Myself and Moe were sat at home trying to learn Magic. We can't read, but their are diagrams to help us.

Apparently, we need to sit with our legs crossed, and close our eyes to initiate our mana to flow through our body. I don't exactly understand any of this, but my Father seemed to be excited for us, so I'll try make him proud.

"Moe, sit like this and close your eyes and try to empty your mind".

I was giving Moe advice since he is still too young to understand most of this, since he is only 9.

Since we were born, our lives were rough. Our City Lord who was in charge took no care for our lives, and even dragged our Mother out of her home at night. We don't know what happens to her in their, however I believe it had something to do with her suicide. I don't hold it against the new City Lord, however it's hard to trust people. Ever since I can remember I had to fight people for food, and to stop people from stealing our food.

It was annoying. Did I deserve any of this?

Without realising, both fire and vibrations were surrounding me.

I had done it. Although, it didn't seem like I was in the position for long, however it was dark outside.

"Moe, are you okay?".

The fire and vibrations stopped as I opened my eyes.

"Yeah look! I can use Water!". Moe's eyes glistened when he produced water.

Almost instantly, he started to drink it.

I giggled to myself and looked at the book.

I couldn't read, but on the diagram it showed that vibrations mean different things, I guess I'll have to see Jay tomorrow.

*JAY POV*

It was night, and I had just gone through the different types of Magic by reading some books in the small library in my home. I was able to find out that Summoning Magic relies on your aptitude for it completely, and only a small percentage of people can learn it, however Elemental and Reinforcement Magic was different. Since everyone in the world is born with a Mana Core, it's possible to use both after finding your affinity, however, it's completely up to your aptitude if you want to get far into the field. You can measure your aptitude with a Stat Crystal, which can usually be found in Adventurer Guilds.

Despite that, I think my Father owned one as he measured a few people before, but I don't know where he kept it, I'll search for it later, for now, I need to learn both Reinforcement and Elemental Magic.

For Elemental Magic, it said in the book that you need to get in a meditation stance as that somehow makes your mana flow into your Mana Core.

Also, your Mana Core starts at Red when you're first born, over time, your Mana Core shifts into a lighter red, however to break into a new colour, you need to find your affinity.

I closed my eyes and meditated, almost instantly I felt changes in my body. What felt like a few minutes, I opened my eyes and books around me were floating.

I looked at the books to see what this meant.

Gravity Magic, which seemed rare as their was little information about it. All was said was that you can make things heavier and make things float.

I looked into a book on Mana Cores, to see what the colours means.

Red: You haven't learned much about Mana, and you haven't found your affinity.

Green: You've found your affinity and able to use Magic.

After Green, all the colours said was that you're capable of holding more Mana, although order after Green was this.

Yellow, Blue, Purple, Silver and Black.

It said not many people are able to get to black level, and when you do, you'd be considered a Magus, and God knows what that is.

After reading on Mana Cores, I wanted to learn how to use Reinforcement Magic.

The book stated that to learn Reinforcement Magic, you need something to Reinforce, whether it be a Weapon, your own body or somebody elses. However, like elemental magic, you need an aptitude for it, and for this, you need to circulate your mana and if nothing happens inside of your body, try holding a weapon to see if mana is injected into that, if that also doesn't work look or hold someone as that means you can use it on others.

I did this for an hour, and nothing happened in my body, and I held a random weapon which was in the armoury. This time, the Weapon had a blue aura surrounding it, which meant it worked, I have an affinity for weapons.

Cool I guess, so Gravity and Weapons, does that mean I need to learn swordsmanship?

As I was deep in thought, someone knocked on the door.

I opened it to be met with a small, skinny girl.

Evie, from earlier.

"Oh, hello, is there something you need?".

"Yes, I learned Fire and another Magic, but I don't know what it is".

Evie avoided eye contact since it hurt her pride to ask others for help.

"Well, what happened when you meditated?".

"Fire surrounded me aswell as the floor started to vibrate".

Evie, who never had an education was somehow articulate with her words.

"Oh! Sound Magic, that's pretty rare you know, well done!".

The young girl went red. "What else do you want us to do?".

"Well, spells don't exist, so you need to work on your Efficiency yourself, and I don't have any Sound Magic books, but I do have fire".

I walked away for a few minutes and came back to hand Evie a book.

"Here, also learn Reinforcment Magic, it's the same as Elemental Magic, except if it doesn't work the first time with nothing, try holding a weapon, and if it doesn't work again hold someone".

Evie didn't say anything, she just nodded her head and left.

I should probably sleep, I have a lot to do tomorrow. I wish I was able to visualise my skills, I really need to find a Stat Crystal.
