Council of seers – 15 years before players enter Royal Road
Hidden away, beyond a maze that would drive any normal man insane, lay the council of seers. They were men who hunted for knowledge, men who had given unimaginable things for small glances into the future; men who were always calm and collected. That was always the case, until now. This place that was seemingly lifeless moments before was suddenly filled with action. Every single seer had received the same vision. They learned of the coming of a new race. A race that could take almost any form and use any power, a race that never experienced true death, a race filled with unimaginable greed. Driven by what they knew would come they began to plan. What they decided was that if they wanted to avoid the slaughter that would inevitably come with the arrival of the new race then they needed a weapon. To beat the undying, they decided to use the undying. To beat power, they would use power. And to beat greed, they would use compassion. And so they sought to create such a weapon the weapon they tried to make was not one of iron, or steel, or even helium, but a weapon made of flesh and blood. To prepare they drew a magic circle of the largest proportions, a circle so large that it can only be understood by observing it from the peak of the world’s highest mountain. To power this circle they took life. Two of each creature was brought and their lifeblood drained. And to use this life they found a vessel. The vessel was a child descending from the highest lineage, one destined for greatness. With these preparations complete, they placed the child in the center of circle and began to cast a spell of the grandest proportions. One thousand seers, chanting in concert, began casting a single spell. This continued for three days. At midnight on the final day, the spell was complete, but they had made a terrible miscalculation. The weapon they had made was unable to be controlled. Simply by existing, the child was draining all of the Seers life energy. As such, they locked the child away and decided to pray. To pray for another way to combat the new race, another way to protect the world from the Freedmen that Gaea would send.
