chapter two:Barfi

chapter two:Barfi

The royal carriage rode up the winding mountain path, surrounded by dense forests on both sides. The wheels creaked as they climbed higher, the horses' hooves pounding on the rocky ground. The air grew colder and thinner as they ascended, mist clinging to the trees and wisps of fog rolling around them. The Vice captain of the royal army John, a stern and imposing figure, rode at the front of the carriage, his hand on the hilt of his sword, constantly surveying the surrounding landscape for any threats.

Inside the carriage, the King sat hunched, his brow furrowed with worry. He looked out the window, taking in the desolate, rocky terrain that stretched out before them. He knew that the journey would not be easy, but he had no choice. He had to fulfill his duty, even if it meant sacrificing his own son.

While they are reaching the destination, the King thoughts what is the meaning of father?

For the King, the word "father" carries a deep emotional significance. He believes:

Father, a word that echoes love and strength,

A guiding light that shines through any length,

A hand to hold through life's endless fray,

A shelter in the storm, a rock to lean on,

A love that endures, never to be gone,

A bond that's forged with sweat and tears,

A love that knows no bounds, no end.

While king is thinking about the meaning they reached the top of the mountain, the carriage came to a stop, and the captain quickly jumped down, scanning the area for any signs of danger. The King stepped out of the carriage, fixing his gaze on the solitary figure in the distance - the nameless boy. Although his heart sank at the thought of what he had to do, he knew it was necessary to save his kingdom.

The captain and his men formed a protective circle around the King as he slowly walked towards the boy. The air was still, and the only sound came from the soft clinking of the bells around the boy's neck. The King knelt before the boy, tears streaming down his face.

he said forgive me, my son.

"I know I am unqualified to call myself a father," he said. "A father catches his child before he falls, shows him the right path in life, holds him when he cries, scolds him when he makes mistakes, and fills with pride when his son succeeds in life."

As the prime minister advised the king not to give a name to the boy, so that he wouldn't get attached to him, a deep remorse rose in the king's heart. He realized that even now, his wife was unaware of their son's existence, and everyone in the kingdom believed that their first prince had died at birth. The king yearned for the people of the country to know about his son, but fate had other plans. As he looked into his son's eyes, he felt lost and helpless, not knowing what to call him. The weight of his responsibilities as a father seemed too heavy to bear, and he wished for death.

The king gazed at his son with teary eyes, but the child's expression remained devoid of emotions. In that moment, the only thought that came to the king's mind was to give his son a name. For him, not naming the child would feel like abandonment. Despite his selfish desire to have his son know that he cared for him, the king knew that he could at least give him a name. Finally, he decided to name his son, declaring, "From today onwards, you shall be called Vincet Barfi. Your first name will be Barfi, and your surname will be Vincet."

The boy looked at his father and didn't know what to say, but at last, he got a name. However, there were no visible emotions in his eyes. He simply nodded his head to confirm his father's decision

Seeing the lack of reaction from his son, the King felt guilty. Turning back on the responsibility of a father is the most spineless thing one can do. But there was nothing he could do. To protect the kingdom from devils, a sacrifice of royal blood was needed to please the gods. As a king, but not as a father, the young man made the choice to sacrifice his son instead of the people of the kingdom.

Akashi stood,A smile upon his face, his heart filled with good."Barfi," he whispered, to the great king's ear. A name he once opposed, now he wished to hear.

As the eclipse reached its final phase, Akashi urged the sages to begin the sacrificial process.

The two sages beside the king raised their hands and chanted a mantra, upon which a circle was formed on the ground.

As the final moment approached, the king gazed at his son with a mix of pride and sorrow, And as a token of love, he gifted the boy a gem, his emotions he couldn't burrow, With tears streaming down his face, he handed the gem over to Barfi, As Akashi guided the boy towards the circle's center, no one could deny.

Barfi stepped forth towards the heart of the ritual ground, And as he stood there, a blinding light engulfed him, as if heaven had unbound. The sound of thunder echoed, and the light illuminated all, For a moment, everyone shut their eyes, and the sight became small.

When they opened their eyes, the boy had vanished from sight, Leaving behind a sense of emptiness, a feeling of fright. The king and his people had sent him off to a new land, A place where Barfi's destiny and his fate would forever stand.
