Strange mutterings floated around him as Jack struggled to gain consciousness. "Virghle erfnwelnwrin jwrfiko" a throaty voiced crooned to his left "knelndnn" another voiced back irritably, "NELFCK!" "Tk linrve." As Jack finally regained consciousness, he opened his eyes to view his assailants, who turned out to be humans. Well not exactly human, more like they looked human to a man who had just barely regained consciousness. As his mind became more clear he noticed that his hands and legs were bound and he was able to make out the subtleties of the forms, crouched a few feet from him.
They seemed to have about human proportions, although their ears stuck out in pointed ends sideways from their heads, they both seemed on the leaner side, although Jack could see that they were not scrawny like him, but wiry underneath their mottled green clothing. Finally he came upon their eyes, round obelisks that were completely green that turned to stare at him with intensity as he began to struggle to escape.
"Vodjw" The one on the right said to the other, Jack noticed he appeared to be in charge of the duo. "ern eilj" replied the other in a hushed tone as it began to creep over to Jack, brandishing a wooden flask. "Woah Woah" our intrepid protagonist stammered, I'm sorry I killed that bug, but please you have to help me, me and my friend smelled this flower an-" he was cut off as the figure shoved the open end of the flask into his mouth. Thick, dirt filled liquid filled Jacks mouth as he fought to keep himself from swallowing, eventually however the downpour was too much, and the liquid burned down his throat.
Oh God, Jack thought, Should have just let the damn grasshopper eat me, now I'm going to be dragged to this psycho's sex dungeon "Better" asked the man, "You'll never take me alive! my teeth are sharp and I swear I will b-wait, you speak english?" The man look confused,"What's english" How the fuck does he not know what language he's speaking? "By any chance, does that liquid make you understand your language?"

"Well of course, you wouldn't have any idea what it is, it's called Sanfril, and yes it allows you to understand and speak our language" He replied with a smile, "I'm Frank by the way." "Nice to meet you Frank, that stuff tastes absolutely awful" Frank chuckled and brought him over to the other man,"This is my fellow ranger, Greg, your name is?" "Jack Reinhart" Jack replied, to which the two men looked at each other, an almost imperceptible flash of shock passing between their eyes. I noticed it. Hence the "almost" idiot.
"Also why do you guys have such normal names?" to which Greg replied "Well since were speaking in our language, the Sanfril probably just gave you the closest approximation in your language, but enough of that, we must be moving, its too late in the day to be standing out in the open like this."
"What do you mean in the open, like are wasp going to swoop in and catch us or something?" Jack questioned worriedly, Never have been so afraid of being eaten so many times in the same day. "There are much more dangerous things in this land than wasps," replied Frank darkly "We must leave quickly." "Yes," affirmed Greg, "The rest of the hunting party will be waiting for us, Jack, we go now to the city of our people, however since you are an outside, you cannot be allowed to know how to get there, I am sorry but this is a sacred tradition"
"I don't know about that bud," shot back Jack, "I don't know who you people are, or what happened to me. In fact I have about a thousand questions for you guys." "Unfortunately we do not have time to answer them, fear not we will do our best to inform you at the city" Greg responded as he began looking over his shoulder at some rustling bushes. "Quickly now we must leave!" He shot at Frank. "Okay fine will you at least help me look for my friend Lisa before we go, I'm sure she's around here somewhere."
"The girl was collected by others in our party, we will meet them in the city soon." Greg whispered, fear in his eyes. Jack picked up on his urgency, now at least confident he wouldn't be alone in this city of... whatever those things are called. I thought you were omniscient? Well spoiling the story is no fun. "Alright then, so how will I get there without knowing the way, are you going to blindfold me or something?"
And, for the second time that very afternoon, Jack was knocked unconscious.
