Chapter 21 I Kill Him

Chapter 21 I Kill Him

His arm swung so hard onto some object that it had cut through the skin, blood started to drip on the floor. I hurried and grabbed onto his arm and pulled it toward the back. The blood was staining my clothes.

Ayaya…………not another wound again!

He really had lost his mind due to the poison, but there seemed to be endless energy inside of him. We only got hold of him for a couple of seconds, before another uncontrollable burst of energy came out, and soon we lost hold again.

I was so afraid that he would freaking bite his own tongue!

I knew nothing about poisons, but based on his reactions. There was a possibility that the Death Berry toxins were fighting against that unknown chronic one, and that was the reason he was so painful.

Still, there was no recovery. Could it be that one of the poison was winning against the other, and now he was actually getting killed by one of them?

If he was actually getting killed by the Death Berries, that meant we had overdose on him and there was really nothing we could do at this point.

But if that chronic poison was so powerful that required more berries, we had no more berries on hand. We did not even expect this chronic poison to be this dominant in the first place, but……………

My eyes lit up.

I must have gone nuts!

Out of all these hassles, I somehow managed to get hold of the Spotty Boar’s holy pearl in my pocket.

“LiNa, what are you planning to do!?” Grandpa Jin was astounded.

In the speed of light, I shoved that holy pearl into his mouth, and covered it with my hands so he wouldn’t spit it out!

One of his arms got free of hold, and grabbed onto my wrist like steel! I felt as if my wrist was about to crush into dust!

Through his bronze mask, I could clearly see his bloodshot eyes were staring hard on me. He definitely wanted to kill me with all his might, for I had fed him poisons two times now.

His facial features were all twisted, fighting hard to not swallow that holy pearl!

But I was determined!

I covered his mouth with every force in my body, although I was sweating crazily and tired of all this wrestling.

He sent me that “death sentence” glance again……….

Stare……….

And stare…………

Finally swallowing the pearl down…………

Then fell hard on the ground, UNCONSCIOUS!

He did not budge a hair now, so pale and lifeless.

Oh my lord, did I just freaking kill him?

Grandpa Jin hurried and touched the pulse on his neck, and then shook his head with disappointment, and looked away.

Did I….did I….oh lord, I did kill him!

My eyes started to fog up, then burst into tears.

“Oh, he’s dead……..he’s dead!”

I buried my face in my hands, for I had no face to see him again. It was my idea to feed him Death Berries, and it was also my fault to give that pearl to him, not knowing the consequences of doing so.

It was different if he died from natural causes than from my own hands. Now my hands were forever bloody, and there was no way of washing away the guilt. It would live inside of me forever.

“He’s…..dead…..It’s all……my fault……”

A hand gently landed on my shoulders, and the voice was soft.

“LiNa, it’s not your fault, don’t blame yourself. We have tried our best. Now he will be back to the embrace of Goddess Aniela, and will be resting in peace. LiNa, he will understand us, for we have tried everything.”

Nope, how could an ungrateful person be forgiving at all! He would surely never forgive me, and probably haunt my dreams every night from now on! Would he freaking capture my soul in the middle of the night for revenge?

Bro! Although I didn’t like you for the slightest bit, I had no intention of killing you at all. Never come back to the mortal world, okay, never come back at all!

As I was praying deeply inside, that “dead man” suddenly sat up like a corpse rose from the dead!

“Ayayaaaaaa!”

I screamed and backed away!

He stared blankly toward the front, and then unexpectedly turned sideways and coughed out a mouthful of black blood!

I was stunned!

All the black veins on his neck, face, and hands started to retrieve, and finally completely gone at all. His eyes returned to normal color, and looked more like a living being again.

After coughing up a ton of blood, he fell back on the ground and was unconscious again. Grandpa Jin was calm as a piece of cake, as if nothing could scare him. He went over and touched his pulse.

“What a miracle!”

He chuckled, “It’s all due to that holy pearl. The Spotty Boar is one of the most poisonous creatures on this continent, but it was enough to combat that unknown poison inside of him. LiNa, he’s alive all because of you.”

Surprisingly I did not feel praised at all, but more like glad that he was not “murdered” in my hands.

We helped to carry him back to the bed, and cleaned this messy room.

I ended up having to bandage his new wound, and wiped him clean again. I was back to being a “nanny” for over two weeks while he was recovering from all the injuries. Demons did recover much quicker than humans. It didn’t really take much for him to look alive again. This time I did not complain too much for being a nanny, for it was better than having a dead person at home.

Still, that didn’t mean I like that dude at all.

That dude didn’t speak a single word, not even a thank you or a clearing of his throat. If he would have smiled to show his gratitude, I wouldn’t have been so grumpy. He was nothing but an icy statue that had no emotions.

One thing he did not do at least, was complained about how I “torture” and pinch his wounds to neither Grandpa Jin or Grandma Sha. In that sense, he was a man and kept it all down to himself, and good thing he wouldn’t speak, otherwise who knew what he would say.

Plus I had literally saved his life, what would a little pinching do, right?

“Hey, Iceberg, boil some water and wash the clothes.” I tugged a basket of dirty laundry to the hands of that cold faced young man.

He never even spoke, so how in the world would I know his name?

I didn’t want to call him hey every time, therefore I gave him a name instead. Iceberg was a perfect name for him. Since he didn’t say a word of rejection, so why not?

Occasionally he would give me this “death sentence” stare again, liked right now holding the basket and looked as if never done any house work before. He was all recovered now, so he should help out with the housework instead of just eating and napping all the time.

“Nothing is free, okay, you eat here, then you contribute!” I was stricter than a mom.

He was like a statue staring at me emotionlessly, and then somehow I could tell his mouth corner just went up the slightest bit………..

Uh oh………

That was not a good sign!

Like I expected, he just tossed that bamboo basket into the snow!

All the dirty laundry flew off and the old basket also cracked!

There was literally smoke rising above my head, I tried super hard holding it back inside. He knew this household was poor, that we didn’t have much resources here. This was the only bamboo basket here, and he freaking just ruined it!

It wasn’t like he was so much younger than me. Based on appearance, he looked at least twenty years old in human age, but he acted like a younger brother. Nope, sometimes he acted like an evil and spoiled brat!

He was not only ungrateful, but also rude, extremely rude!

“Jerk!” I swore at him.

He seemed insulted, but swallowed it down and walked away.

Now he was all better, I just prayed every night that he would just leave and I would never see that guy again.
