After disgracing the small turban robber, Chloe left the desert village. She went far enough away so that she could no longer see the village. She then gathered up her mana and began casting a spell. This was the same teleportation spell that James had used to bring her here. Though James could cast it quickly due to his large pool of mana and the fact that his body had used spells enough to get used to them, she was forced to take longer. Unless she desired to be thrown across space and time and never return, this was her only option.
Despite the peaceful and unhurried situation she was in, having previously used spells of higher tier in a shorter amount of time, she was unsatisfied with her casting speed. Though she was unsatisfied, her casting speed was a mere four seconds. In Ionis, the average magician couldn’t even cast a spell that drained as much mana like the teleportation spell. For those that could, they required minutes, and sometimes even hours, for those that were new to the spell. Even if the mana of multiple mages were combined in a formation, it would still take a full minute.
With a twisting of space, Chloe vanished. She reappeared in her apartment, a few inches above the floor. She hovered in the air for a second due to the warping of space, then landed as it returned to normal. She let out a breath and opened her eyes. It was not very wise to gaze upon what lied in between two spaces. Her mind blanked as she took in the scene before her. Two men in black clothes were gently putting her laptop into a backpack. A vein popped in Chloe’s head.
The fact that those two left alive could be considered as having physical strength and tremendous luck.
~Fresno, California. 12:31:55 am. December 27, 2044.~
It was nearly Christmas, and Chloe had bought some small decorations. She didn’t have a job, nor did she have a steady source of income, but she felt confident that she could mooch off her brother’s and her own bank account. After all, almost every 18 year-old had a bank account in America. While she was born to a middle-class family, it soon became a high-class family after her mother won the lottery. With this money, she went back to college and got her doctorates. She then went on to become a software designer for the famous company Watermelon*. With the money she made, she and Chloe’s father moved to Hawaii and lived a relaxing life, completely ignoring their children.
However, they did not leave them with nothing. Both Chloe’s and Daniel’s bank accounts were absolutely loaded. If all of it was converted into cash, it would be enough to fill up more than one briefcases. Every month, living expenses were transferred into their accounts. However, checking her account online, there hadn’t been a transfer in roughly nine years. It made sense, considering that her parents had obviously heard about LOWG trapping everyone inside.
As Chloe thought this, burning curiosity arose in her heart. What had happened to Nadisign? Did Nadisign know about this part of their ‘game’? By now, Chloe knew that LOWG was not simply a game. The world she had lived in as Neo had not been fake. After all, she saw Neo’s body with her real body’s eyes, and she had traveled between worlds. That only left one question.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
What exactly Nadisign do to connect two worlds together?
During the beta, LOWG was indeed game-like. The NPCs all acted like NPCs, proven by the many videos of NPCs running into walls and continuing to walk forward, falling for player trolls, and the obvious lack of reaction from royal guards when players held their weapons out in the open in a throne room. However, the world instantly became real when the Gatemaster had used the Gate. It could be proven that Ionis was a real world, as there was no way there could be hundreds of thousands of NPCs indistinguishable from real people, each with their own personality and backstory. This brought forth another question.
Did Nadisign connect the worlds, or did it create one?
Chloe saw what had happened when the Gatemaster used the Gate, but when she though back to it, her memories were clouded. She could not remember a single thing about what had happened after all life died! She though as hard as she could, even going to the extent of using dangerous memory spells, but she could not remember the events that had happened. The only bit she could glean from her broken memories was the feeling of time and space being greatly changed. Another question arose in her mind.
Was I transported, or was Ionis transported?
Chloe did not know when the virtual became the real, but the changing of time and space came near the end of her broken memories. She could tell from the nature of the change that something had been transported an extreme distance, but she was unsure of what. If she and the other players were transported, then that meant that someone of Lilia’s caliber would probably be able to do it once or twice in an extended period of time. But if the entire planet of Ionis itself was transported…
It must be understood that the total surface area of Ionis was far greater than Earth. Apparently, it even rivaled that of Uranus, making it around 5,042,800,047 mi (8,115,600,000 km) in surface area. Earth was 316,940,069 mi (510,065,600 km) in comparison. To move a planet of that size, by Chloe’s estimates, even Lilia, who held the class of [Worlds God], could not move it without millions of years of gathering mana. Her power should be more emphasized by the fact that she was not a [World God], but a [Worlds God].
Chloe was simply unable to fathom the amount of power required to move that sort of planet. If someone could actually transport a planet of that size a distance spanning multiple light-years, there was no reason for them to restrict themselves as a simple founder and CEO of a company on a mageless planet like Earth. In fact, there would be no reason at all for them to bother with the mortal world. Someone capable of performing a feat like moving Ionis light-years away would already be a god, no questions about it. It was at this point, another thought struck Chloe.
What if it was neither the planet nor the players that were transported, but the NPCs?
That would be far more plausible that transporting Ionis light-years away. Lilia would most likely be able to be this a number of times, even. Though it requires the transport of many more people, they were far weaker than the players. The stronger a person it is, the harder it is to transport them without letting them resist. Though there were strong NPCs, almost none of them were likely a match for veteran players and no-lifers. However, there were still other possibilities and questions floating in Chloe’s mind.
What if the planet was created, and then the players were transported?
Were the NPCs created, or were they already there?
How were our game bodies created?
Did they already exist?
Who was behind it all?
What does Nadisign have to do with this?
Chloe held her head and groaned. All of her excessive thinking had given her a headache. Sighing, she looked at her laptop. The internet has Go*gle for one reason, and one reason only. To answer questions!
