PoV switch above

At the infirmary above,

“Ria, Mayumi, didn't that guy look a bit like Kazayuki Rihito?” asked Raymond, his brow furrowed with confusion.

“That's impossible,” replied Ria with certainty, but Mayumi offered a more detailed explanation. “If you ignore his eyes and hair color, they look the same, or rather, they are the same, but those eyes are definitely not human. So, I don't think it was him, since he was also missing his distant weird aura.”

“Yeah, I also remember them calling him a heteromorph, and there are other species I saw, like that guard who looks like a dwarf. So, we're definitely not on Earth anymore, and it doesn't look like we will be going back,” Raymond remarked, his voice tinged with a hint of resignation.

“Yeah, but I miss Earth already,” Mayumi admitted softly, her gaze drifting out the window as she contemplated their situation.

“Hmm, but I don't think it's going to be boring either, right Mayumi?” Ria injected, trying to lighten the mood.

Before long, a portly man accompanied by a handsome young man approached them, interrupting their conversation.

“I’m sorry about the disturbance. We had an accident—an otherworldly heteromorph came with your summoning somehow, but spacetime magic isn't easy to control. Please don't worry; the guards will take care of it. Welcome to the world of Landonia. I'm the Archbishop of the Holy Church of Lunaria, founded in the Holy Kingdom of Luneon,” the fat man explained, his tone attempting to reassure them.

“I’m Prince Sael Argeus of the Kingdom of Argeus, and I welcome you summoned ones to the 2nd Palace in Farmeas, the capital of Argeus,” the young man introduced himself courteously.

“Yes, nice to meet you. I'm Raymond Tsukasa,” Raymond replied, trying to maintain his composure.

“My name is Mayumi Cristin,” Mayumi added calmly.

“And I'm Ria Zaren, but you can call me Ria,” Ria chimed in cheerfully.

“By any chance, are we going to be able to choose to go back or not?” Raymond inquired, his voice tinged with hope.

“I'm afraid not,” the Archbishop responded solemnly.

“Even if we defeat a Demon King?” Mayumi pressed, her expression serious.

“A Demon King? Oh, you mean a Demon Lord. I'm afraid it's impossible to kill a Demon Lord. Even summoned ones with unique skills such as yourselves would need multiple individuals to reach that class,” the Archbishop explained patiently.

“Skills? Does that mean there are statuses? It didn't work when I called out for it,” Raymond questioned, feeling a bit frustrated.

“Calling out ‘Status, Status’? I'm afraid I don't understand. There's nothing of the sort. When you perform a difficult deed or deeply wish for an ability, with an appropriate achievement , the Voice of the World grants the power you wished for however its unheard of for most people to obtain unique skill that otherworld acquire on arriving to this world. Most summons can naturally use it or discover and practice it, as they normally have one or sometimes two unique skills,” the Archbishop clarified, hoping to dispel their confusion.

“Wait, then why have you called us? Aren't we supposed to save the world?” Ria interjected, her tone a mix of curiosity and concern.

“Certainly not. Summoned ones such as yourselves are called as military deterrents in countries to help destroy monsters that invade and to demonstrate power to aid the country. In exchange, we will serve you to the best of our abilities, care for you, and provide you with the best this world has to offer. Unfortunately, this country is only contracted to house two summoned ones, as they will provide you with the best mansion, noble status, gold, teachers, chefs, servants, and more,” the Archbishop explained diplomatically.

“So, will one of us be kicked out?” Raymond pressed, his worry evident.

“Certainly not. This is a large country. It's simply that it cannot afford to house more than two, given the extravagance of the offerings. So, I have come from the Church to invite Ms. Mayumi to the Holy Capital City of Rumina in the Holy Capital of Lumio. Would you like to accept?” the Archbishop offered, turning to Mayumi with a gentle smile.

“Wait, you can't separate the three of us!” Raymond protested, his concern showing.

“And why is she only invited? What about us two?” Ria demanded, her frustration evident.

“I can feel a blessing on this child; hence only she is capable of serving God. Even if I allowed the two of you, I'm afraid I would not be able to guarantee your status in the Church,” the Archbishop explained calmly.

“Hmm… I accept your offer,” Mayumi finally decided, her voice steady.

“Mayumi?!” Raymond exclaimed in disbelief.

“It's for the best... When will we leave?” Mayumi inquired, her resolve firm.

“We can leave as early as in two days,” the Archbishop replied, nodding approvingly.

“Okay,” Mayumi agreed, her decision made.
