Chapter 3: Special

Chapter 3: Special

It was the next day, at 8am. It was quite early, although at this time everybody would be awake. I had a lot to do today.

For one, I had to make sure everyone in the Village was able to use basic Reinforcement and Elemental Magic, as this would help them for basic survival. An example being Fire Magic. This would help them light a camp fire.

I got up and went towards the back of the Village, where the fields were.

As I looked at the fields, I was disappointed. There were tools all over the field, abandoned their. There was only one person who was a young boy, tending to the fields, making it so seeds could be planted.

"Uhm, hi, what happened here?". I shouted out to the boy who came rushing over.

"Hello! Everyone gave up yesterday, I think I'm the only one who enjoys farm work aha".

The boy scratched his head. I looked at the boys potential.

[Jackson: Aged 11]

[Magic Potential: 4/10]

[Swordsmanship Potential: 1/10]

[Farming Potential: 9/10]

[Mining Potential: 2/10]

[This boy has the capability of becoming an amazing farmer, his potential knows no ends. If he learns Reinforcement and Elemental Magic he'll be trusted to take the task of teaching the Villagers about farming due to his caring personality.]

I gasped in shock. How did I miss this boy? I swear I saw 100 villagers yesterday.

In reference to Evie, her potential looked like this.

[Evie: Aged 12]

[Magic Potential: 8/10]

[Swordsmanship Potential: 3/10]

[Farming Potential: 0/10]

[Mining Potential: 0/10]

[She has the capabilities of becoming a lead in developing Magic further. Not much can be said for now, however she can easily become a prestigious Magus with the correct Teaching.]

Not only does this boy have amazing Farming potential, he also has the capability of magic, this could be considered above average as the Villagers all had around 1 - 3 potential in Magic.

"Jackson, please do as I say. Sit down and get into a Meditiation position please, in a few hours you should have awaken your affinity, when you do, sit back down in the same position and meditate until your body glows a blue aura. I'll be at my house".

"Uh, okay! I won't let you down!".

The bright, caring boy instantly sat down and followed what I said, however, as I was walking away, I felt something, something strange. I could feel mana, I turned around to see the boy, sat there, with seeds floating behind him.

I could only think of one thing, Specialist.

These were very rare occurences who had a deep attatchment to something, and instead of having one of the Elements in the world, they create their own power, and in this case, it was Seeds for Jackson.

I ran up to him and shook him. "Come with me please".

The boy hesitated, but he felt trust in Jay.

----------------------------------------

I was able to gather everyone in the village into the Village Square.

"Hello everyone! This boy next to me is called Jackson, and he is the first Specialist in Haven!".

Well, whether this was true or not, I have no clue, but I decided to go with it.

"Jackson is now in charge of the farms, please come to him. Also, Moe, you'll be working along side Jackson for now, so please get to know eachother!".

The problem with the Farms currently, is that they lack nutrients, so I hope Moe will be able to help with his Water Affinity, he also is very capable with Magic, he's the second best, just under his sister.

[Moe: Aged 9]

[Magic Potential: 6/10]

[Swordsmanship Potential: 2/10]

[Farming Potential: 2/10]

[Mining Potential: 0/10]

"With that, I'll be handing Soup out again, however this time it's for everybody! Everyone will have to farm with Jackson and Moe. I can't express how vital it is for us to get a food source up and running! This soup can only last us a few more weeks if we have one bowl a day. Eventually, I will be putting in place Sword and Magic training for everyone, so hunting can become a common occurence!".

I looked through the crowd and could see a few people with Sword potential, and this was great. This meant that Guards would be put in place again.

Currently, there are three heavy problems with Haven.

The economy is terrible. There are no stores, and no money in circulation, the only money left is around 10 gold coins, which would only able to get one trainer for a few months, which seems like a waste of funds.

Second, is how unsafe everywhere is, and this is not because of the Villagers in Haven. Infact, they're actually peaceful people and everybody knows eachother, the problem is the Kingdom we're under. This Kingdom is called Griffon, and like the name implies, this Kingdom was once allied with the Monster known as Griffons. Nobody alive now can explain why, but Griffon was once a place filled with Summoners, and Summoning was a general practice that occurred, however that slowly died down around 100 years ago, due to the current lineage of people. They're worse than my Father, they use their own Citizens in the Capital as their toys, and chuck them in the Colloseum to see if they can fight, barehanded against Monsters. Because of this, they even go to Towns outside of their Capital, to kidnap people for their enjoyment. Thankfully, it hasn't happened yet, and that's why I'm focusing so much on Magic and Swordsmanship. Everyone in Haven needs to put in the work so they can be protected, as currently we're in a very vulnerable situation, and hopefully word doesn't get out that my Father died, as they'll try take over Haven.

Finally, the food source. I'm hoping that with Jackson's seeds, growing them won't be a problem, however I'm still worried as it's Spring, and I have no idea what can grow in Spring and what can't.

----------------------------------------

With the soup being handed out, it was time to work on myself. I'm a firm believer in that a Leader needs to be strong, and I can only hope I'm above average in both Swordsmanship and Magic, as I don't know if anyone can teach others Swordsmanship.

I kept reading books on Mana, and there's nothing in relation to Gravity. I guess Gravity really is rare.

I tested it out and currently I'm only capable with making things float, but I have no control in where they float to, they just go upwards. Maybe gravity is useless.

No! I can't have these thoughts, I need to put in effort, I switched swordsmanship.

There was a rapier and I thought I may aswell give it a go, I know Rapiers prod things, but that's about it.

I used reinforcement magic on dummies in the old Sword Practice place, behind my house.

The reinforcement of the weapon was astronomical. I was able to jab three times in the space of two seconds.

Insane. With this, I can maybe help others, however I need to be well versed in all types of swordsmanship.
