Maka and Val fall through a black portal into a new trial location. Maka lands with a thud on purple grass. The surrounding environment is made up of purple trees and oddly shaped purple plants. Maka starts to cough instantly and feels his energy getting drained. Maka and Val are surrounded by a weird purple haze. Maka looks up at purple clouds that spray a mist on the ground below it.
“Trial number Two, rare location discovered. This is a time trial. You have six hours to make it to the next checkpoint which is located directly south of you. This environment is covered in a purple poison mist that drains your energy. This mist also has a toxicant that fills your lungs, it puts a strain on one’s natural breathing and eventually, you could die if you stay in this world too long.” Val explains.
“But we are in a digital world, shouldn’t I be breathing normally while wearing the special headset?” Maka asks.
“Everything that happens in this digital world also has an effect on your body in the real world but don’t worry too much, Sid will pull you out of the trials if you don’t make it in time. However, you won’t become a Reaper if you fail this task. Are you up to the challenge?” Val asks.
“Should be a piece of cake.” Maka boasts.
“Better hurry, the timer has started. Oh, one last thing. I can detect clouds of poison mist coming towards you and will alert you when they do. The mist also has different levels of strength some might even be lethal if it touches you. Be careful!” Val says.
“It’s okay, I’ll hold my breath or cover myself with my special tails.” Maka turns a tail into an arm and flexes. Then Maka wraps himself with his tails and looks like a bubble or ball then starts to roll.
“How long can you stay like that?” Val asks.
“Depends how long I can hold my breath for. Maybe a couple of minutes. Is that long enough to get through the poison purple mist?” Maka asks.
“Hopefully, make sure you roll as fast as you can when I alert you,” Val states.
“Got it. Let’s go.” Maka shouts.
Maka powers up and starts to travel across the terrain of the purple world. It has a purple rocky surface and weird types of purple plants surrounding him. Maka travels south through this digital world.
“I’m so happy that I don’t have to deal with sandstorms anymore.” Maka grins.
“This digital world could be worse. Be careful.” Val hints.
“Don’t worry. I’m the best Keke there ever was.” Maka suggests and then grins.
“Alert: Poison mist approaching level three.” Val starts to warn.
Maka curls his tails into a ball and then starts to roll as a huge poison cloud approaches directly at him. Maka rolls around the rocky surface eventually approaching a cliff and then Maka rolls off the cliff. Maka starts dropping through the air but escapes the cloud. Val starts falling with Maka and eventually, they reach the ground. Maka fuses his energy into his tails and lands with a couple of bounces. Then reverts to his original form. Maka stares at a huge purple lake in front of him.
“Is it safe to swim in it?” Maka asks. Val scans the water.
“Hmm looks fine,” Val states.
Maka dives into the purple water and then jumps out quickly. Maka shakes out some of the water from his fur.
“No way am I swimming in that. It’s freezing.” Maka shakes himself more and water brushes on Val.
“Hey quit it. I don’t like water.” Val shakes her head.
“I got a better idea.” Maka starts to smile. Maka charges his energy and starts to glow green. Then Maka puts his energy into his tails and they transform into a surfboard. Maka jumps on top of the purple lake and starts to surf by putting energy into his tail surfboard. As Maka journeys across the lake, waves start to form and come towards Maka. Maka starts to ride the waves for a bit but then they stop randomly. Some of the water starts to glow and then form into purple water imps.
“I don’t have time for this,” Maka shouts as he transforms three of his tails into giant mouths with sharp teeth. Maka surfs on one tail and eats the purple imps with his mouth tails. They keep spawning so Maka turns his three tails into scythes and slashes the crowd of them. Then the water starts to turn into large arms and hands with claws. The water hands swipe at Maka, and one of the water hands crashes into Maka. Maka swiftly dodges them and then cuts one of them into multiple pieces. Maka keeps pushing forward on his surfboard and then a water hand grabs Maka, pulling him into the purple lake. In the lake are multiple piranhas that start biting Maka’s tails. Maka screams and releases a shockwave of green energy in a large circle. The explosion evaporates all of the purple water around him in a circle's radius. Val flies back down to Maka.
“Are you okay?” Val asks.
“Yeah, that one caught me off guard. I can see the end of the lake.” Maka states.
As Maka surfs close to the end of the lake a large water cube emerges in a 5-mile radius that traps Maka into a water cage. Maka looks around to see multiple water walls surrounding him. A large tentacle creature similar to an octopus or squid emerges from the water within the cube with Maka. Its head emerges with hundreds of purple tentacles all made of the water from the lake.
“Oh shit,” Maka exclaims.
The tentacles start to swarm Maka who jumps up and surfs on one of them. The other ones lunge at him in an attempt to swat him. Maka cuts through the tentacles with a large tail claymore. While charging his energy he jumps off one of the tentacles and then rides the next while slashing at multiple tentacles attacking him. The creature spits a black liquid at Maka and Maka catches it by transforming his tails into a bucket. Then Maka releases the black liquid back at the creature, it hits the eyes of the creature. Maka puts all of his power into his sword then strikes a tentacle and the sword slides on the water quickly to the creature's head. Maka slashes directly through the creature's head. The creature dies from an explosion as Maka energy blows it up. The cube within Maka swallows the creature's energy and Makas' tails turn into hundreds of tentacles. Maka puts the tail tentacles in the water lake and starts to absorb all the water into his energy.
“Delish.” Maka grins after absorbing a couple of levels of the lake's water. Maka jumps onto the purple sandy beach after the lake and notices a purple jungle in the distance. It looks like Maka has to go through the jungle because he cannot go around it. As Maka enters the jungle, he notices purple vines and trees all around him. Two trees behind him crash down and warp together preventing Maka and Val from escaping. Two purple vines attempt to whip Maka who dodges them and counters by slashing with his machete tails.
“How much time left?” Maka asks
“four hours and twenty minutes,” Val states.
Maka attaches his tails to two purple vines and pulls back like a slingshot. Then lets go and fires himself soaring upwards through several branches and purple leaves but cannot reach the top of the trees as they are taller than skyscrapers. Maka keeps accelerating through purple branches and then finally starts dropping toward the ground. Eventually, Maka lands in a pile of purple leaves. Maka re-emerges and then looks at Val.
“Alert: Poison mist level seven,” Val says.
Maka jumps into the pile of leaves once more, he uses the leaves and his tails to build a little box leaf house. It holds some oxygen in it and Maka hides in the house until the poison mist cloud disappears. After the poison cloud passes through the surrounding plants start to change. Several of the plants start to become enraged and they attack Maka. A mutated sunflower starts shooting seeds at Maka who slashes each one with saber tail swords. Maka starts to run as he sees several ten-foot mutated dark purple trees come near him. They slam their branch fists down on Maka who dodges and keeps running. Maka runs into a vine wall that is blocking him. Maka turns around to see the mutated trees and turns his tails into flamethrowers. Maka charges his energy and then shoots green flames out of his tail at the trees turning them into ash. Then Maka burns the vine wall and keeps running. Maka finds a branch to swing around and slingshot him forward.

Maka flies through the jungle, he is lit on fire with green energy and stumbles into a pile of purple leaves. Maka looks forward, he spots purple vines on the floor and a hole in the middle of the ground. Maka and Val approach the center carefully. Then the floor starts to shift and Maka jumps high in the air. The hole in the center starts to inhale everything and then a flower similar to a large Venus flytrap emerges from the floor. It swallows Val whole and Maka looks down in terror.
“VAL,” Maka screams and then smashes the flytrap with a huge hammer tail full of energy. Maka repeatedly keeps smashing it in rage.
Small digital cubes hover near Maka and they re-materialize into Val.
“Hey, Maka relax. I can’t die in these digital worlds. So don’t worry about me.” Val says with a smile.
“Sorry, that caught me off guard. This jungle is dangerous let’s get out of here.” Maka says.
Maka keeps dashing forward eventually the trees start to shift and he sees an opening. Maka escapes the purple jungle and notices that he is now in an eerie environment. The surface is now rocky with purple tombstones that are scattered around. Purple spirits wander around drifting from tombstone to tombstone, then eventually the tombstones start to shake. Purple spirits rise from the tombstones in the image of spirit banshees. They start to scream and this creates sound shockwaves that damage everything within range. Maka turns his tails into a shield and covers his ears. Maka turns his tails into conductors, and sparks of green energy start to bounce back and forth between his tails. Then Maka releases beams of green energy at the banshees. The ghosts shriek while being electrocuted, then Maka turns his tails into a vacuum and sucks up all the spirits, which absorbs their energy into Maka. Maka starts to swing around a tombstone and then shoots forward, leaping off of each grave and bouncing forward.
“Alert: Poison mist detected level five,” Val warns Maka. Maka uses his tails to roll up into a bubble ball once more. Then he bounces himself and shoots forward. Maka rolls through the poison mist and eventually makes it through the graveyard. The next area still has rocky terrain but a thunderstorm starts to brew in the air. Maka gets out of the ball form and looks up at several uniquely shaped rocks. Purple cloud start to cover the skies and rain starts to fall on Maka. Maka quickly turns his tails into an umbrella.
“Is the rain dangerous? Like some form of acid rain.” Maka asks. Val scans some water on the floor.
“I don’t think so. My system says it's just normal water.” Val says and then flies underneath Maka’s tail umbrella.
A storm starts to brew in the air. Thunder starts to roar in the air. Then purple lightning strikes the ground in the distance. This sends a surge of electricity to everything in the area. Maka shields himself with his tails just in case. He is unaware of the dangers of the new environment. Maka keeps moving forward and notices that the rocks around him start to fly. You can see sparks of electricity as the purple rocks start to fly and rotate around him.
“How much time do I have left?” Maka asks Val.
“2 hours and 30 minutes. The objective is 10 miles ahead of you. Looks like you’re going to finish this digital world in record time. I would still be careful you don’t know what dangers lurk in this new environment.” Val states.
“Are these electric rocks safe?” Maka asks and then jumps on one. Maka and the rock floats for a bit. Then Maka absorbs the energy from the rock and it falls down so Maka jumps onto another one.
“Safe enough, let’s go,” Val says.
Maka starts to bounce from rock to rock, he quickly absorbs the energy from the rock and then dashes with his new energy to the next one. The rocks vary in distance and height but Maka is just simply too precise. Eventually, Maka morphs his tails into hands and uses his hands to grab each rock then ricochet him further. After traveling five miles the storm starts to get stronger. The rain pours down on Maka and the rocks start to rise even higher. Maka spots a huge moving object in the clouds. It sends a massive purple lightning bolt at Maka. Maka quickly dodges the bolt and falls to the ground. The clouds part and Maka sees a purple thunder dragon. The thunder dragon flies closer to the ground and breathes fire charged with electricity in it at Maka. Maka shields himself with his tails and the sparks go in different directions. Eventually, the electric fire breaks through Maka’s tail shield, and Maka once again gets knocked back.
“Are you okay?” Val asks.
“He’s strong,” Maka says.
“No shit, it’s a god damm thunder dragon,” Val yells. The dragon swipes at Maka who dodges its claws.
“So Val, where are you from?” Maka asks while running from the thunder dragon.
“Well, I was digitally created by Sid. What about you?” Val laughs.
“I can’t remember my past, all I remember is waking up in Lower Boe one day,” Maka says.
“Hmm, I wonder if you were created in a lab?” Val asks.
“I don’t know but sometimes I wish I had parents. Alright let me focus or this thing is going to kill me.” Maka says.
The purple thunder dragon starts to charge its energy and then shoots a massive beam of electricity-infused energy from its mouth at Maka. Maka turns his tails into four sabers and cuts the beam multiple times. Maka turns his tails into cannons and shoots his green energy at the thunder dragon. The dragon changes his entire body into purple electricity and then surges at Maka. The electric dragon flies into the ground. All of the rocks around Maka start to fly in the air. Then they gather together with sparks of electricity then form a new rock thunder dragon in the air. The electric rocks fly at Maka who dodges them and starts to run.
“How do I beat this thing?” Maka shouts.
“Who said you had to beat it? The objective is four miles away. Try running as fast as you can to the objective then we will leave this world.” Val says.
“Good idea,” Maka mentions and then starts to charge his energy. Green sparks start to fly off of Maka’s fur. Maka turns his tails into multiple jet engines. Then shifts all of his energy into his tails. Maka fires through the air like a rocket going right by the dragon and soaring through the air. The dragon roars and lightning starts to strike near Maka. Maka shifts his energy as he flies and dodges the lightning strikes. Maka turns around to look at the dragon flying through the air. It lifts up all the rocks around Maka and then the rocks start to smash to the ground near Maka. Maka quickly dodges multiple rocks that are thrown at him. Then the dragon fires a massive beam of thunder from his mouth and two beams from each of his claws. The dragon merges all three beams into one super beam. Maka turns his tails into conductors and jumps on the beam of energy. Maka starts to ride the beam of energy using his tails to absorb the energy. The beam takes him close to the checkpoint.
“See ya in the next life sucka,” Maka shouts. The dragon roars and looks angry. A black portal appears and Maka rides the beam of energy close to it. Maka looks around to see the purple planet one last time. Then Maka and Val jump into the black portal.
