CHAPTER 5: HOME UNDER ATTACK!
Kram could see specs of demons leaping from the dragon and landing around the village. One crashed into the hut that belonged to Kriki and he could hear screams. Baki raced beside his son, his eyes widened in horror.
“Kram, get your mother and run to the other side!” he said as he grabbed his spear and ran out without wearing a shirt.
Kram’s father shouted, getting the villagers awake. Kram knew they could not fight so they would have to flee.
“Mother, we need to leave!” he said.
He led his mother out of the battle and stopped. She stopped with him.
“Mother, keep going. When you reach the sharp point rock, use the small path and go into the forest. Keep going until you can’t anymore.”
“What about you?” she said.
“I need to check up on father, make sure he is okay.” He said, turning to head back to the village. “We’ll catch up with you! And when you are happy to see me, let me suckle some milk!”
“You can try your luck but considering I haven’t had a baby, I’m pretty dry!” she shouted back before following her son’s instruction.
Kram saw his father, shouting in the streets. He wondered why his father was making such a spectacle of himself. He realized he was protecting the villagers, trying to warn them while also distracting the demons, so the rest of the villagers could flee.
Three demons surrounded Baki and he knew he was in trouble. Baki gathered his power. Green energy swirled around his stretched arm before forming half a spear. It shot out and the demon intercepted the green spear with a punch cloaked in Yokai energy which obliterated the spear construct.
It was the first time he had seen his father use magic of any kind and it was pretty pathetic.
One of the demons coated his boomerang with yokai energy before he threw it. His father dodged it. The boomerang curved round. He tried to dodge it again but it scratched him, letting the poisonous yokai energy seep into him. The poison was not strong enough to hold him down. His father hefted the spear at the demon and killed him.

An arrow slammed into Baki at the back.
“No!” Kram shouted. He was about to rush to him.
His father looked at him and held his hand out. “Go!”
Another arrow found its place at his back. He tried to run away but his path was blocked by another demon with a dagger, who ran him through, ending his life.
“Father!” Kram felt tears well up. It was the first time he had cried for another human. His sorrow was replaced by anger. He knew he could not defeat two demons at his current state but he wanted vengeance for his father.
He was about to charge when he heard crying. He looked to the side and saw Kriki crying, curled up into a tiny ball.
“Kriki?”
She looked up at him. “Kram, my mom and dad… they… the demons…”
Kram came to his senses and held her hands. “Kriki, we need to leave.”
He put her hands around his shoulders and gave her a piggyback ride. He looked back to the last of his family living goat, rest lying in a bloody mess.
“Two Horns, come!” Kram said as he exited the village, the goat following him.
He looked back in time to see the necro dragon blasts twin beams from its eyes, making their village explode. Kram had to leap to the side, dropping Kriki while he too fell.
He rose to his feet and glared at the demon. The demon’s hands were cloaked in yokai energy.
“Ready to die, human scum?” the demon charged and reached out to touch Kram with his poisonous touch.
Kram ducked under his outstretched arm and raised his fist to punch the demon under the chin, causing him to stumble back. Kram leapt up and as he came down, he did it with his fist with all its fury.
“This is for my village!” he said his tiny baby fist making contact with the demon’s face. “This is for Kriki!” Another chubby fist which send the demon reeling back. “This is for my goat!” The bones of his fist cracked with that one. “And this is for my father!” his other hand also broke as the demon stumbled back, bruised and bloodied.
The demon looked at the human boy before him with great fear then back at the edge of the cliff that Kram had almost punched him down. Then, through his swollen eyes, the demon saw that Kram’s hands were hanging limply at his side and he smirked, knowing the boy could no longer use his hands.
The demon gathered all his energy in his hands. “Now you die, filth!”
He reached out for Kram, whod dove back to avoid his arms that grasped empty air. In mid air, Kram split his legs and Two Horns leapt through his legs and slammed his horns into the demon, sending him flying off the cliff.
Kram got off the ground where he had landed.
“Kram… you did it?” Kriki said in awe.
“Come on, we don’t have time!” He said, making her get up as the two ran side by side.
They reached the bottom of the mountain and ran into the forest. There they found the rest of the villagers. His mother ran to him when she saw him walk in and hugged him tightly.
“Kram, thank goodness you are safe.” She said, as he limply stood there. “Where is your father?”
“I’m sorry mother,” he said, looking away from her.
Her lips quivered and she cried, pressing her face into his neck and he stood there. Unable to hug his mother found out she was a widow.
