"Activate Skill, Golem Avatar Control on Warrior Golem," I order the interface.
Warrior's eyes and the intricate rune carvings adorned his boulder body emitted a bright blue light.
My soul shifts from the metal sphere to the Golem Warrior's body. The sensation is similar to piloting a Mech through a Pod.
"Interface! Expand skill details for Warrior Golem," I order.
[Lv. 1 Slash:
Swing the one-handed sword in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal arcs at single or multiple targets.
Damage to Single Target = (ATK x DEX) + Weapon ATK Damage
Damage to Multiple Targets = (ATK x DEX) + Weapon ATK Damage / Number of Targets
Double Damage to Critical Strikes
Target's natural DEF + Shield / Armor DEF will subtract the Damage dealt]
[Lv 1 Thrust:
Thrust or stab the one-handed sword at a single target.
Damage to Single Target = (ATK x DEX) + Weapon ATK Damage
Double Damage to Critical Strikes
Target's natural DEF + Shield / Armor DEF will subtract the Damage dealt]
[Lv 1 Parry:
Use one-armed weapons such as Swords, Maces, Hammers, etc, to intercept and deflect incoming attacks such as Slash, Bludgeon, and Thrusts.
Parry's success depends on the Target Rank. If it is equal to your own or lower, it will succeed. It will fail if the target is a Higher Rank]
[Lv 1 Block:
Use the Shield to nullify an incoming attack.
Block's success = Shield DEF + Armor DEF > Incoming attack
Block's fails = Shield DEF + Armor DEF < Incoming attack]
Oh, there must be another window to check equipment stats.
"Interface! Open Warrior Equipment Stats," I order.
[Short Stone Sword (Clay Rank)
ATK: 100]
[Round Stone Shield (Clay Rank)
DEF: 200]
[Golem Rune Armor (Clay Rank)
They provide an extra layer of defense against Elemental attacks.
Elemental DEF: MP x 10 = 100
Each activation of the Rune Armor reduces MP by 10]
"AI! Does Miner and Builder have the same Rune Armor?"
[Affirmative]
"Good! Now it is time for me to practice moving around in this body without limbs."
With slow and waddling steps, I traverse the room with disappointment. I longed for the freedom of limbs. At that moment, Warrior's blue orb on his waist began to emit a radiant glow.
The hands, feet, and head were detached from the main body. Tendrils of blue-colored Mana functioned as arms, legs, and a neck. The Warrior's height rose from 2 feet to 4 feet. Now, I can use the skills without struggling. I tried to run around the cavern to evaluate the Warrior's mobility and flexibility. Unfortunately, it was like running with half your body submerged underwater. I could not jump or dodge properly.
"Golems are not suited for a dextrous combat style," I mumbled.
[Is there a Combat Style suitable for a Golem?]
"Stick to one spot and let the opponent come at me. It worked before," I replied.
This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
[Before?]
"The mechs I used to pilot had a similar limitation. They weren't designed for running around or dodging attacks. The enemy would rush toward it whenever it was on the battlefield. I dealt with the ones that got too close with the Gattling Guns. Lasers for drones and missiles to deal with ranged artillery or bombers," I explained.
I removed the sword and shield from Warrior's hands, causing them to drop to the floor with a loud thump due to their weight. I walked over to a stalagmite, broke it off the cavern floor, and aimed at a cluster of stalagmites on the opposite side. Then, with all the strength Warrior could muster, I hurled the stalagmite in their direction. It creates a loud bang and a small crater on impact.
[Warrior has learned the Throw Projectile (Clay) skill]
Huh?
[Throw Projectile (Clay):
Throw any aerodynamic object with one or two hands at a target.
Damage dealt will be (ATK x DEX) + 100 per 10 meters + 10 per kilogram for the projectile]
"This is amazing! Can he learn magic spells, too?" I ask the AI.
[A Spell Tome would be needed to find out] The AI suggested.
"Don't you have them in your database?" I ask the AI.
[My internal library is limited to the Interface, Golems, and Dungeon features]
"Oh, I thought you came preinstalled with everything to know about this world," I replied.
[Knowledgewledge is power, and spoonfeeding is frowned upon by the Demon King]
"Right!" I grumbled.
[I can scan any literature your Golems collect as long as it is in a Language you have learned. Then I can share its contents with you upon request]
"We need to collect as many books as possible about this world to make you smarter," I said.
[Intelligence and data collection are not the same. I can learn and ask questions]
"Really? Do you have one right now?" I asked.
[Wouldn't a Golem created with a Mage Soul be more efficient in learning a Spell than a Warrior Golem?]
"It's true, but I don't know if I'll get a recipe to create a Mage Golem. So, it's better to teach this Warrior as many tricks as possible to defend this Dungeon until then," I reasoned.
[I have more questions]
I listen to the AI's questions about various topics related to my thinking process.
It's been a while since I've had someone to talk to like this, so two hours flew by before the AI noticed something.
[Miner has returned]
Miner came back into the inner sanctum, waddling in like a Penguin. He stopped when he noticed my changes to Warrior. He willed his body to mimic mine and succeeded.
"I wish I had learned this trick before exploring the Dungeon. I kept tripping and rolling everywhere," the Miner grumbled.
"Did you find any quarry in the Dungeon?" I ask Miner.
"Aye, my Lord! I found a stone deposit at the second level."
I was excited by the news, but it sparked a question.
"Second? Which level are we in?" I ask Miner.
"We are at the lowest level of the Dungeon, the 10th level." Miner revealed.
"I see. How much Stone can you mine from the deposit?" I ask.
"I would say around 10000 stones," Miner answered.
"So, enough for 20 more Golems before it's depleted," I calculate.
[All resource nodes inside a Dungeon will restore to their original state every 24 hours]
"Do you mean the quarry will refill itself daily?" I ask the AI.
[Affirmative]
"Doesn't that mean we have an infinite supply of Stone?" I asked the AI.
[Every resource node has an upper limit. In this case, it is 10000 stones per day for the Stone deposit]
"But what about Mana Crystals?" I ask Miner.
"I didn't find any lying around in the other levels. But when I mined the stone deposit for two hours, I obtained two Mana Crystals, 1000 stones, and gained 200 EXP in the process." the Miner answered.
He reveals two Mana crystals with his left hand.
"I had to leave the stones I mined behind since I couldn't bring it down here," Miner explained.
"How long can you mine in a day?" I ask Miner.
"I can work for 24 hours, My Lord. But I should be able to mine this quarry for 20 hours to get all 10000 stones and 20 Mana crystals, given a consistent Mana Crystal to Stone ratio." Miner explained.
"Don't you need to eat and sleep?" I ask Miner.
"Golems do not require such things, my Lord." Miner pointed out.
"Where does your energy come from?" I ask.
"As long as the orb remains undamaged, it will absorb Mana from the environment and convert it into energy to sustain me," Miner explained, pointing at the orb on his waist.
"What happens to you if it gets damaged or destroyed?" I ask.
"I think it's best not to find out," Miner pointed out.
"Oh, can't I resummon you through the Recipe scroll?" I ask the AI.
[You need to use another Soul to obtain a new Miner Golem. If this Golem is destroyed, its memories, personality, and skills will be lost]
I got caught up in the notion that everything would follow a game-like logic, where any Summon could be brought back to life. However, this assumption turned out to be far from reality.
"Is there a way for me to resurrect my Golems?" I ask the AI.
[Golem Summoners can unlock skills to revive their Golems. But they must reach a higher rank]
"How high?" I ask.
[Above Diamond Rank]
