As Jacob was preparing to attack the group of four wolves in front of him, a holographic screen appeared in front of his retina.
[Congratulations to the player [Harvey] for being the First Player to awaken a rare bloodline. This achievement is engraved on the board of fame for all eternity!]
'Huh?' Jacob's face drew a frown. This was different from the events he saw in his memories. In his memoirs, he saw that the first to achieve this feat was the player codenamed Yesday. Yesday was one of the most outstanding players. He was always in the top 100 international players.
'Well, I'm not sure if these memories I have of the other me are from the future or from another alternate reality or something like that.'
'Rare bloodline... This is something I have no recollection of getting. Most likely it's something genetic or gained through the system... Well, there's no use thinking about it now.'
The best he could do was get strong as quickly as possible and earn a place in the world that was about to turn upside down. Although he didn't know if things would happen the same way, he remembered that it wasn't so different from those zombie apocalypse movies and books.
The number of people who died in one year was approximately 1 billion people. That was a scary death toll. Although there was an increase in people born per year, it was still less than the number of people who died.
In the second year, 200 million people were born, but more than 1 billion died. By the third year, the number of deaths decreased a little; a little more than 500 million died, but it was still a scary number of deaths.
Jacob didn't want to dwell on those memories right then. He shook his head, pushing those thoughts aside, and charged at the bloodthirsty wolves in front of him.
There were 4 wolves at level 13, however, Jacob wasn't terribly worried. Although their attack power was more than double that of angry wolves, they had less defense and health. This floor was all about speed. If it was fast enough and dealt considerable damage, it was a quick win.

Jacob didn't think twice as he backed away. The other three bloodthirsty wolves were faster and stronger, so he needed to be even faster when retreating. Waiting for the cooldown to pass, Jacob dashed forward again.

"Woof!"
The bloodthirsty wolves became more aggressive and were filled with rage as they snarled at Jacob as he backed away.
Jacob waited for them to approach, and when he had the chance he attacked and retreated.

At the same time that he retreated, he was almost against the wall. Jacob then ran forward, but towards the sides and with his feet on the walls. He sprinted sideways on the wall, passing very quickly by the frenzied wolves, changing position.
The wolves turned and howled at him again. If it was anyone else, they would have been paralyzed by the ferocious howl of the beasts, however, this had no effect on Jacob, who had a neutral expression as he attacked again.

Jacob didn't relax just because he had already managed to kill the wolf, even when he saw that an item appeared the instant the bloodthirsty wolf he'd just killed faded from reality.
Attacking with speed, the two remaining bloodthirsty wolves attacked from the left and right sides.
[Moonwalker]
Backing up again, Jacob didn't choose to move forward, but rather waited. When the bloodthirsty wolves approached once more, coming from the left, he leaped into the air at the same time as the wolves leaped. With great maneuvering flexibility, he contorted his body and twisted his left hand into a fist and punched, using all his strength, which caught squarely with his foot on the top of the jumping bloodthirsty wolf's head. He then just slashed down with the intention of fending off the other wolf.

Jacob slid backward, but without activating his skill, and ran forward. He then kicked upwards at the bloodthirsty wolf that fell to the ground.

"Now all that's missing is you..."
The bloodthirsty wolf seemed to understand what Jacob said and growled, and with a thunderous howl, he leaped towards Jacob.
Jacob was waiting for this and he punched upwards. The punch caught the bloodthirsty wolf in the stomach.

"It's over…" With a smile, he picked up the silver and gold coins then picked up the dropped item. When he took the item in his hand, he noticed that it was a helmet and evaluated it.

"Good." Wasting no time, he wore a helmet that looked more like a winter cap that had been dyed black.
Jacob saw the portal appear and went through it.

His status had greatly increased. However, he himself knew that it would be a risky fight if he went up against the 300 cm tall boss standing in front of him. It was a level 20 boss with 1000 health. Not only was its life total very high, but all of its statuses were. Even if he learned the skill Ice Breath, with the boss's high resistance, fighting it was extremely unlikely to work.
Taking the Labyrinth key he used to enter, Jacob used that key again to exit. When he left, now back in his room, Jacob sighed softly. Looking at his smartphone screen blinking on the counter beside the bed, Jacob picked it up and unlocked the screen and saw that he had two messages from Abel...
'I need to sort this out sooner or later...' Jacob sighed again at the thought of his adoptive parents and sister.
The reason he was living alone was that he had recently found out that he was actually their adopted son and one thing led to another and Jacob turned out to be an asshole about it. He then had an argument with his adoptive parents, so he moved in alone to another city.

First message: [Jacob, is everything okay? How are you?]
Second message: [Jacob, answer me. I'm worried… You're not in danger, yes?]
[I'm fine, don't worry. It took me a while to answer because I was with some friends I made recently and I was completing the first mission I received... By the way, it's amazing! I feel stronger after leveling up by completing the quest! By the way, did you finish yours? It's dangerous to do them alone. Oh yeah, if you don't know how to do it or even how to find the quests, just mumble: Quest tracking].
After making up his mind, Jacob responded with a large text. That was how he assumed he would have responded if he was not reliving events. Of course, he also knew that it would take time for his family to figure out how to do quests, but maybe it wouldn't this time.
The reason he told them what to do, even knowing the dangers of their missions, was because he knew that his sister was a black belt in Muay Thai, almost reaching the black and white that signified a Master Level. She was a year younger than him and it can be said that they were very close, however, because of the fight he had had, and the fact that he was adopted, the two drifted apart a little.
It didn't take long for him to get a message from his sister.
[That's a relief. I was worried about you, our parents too... Anyway, I tested it here, on a mission to eliminate 20 rodents... I'm going with... well, I'll do this mission and see how it goes. Anyway, I'm glad you're doing well and being very careful. We still don't know what change this will bring].
Jacob sighed again. He noticed that Abel was avoiding talking about her parents, but he understood why she didn't.
'They are still safe; there's no point in me rushing things. While one of my biggest regrets in that other life was not fixing my relationship with them, this time, I will do it. However, I can't do it now. I need it to be the most natural possible. And, well, they'll be safe even if things aren't happening as they did in my memories.'
After meditating for several seconds, Jacob just sent another message to Abel, lying about the things he had just learned from the Law of Return Game. When that was finished, Jacob took a shower and changed his clothes but still went back to using the items he dropped in the Labyrinth. If the helmet concealed his face better, that would be ideal, but it was even better than wearing a hat.
After leaving, Jacob already outlined the next plan which was to stock up on food. At first, things continued on normally, but the food shortages started to take a toll. He also told Abel to do the same as himself and stock up, even suggesting to her to store it all in her inventory, which had plenty of space. She said she would do it just to be safe. As she herself said, it was impossible to guess what changes the world would have with the implementation of the Law of Return game in the world.
As he walked down a quiet street, Jacob remembered the messages he had exchanged with Abel and felt like laughing.
"And to think that girl who is cute and playful, though sometimes foul-mouthed and is always high-spirited and hardly holds back when she talks, that she could be acting so secretive..."
Well, he understood that it was his fault, and he also understood that he shouldn't feel so happy about something like that, but Jacob felt happy just imagining her typing and deleting several times.
Abel had a very upbeat personality. She was always happy with life and was a very open person, which made everyone like her. This was a little different than what she showed in messages, since even when she talked over Twitter, she wrote whatever came to mind. In this, she took after her mother. Elisangela was elegant and fun, liked dirty jokes, and hardly got angry.
On the other hand, the kids' father, Ronaldo, was more strict, but he was good-natured too. Although he was often serious, when they were together he was quite cozy and playful. He mostly enjoyed embarrassing people very close to him in public places. His biggest 'victim' was his mother-in-law, Sonia. Maybe it was because grandma Sonia was more embarrassed, he would get close to her and start counting very loudly, catching the attention of the people around.
As Jacob let his thoughts run wild, he had already arrived at the wholesale supermarket.

After what took almost an hour, finally Jacob finished picking up more than three carts full of groceries with lots of water in plastic bottles, meat, and some canned food. He bought mostly the same types of things, as he could put them in the same inventory slot if they were the same sort of item. That's why the water bottles were the same brand and size, as were the canned foods, and the meat was mostly sirloin steak.
At the same time he finished paying, Jacob placed all the items he had purchased into his inventory in front of many people in the supermarket.
"Is this… Was that from the Law of Return Game?" The cashier nearly had a meltdown as she asked him in utter surprise.
It was normal for her to be surprised, as were most of the people she saw. After all, this was all very new, some were trying to live their lives normally, just like the clerk, but seeing something like that before their eyes, it made them go numb, even causing them to be somewhat afraid of what the future held.
Jacob lightly brushed his chin and replied "yes" without waiting for her or anyone else to ask any more questions. Then he left.
When someone tried to follow him, Jacob ran, taking advantage of his huge difference in speed. He wasn't quite as fast as a motorcycle, but he wasn't too far off.
