Chapter 1 - Alone

One day before the system was released… An individual shot through what appeared to be a glowing blue circle.

Woosh! A burst of air carried the shadow. Crashing downwards at a frighteningly quick pace.

Passing one grove of trees again and again the figure fell stumbling beyond the likes of branches and leaves. Flowing through them as if it were water, if water were sharp and pointy.  It slowed his rate of descent.

The figure lightly gritted his teeth as he was thrown to the base of the forest at last. The shade of the tree dusting off his heavy fatigue in a slow and monotonous way; the shade was nigh too useless to affect his wounds in any way shape or form. The injuries were that severe.

Pain rang throughout his body constantly reminding him to stop, to rest - but he had to keep going. He did not have any time to waste.

He pulled himself up, leaning, exhausted against the very same tree.  He was going to die before the moon hung itself in the sky. If he was able to help it that would not be true. While he did have quite the day he had one more thing to do. One that had been bothering him this entire time.

This blue screen that was hovering right in front of him.

All that he could do is acknowledge the fact that he was not seeing things. It was practically glowing like some kind of neon sign. Except way less hard on the eyes if you did not glare at it.

He kept moving at a snail's pace while dividing the rest of his attention towards the blue screen. It was too particular, it reminded him of the games he amused himself with when he was still on earth.

He felt a dose of nostalgia kick in. “Yeah, those were the times…” his voice briskly whispered.

He dragged himself towards a cave that he saw a glimpse of when he came crashing down from the sky.

His back heavy, his breath was starting to slow.  He did not have much time left if he was going to be able to do something about his survival.

And if he did not have his pride he would of gave up. If he survived then this near-death experience would have been worth it.

He was not over the hurdle yet! His luck had a bit more work to do.

Eventually he entered the cave, his wound made a trail of fresh blood during his time sifting through the dirt. He scoffed as he made due on the cold stone ground. It was better than nothing!

He propped himself up against a stone wall, closing his eyes. The sound of the wildlife oddly soothing as it let him identify the most recent dinging noise.

It was the blue screen, again. He didn't care enough to look.

He fell asleep dreaming of anything but his pain. In this world pain was not his ally, it was his foe.

A eternally stubborn and unwelcome obstacle. It did remind him of one thing which was good - as long as he felt pain he was alive.

And unlike his victims before, he could now die. He was not in an immortal realm such as hell or heaven.

He now had something to lose here, his life. And such a weakness was not acceptable!
