CHAPTER 8: The Other Survivor
Kim
It was supposed to be a peaceful summer vacation, but it turned out to be so tragic.
*step* *step*
Kim hid in the closet, her hand covered her mouth to keep her breaths from reaching their ears. Tears flooded her face, but she didn`t dare to make a sound.
*step*
She felt fear rising from within her heart when she heard the footsteps stop in front of the closet, and did her best to stop all her movements.
Panic filled her face when she saw a glowing yellow eye peer into the gaps between the closet doors, moving from left to right.
Relief did not wash over her body when the glowing eye retreated, instead the panic seemed to grow ‘What if it`s just tricking me?’ seemed to be the only thought on her mind.
*step* *step* *step*
Her face hardened as she realized that it was still there, merely stepping in place.
‘It found out!’ Her mind only knows panic, however she still kept quiet. She held onto the hope that the monst—
*creeeeaak*
It opened the closet and started to throw clothes out. When the green-skinned monster found that the closet was truly empty, he let out a displeased grunt before walking downstairs.
Kim almost had a heart attack inside the hidden compartment. Her strained eyes closed to express her relief, but then in the next moment, the waterworks started as she whimpered softly.
She didn`t know what that thing was, but she is sure of one thing.
That monster killed her grandparents.

A few hours have already passed, and Kim was still cowering inside the closet.
She was too afraid to let her guard down, to leave this space she made in the closet.
She was isolated, from the monsters and the threat they pose for her.
It was at this moment that she heard a yell.
A yell filled with so much anger and hate, she was able to hear and understand it, even with the walls muffling it to a good degree.
She felt scared at first, but then realized that this wasn`t directed at her.
A light glimmered in her eyes as she realized that it was directed towards the monsters that came to her home, and killed her family.
For the first time, she felt relief wash over her nerves. She somehow felt safe when she heard the voice proclaim its anger towards the monsters.
She exited the closet and headed straight to her pink bed. Letting the exhaustion take over, she collapsed peacefully.
Spoiler: Spoiler
I`m sorry, I couldn`t help it.
She woke up later due to the sound of an explosion, and couldn`t help but be frightened by the demonic laughter.
She went back into the closet, and shivered as she kept vigilant.
Earl
Earl looked at the exit. There was a tarpaulin outside with the words “Sunny Side Village” underneath a picture of an old happy couple.
‘It`s a bad design no matter how many times I look at it.’ Earl thought with a scowl as he started walking towards the exit. He still felt bitter about what he learned about what he learned about goblins.
When Earl was about to step outside the gate that separated this place from the outside world, he was stopped by a transparent wall.
“Ow!” He grimaced while rubbing his forehead. “What is this?” He asked, noticing the notification that just appeared.
You can not leave until you have met the following conditions:
All monsters are slain (1 monster left.)
All survivors are gathered (There are 2 survivors left, not gathered)
All survivors have killed a monster. (Only 1 survivor has fulfilled this requirement)
Earl felt anger as soon as he saw the first condition. ‘So, there`s still one left…’ he squinted his eyes, and a dangerous light flashed in the red, but he restrained those kinds of thoughts. His first priority is to find the other survivor.
In order to leave, all survivors need to kill at least one monster. Earl plans to find the survivor, restrain the last monster, and then have them kill it. ‘How hard could it be?’
He then recalled that this village mostly housed the elderly. He sighed, but still decided to continue with his plan.
Worst case scenario, he has to force them to kill it like some sort of gangster.
He walked away, laughing at the silliness of such an idea.
