"Alright" I replied. Ok that dagger hit me for four successes. Checking my combat Toughness is a three plus level one racial Resilient, that gives me four dice at difficulty of seven. Picking four dice to roll and start praying again for high numbers and cut loose. Looking at the result I announce "two successes, no crit or botches."
"Ok that one crit damage get canceled out by your resilient racial advantage, so you take two levels of normal damage. But your light armor reduces your damage by one so you take one point of damage which should put you at Hurt status. You lose one action next round" states the Storyteller. "As for the Beastfolk warrior he manage to soak all three points of damage, however since you activated might and he don't have Resilient so soak it with so he takes one level of critical damage. His eyes widen in pain for taking critical damage and his smirky grin turn into a grimace of pain."
"You finally manage to damage that bastard!" exclaimed Shadow.
"God damn right" I happily return his high five, "finally taught that smug Beastfolk who's boss!"
Laughing the Storyteller says while turning to Johnbedamage "With the effect of healing potion you are feeling quite full of yourself then Bam! you got hit by an arrow from behind. Seeing you stagger the Beastgirl dashes forward to finish you off." Checking the result of a handful of dice and says "a crit and two successes. The Beastgirl once again use Swift Strike and try to deliver an instant kill. Ok, resolve the damage for the arrow first." He grabs and dice and toss "let see Beastgirl hits with one crit and three successes, no botches."
Johnbedamage shakes some dice and in a moment says "two successes."
"Two huh..." mumbles the Storyteller "you take one critical damage and one normal damage, but your heavy armor negate the normal damage so you just take the critical one. Let's see, how will it go, the arrow punches through the meaty part your shoulder, stings like hell but you can still fight normally at scratched status. Ok now resolve the Beastgirl's damage."
After studying the dice he just rolled Johnbedamage says "two successes."
"I see, your Heavy Armor is quite handy" states the Storyteller. You only suffer the critical damage which send you now to bruised status and you can still fight normally next round. The quick bitch of a Beastgirl's glowing knife slam into your side aiming for your heart, but you twist a bit and the knife slid in front of of it. You groan in pain from the two critical hits. The Beastgirl giggles and silkily whispers in your ear "sorry love this isn't the bedroom" before dancing away laughing.
Rolling another handful of dice his gaze switches to Shadow and puts out "you grin happily when the Tigerbeast suddenly leaps away, as you reach for a healing potion then bam! You got hit by an arrow from behind for three successes, resolve the damage."
Shadow collect his dice and roll them then mumble "I take another point of damage is now at Stunned."
"Stunned..." murmured the Storyteller then after a while says "the arrow blast into your back and you slump to the ground. The explosion of pain makes you cry out and faint. The sudden banging of your head hitting the ground snaps you back awake. Realizing your in serious trouble, you try to reach for a healing potion but realize both your hands are squeezed into fists due to the pain, you cant get them to open. But after a moment, the shock passes and you reach for a healing potion and grab your sword you dropped before standing up. What healing potion are you using?"

"The strongest I have" and turn over his character sheet to look at the inventory. "oh nice, I still have a strength six potion left." collects some dice and rolls them and replies "I healed the critical from the Bite and Throw and now back up to hurt status."
"I see" replied the Storyteller "not bad, you still lose one action next round. As you stand up drinking a healing potion you realize there are no enemies in melee range of you. You also realize how truly disgusting the strength six healing potion taste, you grimace in disgust while staring at the offending vial in you hand. This in turn forces you to remember the rumor of the only alchemist in the area who can make a strength six potion and he rarely sells them. As such they are almost always sold out as adventurers greedily buy them when ever they can."
I watch the Storyteller take a short break, leans back in his chair while munching on a chocolate bar dipped in peanut butter. After sipping from a can of cold double strength coffee which he keeps in a bowl of ice, he gazes at Blazing Glory no doubt contemplating his demise. After checking that results of the newly thrown dice he continues with his story "As you back peddle from the leaping Tigerbeast, an arrow zip pass your eyes and nearly hit the beast. You instinctively glance backwards and see three humans nocking new arrows to their bows. However, this delays your response as you realize the Tigerbeast has landed in front of you and swipes at you belly with his terrifying sharp claws for three success, crit cancel by a botch. How are you gonna reply to this hit?"
"I'll activate my Barrier Ring!" Blazing Glory replies with inspiration, no doubt just remembering he had that ring.
"Barrier Ring huh?!" replied the Storyteller while looking though some papers. I see his finger slide across a sheet obvious reading what was written there. "I see, please make a single odds or evens test," while tapping the table in front of him.
I see Blazing Glory poke through his dice looking for his most favorite one, then with a simple toss the die rolls forward to stop in front of the Storyteller. After glazing at the results and a quick flick of one finger send the die rolling back to it's owner and utters "odds." The look on his face tells me he didn't expect the Barrier Ring to be used at this time, but at the same time I see his eyes widen a bit when he saw the results of the roll. After some time he nods his head then proceed to make two sets of rolls and glancing at Blazing Glory and continues with "just as the Tigerbeast cuts loose and swing his right paw at you the ring on you hand blaze forth with Arcane Energy that instantly form a protective Barrier around you. Just as you smile smugly behind your barrier you hear a bell like gong followed by glass shattering and realize the barrier you just put up collapse from the Tigerbeast's skill Infernal Claw Strike! You also feel the Barrier Ring turn to dust, however you take no damage from the attack. Being shock by this exchange, you finally notice the offending claws is covered with flames that is starting to wink out of existence."
"My Barrier Ring!" cries Blazing Glory. "Is that Infernal Claw strike that powerful?"
"Nah" answered the Storyteller, "Barrier rings have limited charges, and you used it in the past couple of sessions. That single test you just made was to see if the barrier ring turns to dust or just stops working until you can get someone to Recharge it" then gives Blazing Glory a cheeky grin. After a while, he mumbles "finally got rid of that damn thing" when he see Blazing Glory burying his grief in a bag of chips.
