Blazing Glory put his dice in a cup to rattle it around before upturning it on the table dramatically. I rarely see players using a cup these days for rolling dice. Blazing Glory looks up and smiles and takes his time to create a response "As Shadow expertly twist away from the claws his eyes widen in surprise as a firebolt roars though space his body had just vacated and strikes towards the bewildered Tigerbeast chest with four successes."
"Great hit!" exclaimed the Storyteller. He then grabs a handful of dice and starts shaking them. After a bit of thought drops the dice and peers at the results. Looking at Blazing Glory he says "you quickly condense a firebolt that slams home on the surprised Tigerbeast chest who only manage one success to dodge. How much damage did you cause?"
Blazing Glory starts adding dice in the cup and after and mutters to himself "that's about does it" and begins shaking the cup before slamming it home on the table. He studies the results for a time before lifting his head with another smile. "As the firebolt slams home, the Tigerbeast stumbles away from Shadow as the massive impact from the firebolt explodes that envelope him in sticky burning liquid fire with 6 successes."
"Damn six?" exclaims Shadow.
"What a mighty fine hit!' calls out the Storyteller. Thinking for a while, the Storyteller finally selects a handful of dice. With a quick shake and roll and peers at the results. Looking up he says, "As the Tigerbeast staggers from the sudden magic attack you notice the Tigerbeast's horns and scales start turning a reddish hue. That liquid fire that your so proud of seems to be absorb by them. That's when you notice the Tigerbeast's eyes looking at you in distain."
"Awww hell, the Tigerbeast got Fire Resistance too?!" exclaimed Shadow.
"Yeah, the Tigerbeast Fire Resistance soak up all the damage that got through his defenses this round. However, the start of the next Round might be another story as he will need to resist a level six burning damage," replied the Storyteller.
"Great!' responded Blazing Glory, "next round is a good chance to reverse the situation."
"Alright, since all combatants are out of actions, time for a new round" state the Storyteller. "Same Initiative as last round. Johnbedamage is fully healed and has full actions this round but Shadow is down to one action due to having wounded status." I watch the Storyteller take a single dice and place his hand on the table to obscure the result from the rest of us and gives off a mysterious smile. I don't like that smile at all. Afterward snatching up the single die and combine it with a handful of dice to make another roll. After staring at the results, he looks sad and states "the Tigerbeast suddenly howls in pain as that burning liquid manage to seep in between the scales and burn the flesh behind them. The Tigerbeast takes two levels of fire damage before the liquid fire fades away. It's hate filled eyes glares at you and suddenly Leap toward you Enraged. Congratulations for stealing the Tigerbeast Aggro."
"Crap!" hollers Blazing Glory.
"Alright everyone make a Sixth Sense test with a difficulty of eight" commands the Storyteller who shakes and rolls a handful of dice. With a sudden smile says "you need three successes to act in the sudden Ambush."
I watch everyone look at their Character Sheet and begin calculating their dice pool while I do the same. Let see my Sixth Sense talent is a three plus my Melee Combat is a three so a total of six dice again. Selecting six dice I shake and make my roll hoping for high numbers. Peering at the poor results and immediate say "two success no crit or botches."
Johnbedamage also states "two successes no crit or botches."
Shadow announces "one success since my crit is cancelled by my botch."

Blazing Glory glumly says "One success and one botch."
"Oh a botch" says the Storyteller, "interesting..." After contemplating a while he replies "Goldbranch, your sixth sense warns you of danger nearby but it not directed at of you."
I sigh will relief, and wonder who took damage.
"Shadow, your sixth sense warns you of danger and you immediately go on the defensive and look quickly to the left and right looking for an attacker" shells out the Storyteller with a strange grin.
"Damn it! With the Tigerbeast leaping at Blazing Glory I thought I have some time to finally drink a healing potion." Shadow voice isn't too happy.
"Blazing Glory, your sixth sense warns you of danger and cause you to stumble a bit, allowing the Tigerbeast to get up close and personal. You suffer a plus one difficulty to avoid the Tigerbeast attack."
"Crap!" yells Blazing Glory, I see him get serious because as a Wizard he is weak in melee combat.
The Storyteller then looks at Johnbedamage and smile somewhat wickedly and say "Johnbedamage, some Followers of your Hated Rival launched a surprise attack at you and your companions, unfortunately there are only three of them with bows."
I see Johnbedamage stiffen a bit then grins and says "ok, time to kill the followers of my hated rival!"
"Alright lets see what happens as three arrow flash towards the party except Goldbrand," eagerly replies the Storyteller. Rolling three sets of dice, he state "three successes to hit on Johnbedamage, two success to hit on Shadow" followed by a disappointed voice "miss on Blazing Glory." After a bit of thought he continues with "hmmm, ok since the surprise attack was successful this is how it will play out. At the start of the first exchange this round two of you got hit by arrows from behind. Goldbranch, let resolve your first exchange." Grabbing a handful of dice and making a roll before announcing "As you back peddle from the shock of Shadow Strike bouncing off the Beastfolk warrior's neck, he notice your eyes flicking to the left and right. Seeing you distracted he lunges forward with a swing to chop your legs from under you with two successes, no crit or botches."
"Alright" I replied, "I choose to dodge the attack by jumping away from the ambushers as best I can while avoiding the blade, but also try to circle around so I can keep an eye on the Beastfolk warrior and the ambushers." Quickly confirming my dodge talent to be a two and adding my melee combat, I pick five dice to roll and announce "yes, I completely dodge that with two successes, no crit or botches."
"You barely dodge the Beastfolk warrior swing while glancing around for the ambushers. What are you going to do with your action, will you counter attack the beastfolk warrior or continue to look for the ambushers?"
"I'll attack the Beastfolk warrior but also continue to circle around until I can see the ambushers." I replied. I need to kill this Beastfolk warrior quickly so I can help out with the ambushers so I quickly supplied "I activate Shadow Strike's Might for this round and also spend a Faith Point for an automatic hit."
"Finally stop giving pointers and getting serious I see" replies the Storyteller. "Your Shadow Strike burst forth arcane white flames that possess no heat or substance but everyone feels a mighty aura and forces all to give a quick glance at the blade in your hands. You feel incomparable might fill your sword arm and Shadow Strike sudden feel light as a feather. Followed an instant later by the feeling of divine will and everyone watches your blazing blade mysterious snakes past your opponent's blade to connect powerfully on the Beastfolk warrior body. How much damage did you do?"
First I roll my six dice to hit with to if can get additional successes to hit. I see I have three successes, as the botch is cancelled by the automatic hit. Next I need to calculate my damage test. My strength is a three, but with the might skill from the sword brings it down to six difficulty to damage and an extra dice to roll. Now adding the successes to hit I get seven dice to collect and roll, I announce the result before me I frown "one crit, three success and two botches..."
"Two botches... ok, so it ends up with a botch and three successes." contemplates the Storyteller. After a bit he replies "the Beastfolk warrior fear filled eyes at the sudden sight of your blazing sword suddenly turns icy and he decides to activate Eye for an Eye which is the effect of your botch. The Beastfolk warrior suddenly pull out a hidden dagger and with a vicious flick of his off hand buries the dagger in your chest just as your sword strike home." He then grabs some dice and rolls, mumbling "auto success plus one success to hit" then grabs another handful of dice and peers at the result before saying "hmmm, good hit! Ok now, let's see, the sudden appearance of the hidden dagger plunges into your chest for one crit and three successes. The Beastfolk warrior grin at you because he know his natural defenses is better than yours." Grabbing another handful of dice and states "let's resolve the damage to each other now." and rolls the dice in hands.
