"So the first step to using the energy, is to draw on someone else's given energy to connect to the Kota realm, then you can draw power from it. The more you practice, the easier you can use Kota energy without relying on someone else's. Do you understand me, Queltsom?", Dragnoria said. She looked like an extremely large white dragon that appears translucent to the looker's eyes, but since Queltsom is blind, he recognizes her by her voice when she speaks, as well as the unique roars and other sounds she makes. Her eyes were shining white, and her complete form appeared like a corporial manifestation of radiation itself. She stood over and in front of Queltsom in the training grounds, directing him on the use of the primitive type of energy drawn from the Kota realm, a place in the void said to be entirely made of energy, which repells any physical objects. That energy would enhance its wealder's body, and then dispurce after its mition is finished, never to be usable again by that person.
"Yes, I understand", Queltsom said. He was a boy who looked 5 years old, and had miniscule bright covered spots, thought to be signs of some injury of the past on both of his ears. He had brown eyes, black hair and a brown skin. His eyes were half closed, as it had been the case with him since his awareness. Their color was somehow faded, They looked like they were on the edge of disappearing from existance, or that's the impression begotten from them. He was wearing clothes made of tharo skin, the furr of a large feline creature with elongated sharp blades on each of its claws. It is known to be extremely fast and agile, and it represents both a high class furr source and an exercise for hunters, fighters and average people alike, as well as a companion for whoever cares about it. It also was an eddible creature, which added to the people's motivations for hunting it.
"Can I try that Kota thing now? I want to see how it works", he said with a pleading and excited childish tone.
"Yes, show me. I will give you some of my energy, use it to draw power from the Kota realm, and then hit me with an energy beam", she replied. "Tipically, you're not supposed to waste Kota by using it outwards since it fades quickly, but we're in a highly dense area so it won't be a problem", she added.
"Won't it hurt you though", Queltsom asked, having a little froun on his face.
"I am a big bad dragon, nothing short of a falling mountain can hurt me that much", She said with a chuccle.
"You're bragging! Are dragons supposed to brag?", he asked.
"Shut up and draw the dang energy", She said, and a blurry gray bar of energy shot from her and into Queltsom. He inspected the energy in his body, moved it to his left side, then tried to call out to the Kota realm by focusing his mind on the energy and imagining a bridge linking him to the Kota realm. Then he drew the power out, and an almost invisible, misshapen globe of power was placed at the right side of his body.
He started to compare the 2 energy masses, trying to see, or in his case feel the differences. "Dragnoria's power feels like a solid rock that seams to withstand anything, while mine feels like a, What is this stupid power I'm getting, is this Kota trying to trick me? I'll show him, her, it, whatever or whoever made this power. I'm gonna make them see who I am, like a big bad dragon would", He thought out loud, not realizing it untill Dragnoria chuckled again. Of course, he didn't hear that either, focusing on his energy training.
"Merge! Merge! Merge and be whole. You are my energy, which means you will do what I say you hear me? I said merge! Move! Harden into an unbreakable diamond. Yeah that's what you are, a diamond. Now, harrrrrrrrrrrrrdennnnnnnnnnnn!", he continued his loud thinking.
"What are you doing, child! You can not handle that! Your conducters aren't suited to such process untill you sharpen and improve them!", she said. She almost thought of breaking down his concentration when he started yelling like a mad man. "Huyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
His fist, now feeling like the skin were made with rocks, punched the dragon in the upper side of her lower scales, causing her to flinch at the unexpected display of strength.
"I thought you said that big bad dragons will face anything without flinching, but I just hurd you move. So by my very inaccurate estimations, you're not one of them, or you didn't expect me to pu......", then he fell on his back, moaning in pain. She quickly carried him to see his state, and his fist had a large bump in it as a sign of the move he pulled. "I'm fine", He said unconvincingly, then he tried to move his right hand and winced, negating the point he worked hard to make.
"Don't try that ever again, you hear? Your body might just burst out. Also, I said hit me with an energy beam, not punch me over my lower scales", then he cut her out saying: "I proved to you that I would show this Kota that gives people spoiled energy balls when they are new who's the student of a big bad dragon, and I will not abandon this clame, uh, at least not completely.", he said the last part in a lower voice. "But will you let me try half as much power hardening next times?", He asked.
"Ok fine, just half as much, untill you can do it in your sleep. I wanted to let you use the (spoiled) energy balls for a while to strengthen your body a little bit more to prepare you for the less spoiled ones, but I guess the circumstances made you quite stronger than an average person would be in the beginning."
"Circumstances? What circumstances", he said, not in his casual teezing voice, but rather a wary and guarded one. "Never mind that. Can you focus on the (stronger than normal people start) part, because now you're acting like someone wearing your face. Anyways just forget it ok?" "Sure, whatever", He replied.
"Dear God Queltsom. You're a pain to deal with sometimes", she said. "Uh, did I hurt you?", he asked. "Not quite, Queltsom, not quite".
"Uh, ok?", he said after a long awkward silence. "So what now?", he added. "Now, we go practice the techniques i've tought you in the slow time room. You won't be completely aware, but your soul will remind you of the moves. The same ones pertaining to the path of the cold fist that broot of a dragon has drilled into you. Can't believe I was forced to actually learn the techniques. Anyways, you'll practice those, along with additional moves to help you, like the dashing move of the romps, and a highly useful spinning move called endless vortex.", she said
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
The area they were training in, uncreatively named the training grounds, was a plane huge square space to allow for movement, combat practice, running and other training related activities. The ground was a little ruff and unpolished, but that usually wasn't a problem. It wasn't bumpy or hard to walk on, per se, but others of her kind, mainly the golden noble freakes, usually looked down on this place claming it to be a huge mistake in a supposedly excellently crafted building. Three of the walls were absolutely covered with training gears of all forms, shapes and sizes. There were short swords, long swords, daggers, bows and arrow quivers, gloves and even a sculpted imitation of your average standard fighter's armer set. The fourth wall had training dummies set out in a line on each of its 2 sides, where the dragon would let him practice with the dummies, which were enchanted to give them basic combat maneuvering techniques. She did not have a golemancer on hand to summon a talking rock or an artificial soul to make it learn to fight and pose a harder challenge when necessary. Simply put a complex enchantment on the darned thing, protect the runes and you're done.
"Are you ready to go to the time room?", she asked. "Yeah yeah, let's do this quickly because I don't feel very good when we finish", he replied. Swoosh. *Timeskip*.
Dragnoria (did her big bad dragon power thing) as young Queltsom would put it, and the door opened from one of the sides, the one with the dummies. She lowered herself to let the boy hop on her back, then she stood up after she made sure he held tite. She spread her wings, leapt in the air, and off they went.
After a short time, they arrived, and the dragon landed, the boy jumped from her back with a "weeeeeeeeeeeee!", and almost fell on his face, but he stood his ground and kept on his feet. She led him to a room made of wood and enhanced by her aura, with large beds and a table with a couple of chairs. The wooden floor was soft and polished, not to mention sturdy, mainly consisting of stealwood, a rare tree known for its beautiful black, majestic solidity unrivaled by any other type of wood in the Omnis. Therefor, it was mind bogglingly expensive. But Dragnoria didn't need to buy from the human woodsmen at all. She found, razed and cared for her own stealwood seed, which had clearly produced results. The chairs were made of the same material, with a coat of air iron to add that plushy feeling to them. The table was made of her own cristalized aura rather than any physical material. This whole house was her domain, so she always had a bit of her aura in it, He sat in front of the table, and Dragnoria told him to wait for her.
In the mean time, he thought of the new training he did with the beast that day, about that Kota power he used for the first time, after a year of theoretical training and body and mind enhancements, not to mention the weird time room thing that he just couldn't actually remember but still grasps at the same time. About punching Noria with an unexpected rocky fist, about her, moving in shock. He hird it, he had much powerful hearing after all. She moved as soon as he hit her. When he was trying his punches the first time with her, without any unconventional energies, she took it all without making a sound. But today, it's like she hid something from him. Did he hurt her? Is what he did, what he said to her, is all of it bad? She was nice to him, apart from the training which is not bad but it sometimes hurts like crap, should he apologize to her?
"No, no need for that, Quello", she said with an amused tone, causing him to instinctively turn to the location of the sound. "Why, I didn't hear you coming... Your claws are big... You.., you..., What did you? Hold on, let me fix my head".
"First, how did you come here without making a sound, and is that food I'm smelling? Second, prove to me that you're not an impersonator trying to take me from Noria. Third, if it is the real you, how did you read my thoughts? I'm pretty sure I didn't say them out loud, I never intentionally do that. Fourth and final question, is my attention skill flawed or compromised? Am I going to be bunnished for it?"
"ok, 1, Big bad dragon powers. Specifically, I can turn intangible, so my big claws won't make a sound. Also yes, that is food you're smelling. Second, *Rarg*. Third, I can read thoughts when you're spilling them all over the place without any mind protection technique, and before you ask, yes, I am going to teach the big bad dragon version of that move to you in the time room, so you don't get smashed by a mind dragon. Fourth: No, your attention isn't flawed nor is it compromised, and I won't be detected by anything that isn't as strong or stronger than me. Finally, yes, you are going to be bunnished for it. Happy now, paranoid Quello?" Noria replied. "Also, Noria? That's new to me. My name is Dragnoria though, not Noria, if you didn't know. Now eat your food before it becomes cold, and go sleep, because tomorrow you're going to train hard on hardening your conductors. Also, I believe you'll sleep for a longer period than normal, because that mind technique is going to be drilled into your spirit.".
"Yeah, thanks a lot, Noria", he said in his casual voice, indicating that he's trying to mess with her. She snarled. Also, how do I actually know the moves later?", he asked. "When your mind advances and grows up, you will eventually hit a barrior in your progress, so you'll have to analyze your instincts and soul driven actions and let your body, mind and soul be in sync with each other.", she replied. They ate in silence. They were eating tharo stew, as the critters are very common in Dolven. "Hey Queltsom? Where did you hear the word (critters)? I'm pretty sure I only said creature, not critter", She said in her now common amused tone. "Doesn't matter, nores".
"Oh, you're going with Nores now? You haven't even used Noria 10 times", She said. "Let's see, I said it the first time when I was thinking, then twice when speaking to you, so Noria Noria Noria Noria Noria Noria Noria. I have fulfilled your requirement of saying that word for 10 times, so we officially switch to Nores now.". "I decline", She said with her amused tone. "Why are you happy today? It's so not like you." "Oh shut up", she said.
They went to their beds, said their good nights, and were taken up by sleep. "Circumstances... I wonder what mine were..."
