Chapter 3
It was morning the sun has just risen and in the forest it still was slightly dark but there was enough light to signify the start of a new day. Twelve people can be seen trudging through the forest scanning their surroundings intensely. The ears on their head that looks similar to a cat twitch to try and hear any sound that might give them a clue of a possible prey. A small youth around 18 years of age with rippling muscles was leading the strange group of hunters. His black silver tail wrapped around his waist and two axes were strapped at his back. His face exude confidence and experience.
It was a strange sight, a youth clearly smaller compared to the rest of the group was leading them, yet there were no signs of dislike in their faces at their current leader. From their action it was clear that they respect the smaller youth.
The youth signal for them to stop and the rest of the hunters immediately complied. He was looking at a woman jogging towards them, fear clearly etched on her face. When she was closer to him he called out to her.
“Nira what is it?” he asked curious.
Nira didn’t answer immediately as she jog closer to the youth. She stopped when she got closer in range of him, slightly out of breathe and spoke.
“Reed, I found some signs of the Night Hunters being near this area” she said hurriedly to the youth called Reed.
“Really? Do you think their nest is near here?” Reed inquired, while bringing his right hand to his chin, clearly thinking
about the situation and what they should do. The rest of the men under his command waited for their leader’s decision. After all during the years, he’s proven to be capable warrior as well as a good leader.
Killing countless of Night Hunters that tried to invade their village and terrorise their people. Reed Caith the son of Chief Shura Caith has personally led tribe members to destroy the nest of the Night Hunters which was deep inside a cave and successfully eradicated the nest.
“Maybe, I’m not sure Reed. I’m just here to report what I have found” replied Nira respectfully.
Reed close his eyes momentarily, coming to a decision. Taking a deep breathe he turned to his men and look them in the eye and said “Men, we will follow the trail left by the Night Hunters and see if it can lead us to where their nest is. Once we found the nest, we will not investigate inside the cave but return to the village and report this to the Chief”
The men grunt in unison, expressing their approval of the plan.
“Scout Nira lead the way” Reed ordered.

Reed’s POV
Having arrived at a clearing, we can see signs of battle. The trees seem to have arrow holes on them and some of them were felled, I assume by whatever weapon was used by one of the combatants. Evidence clearly pointed out that bow and arrow was one of weapon used in the fight but it’s odd that there seems to be no broken arrows anywhere. Either the arrows were collected or it wasn’t a bow that was used but one of those rumoured relic weapons that can be found in ancient dungeons.
Magic could have also been used I also couldn’t ignore that possibility or someone that possesses a unique skill. Though I find that unlikely as their usually rare and well valued by the various kingdoms in Runeterra. It also wouldn’t make sense for them to be here as there’s no particular treasure or dangerous magical beast in this area
.
“Reed” one of the men shouted.
“You might want to take a look at this”
“Okay, I’m coming” replied Reed.
But what I saw caught me off guard, five Night Hunters and one Red Eye Hunter were sprawled across the earthy bed. Their corpse were full of wounds that looks like arrow wound. Their body seem frozen and very stiff, the Red Eye Hunter’s body was literally littered will holes.
“Reed, look further to your right, there seem to be a human” Nira announced.
All of us turned to where she was pointing and found a human lying on the floor, the clothes on his back ripped, and a claw shaped wound streak across his back. The wound was slightly deep but it doesn’t seem to be that bad. He looks to be about the same age as me.
He has white hair and his clothes were tattered. The skin on his fair white face was slightly pale, I imagine from the blood loss.
“Roger, see if he’s alive and if he is, we will bring him back with us”
“Ok Reed” the middle age burly man quickly obeyed.
“Do you think he did this?” Nira asked.
“We will know our answers soon enough” Reed simply answered.
I would be impress if the human did this himself. No warrior or mage especially a mage can face against a Night Hunter, heck facing one of them was dangerous enough but facing against a pack of them was suicide.
Their speed alone could ripped a mage in half before he can even utter a spell and a warrior wouldn’t stand a chance as their usually pack hunters not lone hunters, so it’s hard to believe this human child could take them all out and live at the same time, it’s simply unbelievable.
Even I a level 10 warrior would struggle against a pack of them. I wouldn’t die but I won’t be able to bring a pack of them down either. The Night Hunters level were usually around Level 3 and the Night Red Hunter was level 5 but the scary thing about them were their coordinated attacks, as the leader can command his underlings through telepathy skill that Red Hunters are born with.

“Reed he’s still breathing but he’s condition is not looking too good” Roger shouted out.
“OK Thanks Roger. Men lets return to the village” barked Reed.

Meruem’s POV
I groaned in pain as I raised my right hand rubbing my eye subconsciously as I begun to wake up. Memories of the action of the night before came back to me speeding up the getting up process.
I opened my eyes nervously scanning surrounding, hoping those abomination are not anywhere near me. I stared in shock at my surroundings. ‘This isn’t the forest. And I am sure as hell, I didn’t collapse out here of exhaustion here’ I observed. My heart beating loudly against my chest as I analyse my current situation.
Cold sweat poured against the side of my neck and my naked chest and back.
‘……………….’
“ARGHHHHH!!! What the fuck!! What the actual fuck!” I screamed in horror.
Where the hell are my clothes?
What the hell happened to me?
In a nervous manner, I quickly lifted the blanket covering my lower half and I breathe a sigh of relief as my black pants are still there. Which reminds me, even when I’m unconscious my ability has not become undone. How curious.
Wait that’s not the point right now. Seriously those kind of interesting tid bits of information does not even matter right now.
This situation is downright weird and needs to be addressed immediately.
‘Ok Meru. Deep breathe. Let’s calm down and think how I ended up here’
What came out was blank answers to my serious pressing question. I mean answering this question right now might save my life.
Suddenly several footsteps can be heard running towards my direction.
When they entered the room I was in, I summoned my icy bow and loaded with one deadly icy arrow pointing it towards the door.
The door then opened followed by big burly men with silver cat ears and black and white tail wrapped around their body.
‘Ok what the fuck’
“Freeze mother fucker. None of you furries move. You creep me the fuck out” I shouted in surprise.
‘Oops! That was not what I wanted to say.’ I reprimanded myself mentally but what’s done is done.
‘What a great first impression to my possible saviour or enemies, meh I shrugged, what’s done is done. As they say you can’t turn back time.

Change of POV
The beast men who came to check what the ruckus was about was startled by the sudden threat of the human that they instinctively draw out their weapons albeit a bit confuse by the situation.
‘Oh fuck’ Meruem thought, seeing five men draw out their axes and giant swords.
‘Well this isn’t what I had in mind’
A voice suddenly barked out an order and the men immediately sheath their weapons.
A thin wiry old man suddenly came in the room with two more people. One of them is a boy about the same age as Meruem and a girl. The three late comers has identical features and from that you can gather that their somehow related.
The old man has silver hair with black colour on the tips of each strand. His face was evil looking and Meruem slightly shudder at the ugly scar trailing from his left eye down to his mouth. And at each side of his waist are two swords snuggly sheathe and strapped. He wore a furry vest and a large coat made out of a Lion Bear’s hide.
The son however although wiry, his body is slightly bigger compared to his father. He wore a vest and that doesn’t even cover his body, exposing his muscly chest. His silver hair has red streaks on it and two axes hang by the side of his hip.
The daughter has dark hair with silver streaks. Her appearance is similar to a statue as her face shows no emotion. Unlike her father who showed a thoughtful face and her brother who looked at Meruem with a curious look. She however only stared at him passively. Her cold eyes followed by her diamond shape pupils greatly unnerve Meruem. He shivered from her gaze.
She wore black tight pants followed with a skirt that reach to her knees. She wears a dark grey shirt and a furry vest. It was clear she made an effort to hide most of her skin from the public.
Not wanting to stare anymore at her lovely yet cold impassive face, Meruem decided to focus his attention to the old man. As he can feel a strong aura coming from him. That says a lot of his position in this place. He’s either the leader or a person of great importance. Either way, angering him would spell trouble for Meruem.
He’s way too low levelled and his energy reserves although replenish, still not enough to take on the people that are here.
Meruem does not even know how strong this people are. It’s possible that one of them can take him out.
