Fortunately the need for the young men to impress ladies was never ending. Three guys at the same time charged towards Uwataga from different directions and even though his explosive strength had multiplied, his speed didn’t. Attackers had learned from Roland’s failure and didn’t take any of Uwataga’s hits head on. They continued to evade and fell back from time to time basically bullying him three on one.
In a blink of an eye Uwataga was once again covered in wounds, but compared to the agonizing pain he felt after taking the blood pill, this looked more like the attackers were trying to tickle him to death. He persisted through few more exchanges and soon this persistence was rewarded. One of the attackers was forced to block his slash and was cut in halves.
“Elsa! Let’s go! We can’t let him slaughter any more innocents!” Lady Evelyn’s daughter, Etessa, shouted drawing her claymore.
Both her weapon and elemental affinity were better suited to fight such opponent and even though the guy was running out of fuel, he was still dangerous.
Uwataga looked back at her with weird expression, but didn’t respond to the idea of killing the innocent attackers who came to destroy his home and kill him. The other pretty girl had joined the fray and her incredible speed clearly pointed at her possessing the wind affinity – the one he disliked the most.
He could even manage earth affinity cultivators and cut through their defenses, but even sparring with his little brother made him annoyed even though brother’s cultivation was weaker. The wind element cultivators were f*cking annoying!
After evading another collective attack while getting a couple of new cuts on his body, Uwataga took a deep breath to calm down and resist the urge to charge at the blonde disregarding the consequences. So what if he hated the wind cultivators? His brother was also one!
Then he smiled to himself and quickly swallowed three more pills.
‘Ok, little bro! The I’ll leave the rest to you!’ He thought and for the first time since the start of the battle roared to the sky.
The attackers didn’t intend to let him rest and continued their attacks, but to their great shock Uwataga’s swollen and bloodied body suddenly deflated. In a quick succession he blocked most of the attacks coming his way in the process loosing his left arm, but completely ignored that and charged towards Etessa.
“God, no!” Up above lady Evelyn exclaimed and intended dive down, but was immediately obstructed by Maramasa.
Fortunately her daughter’s instincts were good enough to realize the incoming danger and she rapidly retreated leaving no chance for Uwataga to catch up.
Seeing his attempt to kill her directly had failed, he smiled for the last time and the next moment another loud boom echoed through the battlefield. The last Core formation cultivator from the Voodoo sect had fallen. None of them had been taken alive and most had left this world by detonating their own cores and taking a bunch of people with them.
The last one, Uwataga, also departed in a similar fashion with the intent to kill the Sacred Order’s sect master’s daughter, but unfortunately failed. He didn’t notice how at the very last moment one of the attackers, the prodigy of the Wave sect, Heinrich Mayer, dived right in front of Etessa and took the most damage from the blast while shielding her.
Now, bloodied all over, he lied in her arms while she was still dizzy from the explosion. Not knowing what to do or where to put her hands, she awkwardly held him while the youth coughed up some blood, but then gathered his last strength and said, “I have always loved you!”
Etessa was still half deaf, but she could read as much from his lips.
She awkwardly scratched the back of her head not knowing how to properly respond, but then politely smiled and said with a nod, “Thank you!”
Either that was a normal grimace of someone dying or Heinrich actually gave her a weird look before passing away, Etessa had no clue. But since this guy wasn’t one from their own sect she didn’t care as much anyway. Of course, he had been their ally and his death was tragic, but after the war was over his name will be carved in the stone of remembrance to never become forgotten.
Witnessing the demise of his own son Maramasa sighed. It was a long shot from the beginning and even though the girl survived, Mumasa will have plenty of opportunities in the future.
Now there was nothing left for him to do here, therefore he looked at lady Evelyn and said, “Happy? Now you’re the overlord of the Aurora mortal realm.”
“This mortal realm belongs to its people!” She proudly said, “You, on the other hand, have done enough evil deeds!”

“It’s over.” The old sect master of the Voodoo sect arrived at the side of his son.
The earlier events pained him as much as Maramasa, but there was nothing they could’ve done differently. They did let down their ancestors, but that didn’t mean they were not going to pay back this debt with interest. In few years time the sects of this realm will cease to exist one after another.
“Let’s go. There is nothing left for us to do here.” He said.
“Stop!” Lady Evelyn commanded and the faces of Maramasa and his father turned weird.
“And why would we do that?” Maramasa asked, “And how exactly are you going to force us?”
“Since there are serious allegations of you associating with the corrupt path and maybe even belonging to it, there is no way our righteous sect will allow you to escape!” Lady Evelyn proudly said.
Just when Maramasa intended to laugh in her face, his own expression turned grave. In the four cardinal directions around the sect appeared several people in familiar clothing. They were dressed just like the man who stood next to Christopher Delian a day ago, except these held strange looking flags in their hands.
“I see you are set to erase the Voodoo sect from existence. Even though we’ve been competitors for centuries, I never expected you to stoop so low as to come up with false accusations and even employ forces from the Immortal realm to deal with us.” Maramasa said.
He knew the newcomers were holding some kind of formation flags in their hands, but didn’t know for sure what they were.
He had a speculation though that his father immediately confirmed, “Let me guess – the barrier they just erected is to prevent any Nascent soul stage cultivators in physical or nascent soul form from escaping?”
Lady Evelyn only harrumphed in return, but the old sect master of the Sacred Order loudly commanded, “Initiate the search! Leave no stone unturned!”
“We represent the sects from the righteous path!” For the first time Laura Cloud, the sect master of Angelic Dawn sect spoke. Her voice was soft and the words she spoke came and went as a gust of wind, “There won’t be any actions against you if no implicating evidence is found.”
Maramasa and his father realized that the only thing they could currently do was to go all out and try to take as many Nascent soul stage cultivators with them as possible, but while their souls would be captured after the bodies were destroyed, the ones they killed would recover or create new bodies given enough time. In addition, technically there was no need to be weary – during the last month they made sure the last bits of forbidden techniques and items were destroyed and the only problem was questionable impartiality of the attacking side.
From what it looked like, the Sacred Order was prepared for the thorough search of the Voodoo sect beforehand. The Core foundation stage experts quickly formed groups consisting of Foundation establishment cultivators and led them to specific sectors inside the sect while the disciples at the Qi gathering stage began to clean up the battlefield.
There were few who remained behind and secured the captives, but their work became trivial the moment the old sect master from the Sacred Order flew over. All the previous Voodoo sect’s members behaved like they were tamed circus animals – they sat on the ground forming neat rows and pretended to be asleep or stared into nothingness. If not for the foreign troops busying around the former Voodoo sect, one might think the place had become tranquil and peaceful. That and if there was no thick stench of blood in the air, of course.
In the far end of the sect, Leo was still hiding in the little hut near the ocean. After the distant battle sounds and the explosions died down and neither Bimpo nor Onataka returned, he realized that most likely the defenders had lost.
Obviously it didn’t have anything to do with him – the problem was that since he only wore the short skirt, he was actually dressed as a member of the Voodoo sect. What if the attackers came and found him looking like this?
Unfortunately in the hut there were only sacks and boxes with dried herbs and powders used as the base for bathing recipes. Clearly it was better to be found naked than in the skirt so Leo resolutely took it off, but after few moments he got an idea.
He took one of the larger sacks, poured out the herbs it contained and tore out three more holes. Then he wore the sack as if it was a short robe and used a rope as a belt. After verifying he looked completely different from the sect members, Leo once again hid between the sacks. Even though the local forces were defeated, there was no guarantee that the attackers would be friendly to him – there was no need to risk it.
Leo didn’t know how long he hid and apparently the medicinal aroma of the herbs helped him to fall asleep, because at some point he suddenly was woken up by distant voices.
He could hear several people were approaching and they chatted and laughed, clearly being in a good mood. Leo recognized the language – it was the one he was taught for the past month. Of course, he was far from being fluent in it, but his knowledge was enough to understand they were searching for something or somebody.
“Looks like this is the spot where they took the cleansing baths.” Leo heard a young man say.
“Sigh, how barbaric.” A soft and sweet girl’s voice commented.
“You two! Check out the tubs. Since no one is using them there shouldn’t be any water inside.” Another girl commanded, but her voice still sounded pleasant, even somewhat melodic.
Leo heard a sound of wood breaking and water splashing what was followed by the group loudly laughing in amusement.
“Would you look at that!” Another young man mocked while trying to gain favor at the same time, “Lady Etessa’s intuition as always was correct! These two wise guys decided to hide under the water while breathing air through straws.”
“Send them to the others!” The second girl commanded again, “What’s with the hut?”
“Right away, lady Etessa!” Leo heard a guy shouting and the next moment the door to his hideout was kicked wide open.
While in hiding until he fell asleep, Leo wrecked his brain trying to figure out the best way to appear weak and harmless. Clearly no one in their right mind would kill a child, but he kind of hoped to get transferred to a better place with more cultivation resources or at least a better food. It was still fine while he lived at the ocean side with the two mother tuckers, but after he was moved to live with the regular outer sect disciples, his diet took a big hit because of the disgusting porridge they had daily so now he really prayed for a change.
Leo went through multiple scenarios, but none seemed to be promising and in the end he decided to go by the flow and somehow wing it.
