Chapter 1:
A woman sat on a wooden chair, in an office in the compound of the noble family of rulers known as the Silverstars, in the center of the provincial city of Elva. The office was rectangular in shape, with red marble decorating the floor and ceiling. Three energy lamps were laid out in a triangle in the center of the ceiling. A large wooden desk was near the wall opposite the door, and 2 windows were open, letting fresh air into the room. The door was closed. On the desk, a large pile of paperwork was waiting to be processed by the woman who was scribbling on a paper at an astonishing speed. The woman was wearing a dark blue dress with golden inscriptions of the family's banner, which unsurprisingly was a silver-colored five-pointed star on a golden background. She had blue eyes, and she wore a golden scarf on the backside of her head where her hair is to conceal it, which is a very common practice in the Omnis at large for women as a tradition in every corner of civilization.
*Knock knock*! She stood up from her chair and her paperwork and said "Enter.". The door swung open with a click, and a man wearing deep green robes who had black eyes and dark hair entered the room. "Greetings, my lady.", he said in a neutral tone. "Greetings, Carlos", she replied in turn. He raised his right hand in a closed fist, then opened it, and then folded it as a salute. She nodded in acknowledgment.
"What do you come here for, Carlos?", she asked.
"My lady, we sensed a trembling in the ambient Kota energy that came from house 6. It was probably nothing, but I thought to report it anyway.", he answered.
"Good decision as always, Carlos. I'm proud to have you as my assistant.", she told him.
"It's... it's an honor to... to serve you, my lady!", he said, stuttering and raising the pitch of his voice. He had a smile on his face, enjoying the praise. She chuckled.
"Well, post 3 guards inside the house, and tell them to attack on site of any hostile actions.", she instructed.
"Of course, lady Jane.", he said, returning to his professional neutral tone.
"You're dismissed.", she concluded.
"Thank you, my lady", he replied, then left, closing the door again.
"Let's see what you are made of, boy", she said to herself.
Queltsom:
I woke up finding myself in a wooden bed, well, that's what it feels like anyway. The blanket I slept on didn't feel very comfortable, my neck kind of hurts right now. I touched the right side of the bed and found what feels like a wall. Why do I feel like I'm almost going to choke? There's almost no air around. Don't we have a window or something? Wait, we do have a window, and the bed is supposed to be made of old processed dragon scales, not wood! Where am I? Where am I? Hold on! The battle! Dragnoria is hurt! Gelrahq! What happened! Who brought me here? The last thing I remember is Dragnoria being in pain, then I was angry, and then, something, and then I'm here in a place I don't even know. Is this one of Noria's pranks? If it is then screaming with a Kota-powered throat will just cause her to laugh at me. This is the moment of truth.
"Draaaaaagnoooooooooooooriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!", I screamed as loud as I could, which was pretty dang loud! How could I have had this much power? Uh-oh, what if she's hurt from that scream!
My ears rang and the ground shook litely. I sure don't want to do that again. After a while, the ringing stopped with the reverberation of where I was, which felt like an empty room based on what I was noticing. I heard three sets of footsteps. Those didn't sound like the thick feet and claws of Noria, but closer to mine. Those are humans! I'm in trouble! Big trouble! Big triple trouble! I need to escape! I quickly stood up, rubbed off my eyes to get rid of the sleeping dusty substance, and started running for all I was worth! Why do I feel like I'm bigger? Oh yeah, I sounded older when I screamed. Just how much time has passed I ran blindly, which is the only way I could ever run by the way, and the footsteps got closer. Uh-oh, why am I running toward them! What am I thinking! I switched directions, but they followed all the same.
"Halt!", one of the humans, who sounded like a man, shouted. I ignored him and kept running for my life. "And why would I do that?", I absently thought.
"Halt! This is the guard of the Silverstars. By the authority of lady Jane, come with us!", another one said, also a man. Lady Jane? I was definitely brought to a place I don't know anything about! God's mercy what should I do what should I do! I'm definitely not going with them! Can I fight them off? I can't attack them first, but if they attack I'll definitely fight back. I heard some sort of string pulling back and tightening in the direction of one of the three, then I sensed a Kota beam moving, toward me. I tried to get out of its way, but I was too slow, and it hit me. I grunted in pain. Now that string snapped, and I sensed air movement. I darted to the right and the thing that was shot at me fell to the floor in a clink. I moved closer to the men, and then smashed their projectile weapon with a burst of Kota energy after I heard it pull back again. Both I and the men stopped running and stood opposite each other and panted for a while. I took longer though.
"You hit me!", I said in a mildly growling voice.
"What?", one of them asked. "What the hell are you babbling about, brat?"
"You hit me.", I repeated. "So I'm allowed-..." I charged my fist with Kota using the diamond technique I crafted last time. I found that I could easily draw energy into myself and I felt strong overall even without using Kota directly. "To fight back!", I added, and punched one of them in the chest. He screamed in pain, and the rest of them growled at me. "Fall, bastard!" Both remaining men charged towards me after I stepped back, when I punched their friend. The Kota I held finished dissipating, and I braced myself for their next move.
The man whom I had punched a moment ago stood up and started speaking to the others.
"Hey, give me all your energy! I want to bring this runt down myself."
"Are you sure?", another one asked.
"Yeah, I owe him a big beating.", he answered.
"Fine, just bring him down and then call us so we can carry him to the lady.", the third said.
"Sure, as long as I get to have fun!", he said. I sensed two threads of Kota containing a large amount of energy between them, but the energy itself felt even more spoiled than the one I got when I drew Kota from its realm for the first time. Didn't they know how to harden their energy? Those threads connected to each side of the man who liked to kill people. And two big balls of energy now hung on the part of his body where I thought the neck to be, based on the height of the man. I determined his height based on where his voice came out when he talked.
"Hear that, brat? I'm gonna have fun beating you to death", he said, laughing maniacally.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"I'm happy you want to fight me on your own. Because that way I can defeat you without needing to worry about your friends! You just made it easier for me, mister... Wait, what's your name? I really forgot to ask you. Did you even tell me what your name was? What kind of stupid idiot forgets to tell people his name? You're a new type of idiot it seems.", I said Dragnoria told me to act like that on people who wanted to kill me. She referred to it with something like blindsiding your opponent's mind or whatever. But, I enjoyed making my enemies angry for some reason. Especially right now.
"Why you! You talk too much, and I'm going to enjoy breaking you!", he screamed.
I felt him jump with my Kota senses. "Gathering stage!", he screamed. He appeared to draw Kota, but not from the realm though. He siphoned it off from the air itself, which explained the stupidity of the energy he and his friends had used. "Refining stage!", he said. The energy he collected then started to gather itself together and merge, without getting rid of the air and the other materials which decreased the efficiency of the energy. "Release!", he said, throwing the resulting energy at me. I sensed it and dodged the mini-blast, which hit the floor with a low boom!
"Stop running like a rabbit and die!", he yelled.
"That's not how you use Kota energy, idiot!", I said to him. "I'm going to enjoy shattering you, you little runt! Trying to lecture me on the use of my power, are you? We'll see who's the stupid one when your blood flows through my hands.", he said. Disgusting! This guy likes bloodying people. I guess I'll just have to hit him an extra for that.
I sped up with a brief jolt of Kota to my legs and feet and charged the guy, not wanting to be hit by one of these slow-moving Kota blasts. He gasped, and abruptly ate one of the big balls of energy, which surprisingly did not feel like the spoiled energy he had used before. His body suddenly blew to bursting with Kota. And he stepped closer to me.
"Hyaaaaaah! This is the power! Can you see it now? Do you see it? Haaaahahahahaa!", he screamed. He tried to punch me, but I heard the movement of his clothes and braced myself to block it by putting both of my fists in a defendive position. I think it's called defensive. I sensed a movement in the air to the left. I instinctually spread my hand to block it, but there was nothing there. Thankfully my balance, coupled with my Kota-enhanced speed, compensated for my slip-up. After that, I kicked him in the belly. He grunted but didn't fall. He tried to knock me down with his leg after I kicked him, but I held firm to the ground. He swung at me with a two-handed punch, and it connected. I felt a lot of pain, but I ignored it. The adrenalin rush prevented me from feeling it much. Also, I was used to pain. I was living drowned in it practically my whole life, after all.
I then made a tether of Kota and trapped both of his hands. He tried to break free but I had a lot of Kota, which meant that I could spend more Kota on strengthening the tether with no regard to how much energy that burned. The tether stayed intact. I prepared for a punch, but I concentrated too hard on drawing energy, leaving me blinder to my surroundings. He kicked me, noticing my moment of weakness. I stumbled backward, and he almost broke the trap. Thankfully I made it extra durable, because there's no such thing as overpreparation. I recovered my stance and kept pulling and tugging on the tether closer to distract him. Then I made another tether and trapped both of his feet with it, locking them in to keep his feet from changing position or kicking me. I anchored the tethers to the floor to prevent them from dissipating.
"Punch of the...", I screamed, circulating the Kota I already had into both of my fists to make them as hard as a diamond. I made layers upon layers of energy, as much as I was capable of churning out within that short time. There's no holding back now. "Century! Titan's fist!", I shouted, and flung my clenched fists at him.
The boooooom that resulted echoed hard, and my ears rang for the second time today. The last one felt like a fly buzzing in comparison to this one. They almost bled. The man screamed in pain, and I finally thought I won. I overdid it though, because my hand shattered, and blood fell on the floor. I screamed along with him. Then I used Kota to reattach my arm in place. The little Kota strand pointed to my right, and I knelt on the ground and the line found something. It gripped the arm, coated in blood and jerked it to finish attaching the first piece, then another line branched off from the strand and found all of my fingers and the second hand and did the same.
Then I remembered the man, who was slowly standing up. "I'll kill you!", he screamed slowly. "I don't give a flying frick what the Silverstar prick wants from you. I'll blast you off myself!".
He ate the second energy core and then brought even more, presumably from his bag. He had 4 of the balls, and he ate them all in quick succession. His Kota signature now felt like a chaotic wave. He started screaming like a weird monster and flooding the place with Kota left and right and destroying things. I heard crumbling and breaking noises. He shot a blast at me, but I moved out of the way in time to dodge. I still got a lot of shrapnel raining down on my head though.
Then I felt a pressure in the air. It was subtle, but it was unmistakable. The pressure increased, and I heard the man stop. His tone transformed from a mad roar to a fearful wimper.
"Another guard? Is it the one who tried to distract me earlier? Well, I gotta wrap this up quickly, or I'm gonna be mobbed by two enemies. I'm already just about holding my own against this one, and I don't think I can handle two just yet", I thought.
"Diamond-...", I growled. I drew an amount of power I never even dreamed of using, and started spinning each part of the energy I collected and letting it flow and rage, then I began drawing even more energy to ramp up the pressure, and spin the latest chunk of energy as well, exponentially increasing the amount of power. Each segment clashed with the others and the result was a maelstrom of spinning Kota waves.
"Tornado!", I yelled. Then something inside of me snapped, and I lost control of the energy, which started slipping and dissipating.
"No no nooooooo!", I screamed. Then more power slipped from my body, and more, and more. The air was thick with my Kota. The earth was rumbling from the amount of it, and my mind was anxious and desperate. Then my body started groaning, and pain quickly built up in every single inch of it.
"Noo! Noooo! My power! Come back!", I yelled. The power did not listen. No matter how much I tried gripping it, it quickly turned into air and went away, clouding the room even further. I lost consciousness, and I was thankful that the pain stopped bothering me.
