Taking out the Great wolf's teeth and claws, I scrutinized them.
The teeth were around twenty centimetres long, while the claws were around thirty- centimetres.
The teeth were in an uneven cone-like shape with a slight bend at the end, while the claws were mostly flat and curved. Both of them could be well utilised as daggers and throwing knives.
There were three claws and two teeth that Elizabeth managed to take from the beast.
Standing up, I picked the sharpest claw and assumed a stance. Daggers were my speciality; I used them more than any other weapon that existed.
Although I had picked a sword for its range at the beginning of the tutorial, I had a feeling that this claw would serve as a better weapon than that sword.
The base of the claw, that is, the part that was inside the wolf's body, was not sharp like the blade and the edge. It made holding the claw easier than I had initially anticipated.
I swung the claw around, trying to get a feel for it. It was lighter than the sword and sliced through the air almost perfectly.
I practiced my stances and tried different slashes and jabs with the claw. After around half an hour, I picked up a tooth of the Great Wolf.
The tooth was super light and sharp. Its edge wasn't the sharpest, but its tip was sharper than anything I had ever seen. It had the shape of a cone but was small enough that I could grip it properly.
I went towards a tree, picked up a small rock from the ground, and engraved an 'X' on the tree. After that, I assumed a position twenty metres in front of the tree and aimed at the cross mark. I concentrated on the point and threw the fang-like I would throw a knife. Unfortunately, it didn't land on the spot.
It was most probably because, while throwing a knife, it needs to be spun so that it is able to accurately hit the target. But, since the tooth didn't have as sharp an edge as a knife, it couldn't spin properly and dropped to the ground. Maybe throwing it straight at the target without spinning it would be the better option.
I picked up the tooth from the ground and aimed it at the centre of the trunk. This time I didn't spin it at all and threw it in an almost linear line, giving it just the slightest arch it needed.
Yes! It hit the tree just beside the mark, I had assumed. This was definitely the right way to do it. Just a bit of practice, and it will hit the bullseye.
I kept throwing different fangs of the great wolf at the tree until I was able to hit the mark with all of them.
My wrist ached a little after throwing the teeth for almost an hour. I sat on the ground, reclining my back on the tree.
That's when a sudden thought hit me! How could I even see at night!?! Even though things were not as visible as they were in the morning, I could make out all the shapes around me, even though it should have been impossible to perceive these details in the pitch darkness of the night.
Was it because of the moon? The moon and the stars were bright tonight, but this was different.
Peaking inside the forest, I could even see places where the moonlight couldn't have reached.
Was this a skill? How did I even acquire it?

I examined my status screen with the utmost concentration. What did I miss?
The Great Snake's protege? Come to think of it, snakes are able to see at night, although in infrared. Was my being able to see in the dark an effect of this title?

The great snake? Did it mean Caligo? What does it mean that he has 'chosen me'? What even goes on in his mind? The last time we met, he kept talking about how he helped me solve cases and saved me from sticky situations. But, he also said that he was the one who put me in those situations in the first place.
What did he want? Was he just toying with me?
Now that I have time to think about it, who are Luke and Yinghuo? What is their goal? If a guide is provided to the Librarian, then why are those two in the Library too?
Luke's presence was unlike anything that I had ever felt before. It felt like God himself was staring directly at me and deciding my fate.
Even though not as much as Luke, Yinghuo too had a presence comparable to a deity.
Why were there two such beings in the Eternal Library? Is this a normal occurrence in the tower?
Caligo was the weirdest of the three of them. He said that he read and even controlled some of my thoughts. Was he reading my thoughts, even now?
I have more questions than solutions. Most probably, those three will be able to provide me with some answers the next time I meet them.
Come to think of it, I had not viewed the information on the 'Librarian' title yet.

Librarian candidate? I thought I was already a "real" librarian. How do I even prove my worth?
Those things could be thought about at a later time. It was no use thinking about stuff like that right now.
I wonder where to assign my stat points? Both my agility and arcane are lacking behind the others.
Even though I am tempted to increase my arcane right now, it would be best to save my stat points later.
Almost four hours had passed since I came outside to stand guard. The sun had also started rising from behind the trees. It would be best if we set out for the forest at the break of dawn.
I got up and went inside the cave to wake up the others.

Luke, Yinghuo, and Caligo were seated on different couches placed inside a large bright white room. The walls of the room were covered with shelves and filled with books.
While Yinghuo and Caligo were talking to each other, Luke was busy reading a book whose title was written in an ancient language.
"So Caligo, tell me about Nox. What is he like?" asked Yinghuo.
"Nox? Why do you ask? I am sure you already know all there is to know about him," answered Caligo, his lips curved upwards to form a weird smile.
"I don't know everything about everyone, Caligo. The guy sitting there does..." said Yinghuo as he pointed his finger at Luke.
Luke looked up from his book for a moment but returned to reading without a word.
"Kekekee… indeed… Very well then, I will tell you a bit about him then," replied Caligo.
"Sure," replied Yinghuo, making a 'go ahead' gesture with his hands.
"Nox. He has an interesting character. He mainly enjoys acting dumb, like an average person, when he is out in public. You could say that he doesn't like to stand out very much. He's always calm and tries to do as many kind deeds as he can. It is near impossible for others to make him lose his calm," explained Caligo.
"He almost seems like a pushover," said Yinghuo, rolling his eyes.
Caligo's eyes squinted as a broad smile appeared on his face. One would be amazed by how much his lips could stretch while smiling if one saw him.
"If Nox heard you say that, he would actually be relieved that people think of him like that," said Caligo, laughing.
"Why? Is there another side to him?" inquired Yinghuo, a little shocked by Caligo's reaction.
"He is... what I would call... the perfect balance of good and evil… albeit his evil side seldom surfaces," responded Caligo.
"What!?" exclaimed Yinghuo.
"Although he has taken that side out only a handful of times; when he did take them out, even I quivered," replied Caligo, his eyes looking at the floor, thinking back to a memory of long ago.
"What do you mean?" asked Yinghuo, calming himself down.
"Let me tell you a brief story... There was once a man named Jerrin… He was the one on whom Nox leaned when everybody left him alone.
One day that man was killed for some trivial human reason... That day, he lost his cool for the first time. The destruction he caused to find the murderers and what he did to the murderers forced me to rethink my opinion of him...
He may be an angel most of the time, but when the darkness inside him surfaces, he becomes much more than just a demon; he becomes... Pure Evil."
