Namu knew he should have gone into his next class, but right when Lily had gone into their Runes Two class, he had walked to the Symbols One’s door before turning around and going upstairs instead.
He was done for the day. He was unsettled after he had destroyed that tree.
After he had sucked it dry.
He had to do something to calm himself. Something to get his mind off things.
He headed outside. The warmth of the end of summer surrounded him, but somehow it wasn’t enough. He missed the blazing and blaring construction sites. To hear anything like that now would be nice to drown out his fear.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
The terror he had for his future was becoming too clamorous.
It pounded against his skull every second of every day in the form of anger. He wanted to understand how a school could let what had happened to him happen to a student. He wanted to figure out how to destroy that door.
Namu took out his phone and laid down in the smooth, vibrant green grass. It was perfect because no one else was outside. No one else was around.
He had a text from his little brother Minis. He had sent a picture of him with their dad at a site.
Namu was too empty to reply.
Instead, he opened his gallery and found videos that he sometimes tuned into at night. The nights when his breathing and the beating of his heart were too deafening just like they had been when he was in that metal cocoon.
He played one of the videos and closed his eyes.
The sounds of a demolition resonated with his soul. A building being torn down. Machines carving into what once was a stronghold to build something else.
