As soon as the sun rose, I felt that it was time for me to wake up. I look around and finally remember where I was.
This might be another world, but this bed gotta be one of the best beds I slept in. I almost don’t want to leave this bed. Too bad, I didn’t eat any food from the moment I got transported here, damn my stomach is calling for food.
I walked downstairs to the dining areas. As I expected, there weren't many people gathered here right now, there were the receptionist and three other people. I greeted them and they returned the greeting as well as saying that breakfast would be prepared shortly. I sat near the window to look outside while I was waiting for my food. The sun barely came over the houses yet the houses weren't that tall, I guess it was about six o’clock if there was a time system in this world, as far as I could tell, there wasn’t any clock or time mentioned when I was walking to this inn yesterday.
Only when the sun reached over the houses did I smell the delicious breakfast that seemed to consist of milk, bacon, beef, and toast.
When the person who was working next to the receptionist brought over the food, I used this chance to introduce myself as well as giving my thanks.
“Thank you, my name is Night, what’s yours?”
“No need to thank me, it was the cook. My name is Delfer, and I am working with my wife, Sally over there. If you ever need any help or refill, feel free to ask us.”
“Nice, I will hold you to that, by the way, do you have a clock?”
“Sadly no, we are not rich enough to buy one of those, we just recently moved into this city, we heard that an event is being held, something about a competition of those who can walk through the beacon’s barrier, because of this event, me and my wife, as well as a friend of mine who is the cook, decided that we could earn more money by coming to this city because tourists would be coming from all over to see the home of the ancient ones getting opened which was a legend who was known by everybody on this continent. In fact, I think it’s happening tomorrow, we would be checking it out, want to come?”
“I am interested, count me in.”
Delfer nodded and headed back to the main room. I ate my dinner ravishingly and requested a second and third plate before I was content with myself. I said my goodbyes to the couple when I said I would be going out for a walk.
Those are some nice couples, isekai manga certainly don’t have these kinds of people that much when I was reading them. I hoped nothing bad happened to them. Next, I would need to secure a source of income, I am pretty much broke because my only money was from the bandits, and I couldn’t possibly hunt bandits for the rest of my life. Let's see if there is an adventure guild nearby, I am not even sure if it’s a thing for every isekai including this one.
As I planned to walk to the guard station at the gate for more information, I noticed that not many shops were open, some were prepared to open, it seem like it’s too early for anyone to get ready.

I reached the guard stations, and I found the same pair of guys who were guarding the gate against yesterday. I said my greetings and began firing my questions.
“Hello, I was wondering if I could ask you some questions because I am new here.”
“Oh, you were the guy who didn’t know how to open the menu from yesterday, what do you need?”
Ignoring that remark, I asked, “Do you guys perhaps know where the adventure guild is?”
“I do actually, you know the inn that I showed you yesterday, turn right after two streets and go straight for another three streets and there will be a slightly bigger building apart from other houses, it should have a sign saying it’s an adventure guild. Seems like you want to be an adventurer, good luck!”

He slapped me on the back, and surprisingly, even though I stumbled a bit, I didn’t feel any pain, probably because of my status. I need to figure out my status or find someone that knows who I am really soon.

“So this building is it?”
I reached the building before long, and I noticed that it is certainly a bit bigger than the other houses, yet the impressive thing is that it is more than twice as high as other houses near it. I walked in through the opened gate, and I found many reception tables that were waiting at the other side of the room. On the left side of the door, there were quests being pinned by nails. On the right side of the door, there was a bar, and many tables were set up around it. On the left side of the reception tables, there was a staircase going up.
I walked up to one of the reception tables, and there was a man who had red hair, and brown eyes.
“I am here to register as an adventurer.”
“Please place your hand on the stone in front of me.”
As I placed my hand on the stone, lines of encrypted letters begin to form a circle in which he took out a piece of card on the other side of the stone. He handed it over.
“Here is your card, remember that this can also be used as a physical menu to show your status as a person that is not a criminal. The lowest rank of an adventurer is F while the highest is S. While there are not many S rankers, they are a different league on their own, they tried to hide who they are, so don’t go messing around with other adventurers, you might get beat up no matter who you might be. Quests that are the same rank can be accepted, higher than your rank quests require a party to be accepted, a party can be formed with a minimum of two and a maximum of seven. Normal quests posted by the guild don't have a time limit, while special quests that were requested by the people do have one. You could always come back anytime if you have questions.”
I don’t have any questions, so I shook my head and walked away after thanking him. I looked at the quest board and decided that I will be taking on the killing of rabbits. I handed the quest over to the guy and he registered it on my card. After that, I walked out of the adventure guild and figured out what my next step was. But then, I was stopped by a bunch of people right after I walked out.

“Come with us”
“Hell no, why should I do that?”
“We just want to have a talk in the alley.”
“You do know that is super suspicious, right?”
“Either you come with us with your own will, or we will drag you.”
“Alright, I s…”
Before I finished my sentence, I turned around and ran in the other direction of the people who looked like they were the embodiment of trouble. I ran but before long, they managed to corner me into an alleyway in the end.
“Um, okay, you guys can talk now?”
“Damn brat, make us spend this much energy just to chase you down. Now hand over your money and your sword.”
“I rather not, I wouldn’t be able to hunt rabbits without a weapon.”
“I don’t care, bois, get him!”
“You people are so annoying, I don’t even have stuff.”
After I made my retort, I began to draw my sword since they had their weapons drawn already. It seems they decided to just kill me since all three of them have daggers out and rushed at me. I had no choice but to return the killing intent.
I reflected on the first strike that was made by the middle guy, the rebound was stronger on him because I had a bigger and heavier weapon. Then the second guy came at me and threw one of his daggers, I had no choice but to get into a defensive stance, and then the third guy struck me from the side.
“Damn, you guys are seriously depressed to attack a poor guy like me.”
“I don’t give a shit about who you are, be it that you are the run-away prince, or the old man that spread the prophecy, I kill whoever is weaker than me.”
I stood back up before a third strike that was aiming at my head hit. My right arm was bleeding, but it didn’t hurt that much, in fact, there wasn’t even that much blood. I gave up on playing defensive, I decided that I should be the one that rushed this time. I changed my grip on my sword and dashed toward them while I swung my sword, which served the guy who gave me the wound right in the middle. Then I moved on to the next one, I swung my sword again, but this dude blocked my sword from hitting his body, yet the force knocked him unconscious as he hit the wall. Two more to go.
“I would give up if I were you right now, I could just pretend this didn't happen,” I said.
“You killed one of my henchmen, why would I do that?” The leader guy in the very back said.
“I was just self-defending myself through?” I questioned.
Instead of answering, the remaining two just rushed me. They formed a pincer formation. I was getting annoyed and kind of pitying these two people for their stupidity as to why they just wouldn’t leave me alone. I am confident that I could win too. I feel the power surging from within, it slowly enchants the blade I held into a brilliant transparent glow. A series of the image went into my head as to how to use it, and so I followed my instincts and swung the sword horizontally from left to right.
The duo that didn’t know what I was doing and I who don’t even know what I am doing was shocked when a blade of transparent energy flew to the duo with the speed of sound and served their body in halves. I was gasping in shock because of that.
“Yo...u, who-o are y-you…” The leader asked no one in particular in his dying breath.
I who snap back to reality decide to get out of the crime scene before anything could happen. As Murphy’s law states, “Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.”

Back in the alleyway was a person dressed in an agile gear which was plated with a shiny blue metal alloy. That person was watching the whole thing unfold on top of the alleyway. That person muttered while smiling amusingly, “Seems like the prophecy is true…”
The three people that died in the alleyway disappeared into green essence which flowed up toward the person, and with the essence completely absorbed, that person disappeared which left the unconscious bully the only one that was left in the alleyway.
