Chapter 17 Great Voyage

Ships from all the world converged on kings landing from the Red keep you could see flags from private merchants look for a new trade route then all the Lords of the seven kingdoms with stakes in shipping and trade such as house Redwyne and house Manderly who had come to join the crowns little trade expedition. You could also see some notable ships from The city states of Volantis, Tyrosh, Lys, Myr as well as Pentos and Braavos who had followed behind their own diplomatic ships of Britannia but they were much less as the city states didn't want to commit to much to a expedition past Westeros as whatever returns would take to long to return. It's likely that the rulers of the city states simply didn't want to be shown up by the other states or mocked by their rivals.

With so many ships and crew from all over public order was near nonexistent you could step over a drunken sailor in every street or have a brawl between crews over a worn out Whore or Cultural differences that usually ended in a stabbing. So it was with great relief to the people of kings landing when they finally followed the two ships out of Kings landing for lanisport to resupply before going West of the west.

The conditions when sailing are quite awful Serra knew this because for the past few weeks she had been stored onboard and treated with the same care the Lys magistrate who owned this ship and her had shown is material offerings to the king of the new land. And with all that it was still hard to bear the sea sickness, or the smell of the crew.

The last time she went out for fresh air the magistrate had Caught someone looking at her the wrong way and had him thrown overboard to make a point.

I was trained to be an excellent and expensive Bed slave with the beauty and grace of a noble of Valeria combined with the skills of a Whore. If this trip hadn't come up the magistrate would of most surely taken it on him himself to taste me but sadly for him he was losing his political power and his enemies smelled the blood in the water so he gambled on this trip to save himself when he had no other options.

And I was to be his most precious gift I couldn't be damaged before then. Even if it's some greasy, drunk fat king I wouldn't mind because just looking at the Magistrates eyes tells me I'm going to be lost at sea if not accepted.

Stanis barathion didn't mind being born the second son nor the looks of the kings court and nobles of kings landing but he did get have no small amount of fury at his Elder brothers actions since becoming king. Sure they were never close or had a brotherly bond but to give Renly the storm lands while he got a the rock in the ocean known as dragon stone. To make matter's worse he also got the useless position of master of ships on the small council and now was pushed into going to the ends of the world where few ever returned from to meet with an unknown king on behalf of his brother. Luckily Ser Davos Seaworth advised him on the potential benefits of being the first to contact this new land for the Seven kingdoms and himself.

His reasoning truly cemented itself when the fleet abruptly came out of a large storm only to be greeted by another fleet of ships far larger than their trade ship escorts and out numbering the warships the coalition fleet had. There was a tense atmosphere as the two fleets stood off against one another signals communicating orders and requests among each other eventually a pact was reached and one ship from both fleets carrying representatives would meet in the middle to talk. It took a lot longer for Stannis to get his ship to the meeting point as he had to push around all the self important merchants who wanted to join and then use the size of the Westeros fleet to assemble all the even more egotistical rable that came from Essos lest they go ahead and make a fool of themselves by not representing all of the fleets interests to our hosts or worse slight them and doom us all to a battle with more advanced ships at our front and a storm at our backs.

The the scale of the ship amazed Stannis as he climbed abored. It was made from so much metal and wood it would bankrupt any lord foolish enough to try and the tube's of metal seem to be used like our scorpions and catapults given their placement. There's paneling on the sides maybe to allow for oars but he hasn't seen that on the trade ships. He was brought out of his thought's when he got to the top of the deck.

There was a soft rumble coming from inside the ship like a sleeping beast On the deck there was a large wood table with white chairs all around made from some kind of soft wood and exotic food fit for a king served on ceramic plates. Their was no other drink except water that was somehow cold despite no ice and the wrong climate.
