It felt great to be strong. The wind pushed back as I threw myself into the air again. Despite my armor, I still felt the resistance. Luckily, I was too heavy for the currents to throw me around.
It was fucking amazing.
I hit the ground running, leaving small craters in the ground. I was a 1 ton killing machine. I braced my legs for another leap and launched myself forward.
Malcom was still laughing his ass off at the nickname he gave me. Sure I was a little fat when we came to this world, but months of training and genetic enhancements had turned me into a chad. My jawline could cut paper and my abs could crush rocks. What part of that was bulky?
The end of the plane was in sight.
A tall wall broke the monotony of the grass filled plane. It's bleached white stone rose even higher than the previous wall. I couldn't make anything out on it's walkways even as I leapt dozens of feet into the air.
Malcom started slowing the hovercraft down to a more reasonable speed. I could keep up with a light jog. I felt bad for the people Captain Eleron tetheared to the makeshift craft. He had to put them to sleep because of the constant screaming and occasionally puking.
We grabbed everyone we could on our way, and as luck would have it, we never saw Captain Brutus or any of his men. I jad no odea where they dissappeard into, but regardless, good riddance to bad rubish.
We made it to the gates a short while later. I called it a gate but it was more of a hole in the wall than any sort of gate.
"Halt! Identify yourselves" A man clad in what we could all clearly identify as roman armor.
I felt my inner fangirl kick in.
"I am Captain Eleron! Mage captain of the 51st battalion! I am here with the remnants of Captain Brutus's platoon and some stragglers we caught on the way"
"Present your insgna captain."
Captain Eleron pulled a shiny round metal from his robes. It glowed with a brilliant white light.
I remember him saying that the insigna had a holy spell cast on it that could detect the dead. If any of the queens undead servants were there, it would glow an eerie green.
"You may enter captain"
The walls were thick, around 60meters. We were behind the walls proper after a short walk. What met our eyes was an assortment of tents.
It seemed like they only had enough time to build the actual walls.
I noticed a shadow overhead when we walled out. I looked up and saw a block of stone roughly 60 meters across. That was all the motivation I needed to hurry out of the long shadow it cast.
I didn't want to find out what would happen if the thing holding it up would last any longer than it did.

We weren't given much time to rest before we were given our first orders.
Captain Eleron was tasked with protecting a section of the wall with his men of which I was apart of.
Malcom was a trainee captain and could pick any section of the wall he would like to go to. He would be assigned as the assistant of the captain wherever he chooses. He decided to follow along with me and got assigned as Captain Eleron's assistant.
It wasn't that helpful for him in the long run. Captain Eleron was a mage, while he was a pattern user. There wasn't mich he could learn from the Captain. Though humans were graced with adaptability and could use both mana and patterns, it still took an absurd amount of time to get proficient in magick.
We gathered at one of the elevators? I don't even know what to call it. It was just a platform with antigravity enchantments and 4 ropes tied to it's corners. The ropes twisted into a single braid and went up as far as our eyes could see, most likely ending at the top of the structure.
I wasn't allowed to keep my armor on because I would "break the enchantments with my weight". Captain Eleron brought out a ring from his breast pocket and pointed it in the general direction of my neatly arranged armor. I saw a faint blue light shoot out from the jewel embeded in the ring. The light felt around my armor before completely enveloping it.
One second I was staring at the light and the next, there was nothing there to look at. The light retracted incredibly quickly, carrying my armor that grew smaller till it could no longer be perceived by sight.
"Ohhh, what was that?" I asked in excitement. "Is that a spacial artefact?"
"Yes yes, now let's get going quickly. The Commander of the Legion does not take tardiness lightly".
The playform was large enough to fit a hundred people at a time, so our odd group of 55 fit in easily. Railings sprung up the sides from nowhere. The glowed a faint bright blue. They were magical in nature.
I didn't have time to brace myself before I felt my heart touch the ground. We were going way too fast.
Our group was made up mostly of veterans, they barely flinched. It was I, Malcom and some of my squad members that were unsightly. Two of them retched and attempted to empty their lunch on the platform. Luckily for them, they had nothing to eat the past day we were on the road.Malcom screamed his lungs out and I froze in place like a statue.
We were at the top pf the wall in seconds. We felt a slight pressure build up and hold us in place, lest we get flung out like we got shot out of a catapult.
The veterans were used to our reactions and just carried our frozen stiff bodies off the platform.
It took us a while to catch our breaths. That was the only chance we had to rest in the following days.
"Ready armaments!! Cyclopse spoted in sector 5!"
Sector 5. If I remembered correctly, our section of the wall directly faced sector 5.....
I felt an intense gaze on my back. It sent a shiver down my spine. I slowly turned to face the source of my discomfort. Slowly and steadily, as if any sudden movements would cause it to pounce.
At first all I saw were the hills. They looked so much smaller from way up atop the walls and their peaks were so varied in shapes and sizes. One of the larger ones looked almost humanoid. Haha..... it couldn't be right?
The hill moved and it was fucking fast.
I had fought and killed a giant earlier. It was much larger than me, but at least it was slow as fuck. That thing was too big to move that fast. I could only imagine how terrifying it would be to be on the ground at this very moment.
It stopped it's spring after a short while. It was right next to a much smaller hill. I watched it reach down and take hold of it.
There was absolutely no wa-
It ripped it out, right from the ground.
I immediately sent energy into my combined strength pattern and grew an additional 5 feet. I was ready to give it my all and crush the hill as it came.
What I felt before...what I thought was an intense gaze was merely a passing glance. Now I felt what I should describe as intense.
My legs gave out and my knees slammed into the stone floors of the walkway. The pain did little to pull me out of the trance of fear. My body broke out into a cold sweat that drenched my tunic.
The energy supplying my patterns were cut off abruptly and I could not breathe.
That monster...
That thing should not exist.
