The next few days were quite busy for me. Apart from the elves, witches and beastmen, the dwarves as well as some other country representatives made their way to my office to buy some land and I had to do some mental gymnastics to make sure ‘enemies’ don’t live next to each other.
‘Apparently, living close to a world tree, where the mana purity and density is unmatched, was very desirable to some.’ I smirked.
‘Expensive for them, too.’
I had made an obscene amount of money over the past few days that just alleviated all my pressing financial problems. A large portion of the money went to the city’s coffers to be used under strict supervision and the rest went to my personal account. Yes, it was that much.
What was I going to do with that much money, you ask? I smirked.
“Resort town, sir?” John asked in the meeting I had called. It involved my, sort of, cabinet of higher ups for the city.
“Yes. Over the past few months, the curse has been pushed back on the coast north west of here. We’ll begin with building the resort I have planned.”
“Again, I must ask. Resort, sir?” I looked at John.
‘How should I explain this.’
“I want to build a resting place, a….paradise, if you will, for people and the level of service they receive will be tied to how much is paid. A city will be built around the resort to facilitate a part of its economy and production. Here are the plans.”
The resort I had planned was a semicircle facing the ocean. I needed a power source for the city wards and other runic things I had planned, so I was going to produce a very large whitefyre orb that would power everything. All the buildings I had designed for the hotel were state of the art with innovations not seen here before.
“Very well sir, should we call the builders?”
“Yes, only the best of the best will do. Have them start with a teleportation arc to make things easier, then go from there.”
‘The best builders were the dwarves and they are really expensive but hey, they had an innate sense for building and could keep a secret.’
“Good, meeting adjourned.” I got up and left the meeting room and walked to my office.
Today was the banquet and all the preparations had been met. The venue had long been decided to be the emperor’s home in the city.
‘Well, home is a little bit of an understatement.’
Later that night, I was on my way to the banquet hall. I was slightly irritated because I was stopped multiple times by multiple people who wanted to speak to me, and I had to, out of courtesy, speak to them as the host, well, ‘host’. I entered the hall proper after being announced and was instantly swarmed.

‘Yeah, this is why I hate parties.’ I eventually separated myself from the mob and got a moment to myself when-
“Solis Whitefyre, or should I say Heartree now.”
‘Shit.’ I turned to see who it was.
‘Ah, it’s you.’
“Fiona Medici, pleasure to meet you again.” Along with your posse of followers. She brought up a fan and covered the bottom half of her face.
“The pleasure is mine, Solis.” She fluttered her eyes at me and a slight blush covered her cheeks. I raised my brows.
‘What?’
“Can we have some time to ourselves?” She said in this somewhat sultry voice as she took a step forward.
‘Is she really trying to seduce me right now? Who does she think I am?’ I was just about to reject when-
“Solis!” Serena ambled over while dragging Draco along.
“Tsk” I heard from Fiona.
‘Ahh! I heard that. Do you hate her so much that you would even crack your facade? If so.’ I smiled at Serena.
“I didn’t know you were here, I would have taken some time to show you around.” The expression of both Serena and Fiona sputtered slightly at my overly familiar tone and I took advantage of that to charge ahead.
“Fiona, you of course know Serena? Of course you’re familiar with her paramour Draco. Draco, Serena, this is Fiona Medici.” I introduced them all in quick succession. Serena, being the expert she was, was able to recover the quickest.
“Of course I know her. Fiona, it’s lovely to see you again!” She went in and hugged her.
‘This bitch is hardcore. Stealing her fiance then smiling like friends in her face. Stone cold.’
“I didn't get the opportunity to talk to you last semester and I wanted to. I had no idea we would be meeting so soon.” She said in a smiley fashion while holding both Fiona’s hands. She then turned to her boyfriend.
“Draco, it’s Fiona. Come greet her.” Everyone apart from Serena and well, me, had an uncomfortable look on their faces.
“Fiona, you’re looking well.” Draco got out uncomfortably.
“Draco.” Fiona said with clenched teeth. Draco cleared his throat and stood up straighter.
“How is your family? I hope all is going well?” Even I cringed at that.
‘This is the most awkward situation I think I’ve been in for a while. But hey, I get my entertainment wherever I can.’
Fiona twitched slightly, before pulling her hand from Serena’s grasp. She spoke in a low tone towards Draco.
“Will you never cease to embarrass me, Pendragon?” She clenched the fan in her hand till it broke.
“Wha-” Draco started but was interrupted.
“I will not soon forget your slight.” She then turned to me and completely transformed to the epitome of a lovely flower.
“Unfortunately, we couldn’t speak more privately. My father and I would have liked to speak to you.”
‘There it is, you honey pot.’
“Tell your father we might meet each other during the banquet, we’ll talk then.” She nodded at me then turned and left, completely ignoring the other two people.
“She really hates you, you know?”
“I know.” Draco replied to me.
“Don't worry, I’m sure she’ll come around.” Serena said while cuddling up to him.
‘The nerve she has, it really is hilarious. And Fiona knows she can’t touch her because Serena herself is so exceptional that she is being protected by people who want to see her grow and improve the medical community more than she already has. Never mind that she is powerful.’
“I’m sure she will.” I added on with a slight smile.
‘Hey, who said I can't troll them.’
