His name is John. A weak, pitiful, subhuman piece of shit. An accumulation of countless failures he learnt nothing from. The very definition of an incompetent fool that thought he could take the world in his hands. His only redeeming feature was his faith, and he struggled with even that.
....I am John.
I was in my room, on my bed, mindlessly scrolling through the internet.
What else was i supposed to do? I was already failing in school and my last business venture crumbled before it could even start.
I always gave up easily. The things I was meant to do where supposed to come easily to me, after all wasn't that what the bible said? "Why worry when I feed the birds in the sky..." or something like that. I didnt care much.
My friends graduated before me. I didnt care much.
I started a business, it did not get much traction. I didn't care much.
I was unhealthy, my heart was failing. Nice, sweet release of death.
I got dumped. That, I did care about. It hurt more than I ever thought it could.
I lied a lot to seem more that what I was. I didnt care, I was sure I would make them all true one day.
Was that hubris? Arrogance bordering on stupidity? Yes. I was fucking proud......
"Hahaha!"
I laughed at my phone screen. The screen that took most of my life away. An addiction.
How could one be so ambitious and lazy? Damn. I'm crazy.
As I stood up to go through my morning routine of self hate and loathing, the ground shook.
I lived in an area where earthquakes never occur, so I thought a bomb went off, but the ground never stopped shaking, instead It increased in its intensity.
An absurd pressure forced me to my knees. I refused to lay flat, but honestly, I was out of shape and my joints ached. I was just twenty five dammit. Fuck.

I was on my face in a mere second.
The pressure built up and I felt how a common bug would feel, crushed underfoot by a force it could not comprehend. I promised myself, that I would be nicer to insects, and then I passed out.
.................
I felt something crawl up my arm. I jumped up to my feet in a hurry and shook my arms like a mad man.
I saw it fall to the floor. It looked like a centipede, but it had two heads on one end, like the letter 'Y' with a quadrillion disgustin legs. I crushed it under my flipflops with gusto.
Fucking insect. It should have stayed on the ground where it belonged.
I conveniently forgot my earlier promise like a fart in the wind.
I stopped to take better stock of my surroundings and there were people all around.....looking at me....I blushed in embarrassment and turned my face back to the ground.
I watched as the centipede wriggled and shook in its death throws and noticed the unnatural color of the soild.
It was pitch black and white blades of grass shot out from it haphazardly.
I looked up with concern and took proper stock of my surroundings. We were in a large clearing with tall ghostly trees sorrounding it.
Their leaves were a dark shade of red, which looked eerie in the moonlight.
I vividly remembered being in my room, I was nowhere near a place like this. There was no way I could just find myself outside when I was clearly in my-
"Greetings children of soil" A deep, harsh voice rung in my ears.
It was so fucking loud.
"Survive and prove your worth.... I care not who you were before." it paused "Here you are a mere insect."
As sudden as the voice came, it was gone. Just like that. There wasn't a speaker in sight.
While everyone else looked around in confusion, I noted the number of people around.
We were 24 in total.
I also noticed a rack not too far from our position and saw the light reflect off something shiny.
I walled over to it and realized that shiny thing was the moon reflecting off sharpened and well polished blades.
They looked so cool. I found myself picking one off the rack and testing its weight.
It was light.
I realized there were only swords on the rack with no other weapon in sight. All were of the same length and they were clearly made from really good materials.
Others noticed me checking out the weapons rack and followed suit.
On closer inspection, the swords edge was wickedly sharp and the flat side of the blade reflected the light of the moo-......two moons. TWO MOONS.
My eyes shot up and I saw two fucking moons side by side in the sky. I was just enjoying the ride but now....this all seemed....real.
I panicked.
Where were my parents? I did not see them in the clearing, they were just in the living room. I can't even recognize any face here.
I looked past the others and saw people in various stages of panic and I swore I saw some freak smiling like a mad man.
I didn't even have the time to gather myself before I heard a low growl...Now, the entire tree line was filled with howls.
