Chapter 3: Two daughters.

Returning to the backyard to check on Birdy, the look of his bright green eaglet sleeping soundly put a smile on his face. "I feel as if I have two daughters". Eagle looked upon the bright green eaglet still sleeping soundly. There is just something that brought peace to his heart.

"Looking at your eaglet, I see". A hand landed on his left shoulder.

Turning to the voice on his left, Eagle nodded and smiled.

"It certainly took you a while to notice me, didn't you? You look preoccupied with your bright green daughter". Mads giggled. "That is just exactly how I felt when I first had my Melocotones . How is our daughter doing?"

"She is blending in well with the other children and seems more at home here than I am". Eagle turning back to look at Birdie, "She is in the children's class with them and it seems her best friends are Nathan and Johnson, the two sons of Norman".

"Our daughter will grow up well and she is mature for her age", Mads placed her right arm around Eagle for a while before heading off. "Class is over soon. I am going to take Birdie, our daughter, not your eaglet, home tonight. Come and join us for dinner tonight, I am sure she would be please to have you".

"Alright Mads, thanks for the invitation, I will see you in a few hours time".

Giving Eagle a hug, Mads walked off leaving him alone to feed his bright green eaglet which had just woken up. Remembering Norman's instructions to only feed her what was needed. Walking back to his unit and turning on the television, Eagle watched the film 'Ghost of Girlfriends Past'. Flowing in his mind was a mixture of thoughts and memories. Some made him laugh and others made him cry, an emotional part of Eagle which successfully hid from all around him most of the time. The only time, tears came to his eyes publicly was when he met his daughter for the first time.

At Sarah's house. "This is delicious". Eating away at a hot and spicy chicken rib.

"Still have that big appetite haven't you?" Speaking to Eagle with a teasing tone, Mads placed her hand on Birdie's head. "Our daughter takes after you".

Smiling while looking at his daughter, Eagle replied, "She has more of your features".

"She still has your eyes and big appetite".

"I look like mom but I eat like dad". These words made Birdie's parents laughed.

"It is great to see Birdie enjoying herself with both her parents. For the past five years, Birdie has been longing to meet her dad", Sarah who had just finished her work for the day walked in. "Do you have anyone in mind?"

Starring at Sarah with an expression as if to show she is annoyed plus a cutesy pout responded. "No one. I am happy to remain single for now, maybe forever".

"I know. It is Eagle whom I am asking this very question to". Walking up to Eagle, sitting down on the chair which was on his left at the small round table, Sarah took her seat. "Have my share of KFC, I am not hungry and I know that you like it. Mads told me so".

Eagle looked at Mads and blushed. His train of thought was interupted by Mads.

"I will be cooking Brazillian BBQ tomorrow, you are welcome to come over for dinner again, Eagle". Trying to lighten up the mood of Eagle who had just shut down, and jabbing him in the ribs with her fingers, surprising him half way ended with Mads being briefly chased around the table.

"Still cheeky, I see". Pretending to give up, Eagle resumed to finishing off the rest of the hot and spicy chicken.

"Of course I am, Eagle". Walking up towards Eagle and breaking out into a laugh, Mads literally knocked the cup which he drank water from spilling water on him. "Sorry", she now looked embarrassed. "It is getting late now, Birdie, it is getting late tonight".

"I want to go home with daddy tonight". Displaying a pout which shocked Eagle, Birdie's expression suddenly reminding him the first time he had conversed with Mads while they were in their respective fields where their animals were separated by a tall strong fence too strong for even a sauropod to break out of.

"If you wash up and go to sleep now, I will let you stay with dad this weekend", Mads cooed with a soft and gentle voice.

"Listen to your mother and we will have fun this weekend. Just you and I". Eagle carried his daughter off the chair.

"Really? Dad, you will keep your promise, won't you?"

"Of course not. Just don't give your mom a hard time. When you are older, you may stay up later". Smiling at his daughter, Eagle handed her over to her mother.

"I love you, dad". Birdie got off her mother's lap, giving her father a hug before heading to the bath room to brush her teeth and take a bath.

"Her clothes are in the bathroom", Mads took hold of Eagle's left hand as he was about to open his mouth. "I know exactly what you are going to ask. Tonight, I will drive you home".

Birdie ran out of the bathroom just as she heard her mother speak, giving her father one more hug which was returned by her father before saying, "Goodnight daddy, I will see you in the School of Paradeisos tomorrow. I want to be a great eagle rider someday like you and mom". Finish her speech, running back to the bathroom, Birdie took her bath.

"Please help me tug Birdie away in bed tonight. I have things to discuss with Eagle tonight. It is regarding our daughter", Mads spoke briefly.

"No worries, Mads. Don't kill each other during your discussion". Always having a good sense of humor made it easy for Mads to live with Sarah and that was the vibe Eagle picked up on ever since he entered the house.

Mads took Eagle by the hand, dragging him towards the front door which was joined to the clothing shop saying, "Let's go. We will have some catching up tonight at the Starbucks tonight. The bill is on me and my car is in front of the clothing shop".
