saw a creepy looking old woman holding a crystal ball in one hand.
Her face was covered with a purple mantle but the hand that was holding the crystal ball showed signs of aging.
“Young man, do you have someone you love?”
“Huh?”
“...Eh? Jun?”
When we were about to run past the old woman, she suddenly spoke to me in a hoarse voice.
“I’m asking you if you have someone you love.”
“Of course I do! The person I love is none other than myself! Look at me, don’t you think that my slender figure is fit for a model? Feast your eyes on my smooth hands, each as beau--”
“Huh? … Eh?... What did you just say Jun?”
Cate’s face went pale when she heard my answer.
She mechanically turned to face me with a blank expression.
Her body was quivering uncontrollably as she slowly reached for something in her bag.
“Do you want to spend your entire life with the person you love?”
“What are you talking about? There’s no way I couldn’t, right? I mean, the person I love is myself, and Cate... what’s up with you? What are you gonna do with that cutter? ”
“Answer me with a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’”
I became a bit angry at the tone the old woman used, but I have to be patient with her because she’s older than me.
Cate was also quickly becoming scary, she slowly placed the cutter near my neck.
“Ne~ Jun… Who did you say was the person you loved? Can you please tell me again.”
“... Yes!?”
“Then I shall grant you your wish, Young Man.”
The ‘Yes’ I directed towards her was also heard by the creepy old woman.
She nodded a few times, signifying that she assented to my words.
All of a sudden, my consciousness started to fade.
Before I passed out, the sound of laughter resounded in the air.
