Chapter 4

“Ash is WHAT?!” I screamed.

“GONE!!!” Said Ellie, her eyes red from tears. Ellie was always very good friends with Ash, so I could tell she meant it.

But just in case, I looked over to Ash’s bed, and sure enough, it was empty.

“Ellie, did you see anything, anything at ALL that might clue us into where she could have gone?!” I said.

“Yes! Yes, there was!” She said,

“WHAT IS IT!?” I roared.

She ran over to the bed, and threw off the covers, and picked up a shiny platinum pin that read “Resident of Tatooine”. I got up, ran over to the desk, and very suddenly picked up my porta-computer, and typed in “Current residents of Tatooine”

It brought me to a site that read “2,385 current residents of Tatooine.”

The number was rising every 3 or so minutes. I then decided to type in “Current Resident list of Tatooine”

It then popped up to a site that read the full name, and job of each resident of Tatooine.

“Ellie! Come help me with this!” I yelled, starting to panic.

“You’re in the yearbook club, right?!” I said quickly.

“Yes, I am.” She said,

“Read me off the last names of every student here in alphabetical order!”

“Can do!” Said Ellie.

“There is Anderson, Andon, Amelia, Amcaio, Bentle, Brown, Bailey, Canton, Serves. . .”

She went on like this for what seemed like hours until I finally got a match.

“There is Joseph and Johnson. . .”

“Johnson! I think this is him!” Ellie said excitedly

“We need to make sure it's him. Crosscheck his name, description, and every available photo from the past few days at maximum against police databases and the academy's student database!” I am frantically kind of yelled.

“Yes, Johnson is a 40-year-old wheat farmer on Tatooine, and he has 4 sons, James, Anton, Mario, and…. *GASP*!”

“What?! What is it?!” I said, More excited than ever.

“T-the l-last sons-s name i-is. . . i-is. . .”

“What?! What is it?! Is it a clue?!”

“The last son's name is H-Hugo,” Ellie said, looking like she was going to throw up.

“Looks like we found him.” I said

“But why would he leave his pin?” Ryan said.

“Im… not sure.” I responded.

It all seemed too. . . I don’t know, simple.

So the very next day we all got on a ship that could fit all of us and I flew us to Tatooine. There we found the Johnson Residence next to a massive wheat field.

“Where do you think she is?” I whisper.

“I think she is in the house's basement.” Ryan says.

“I think you're right.” Ellie whispered back.

We went up to the door of the house and it was locked.

“Stand back.” I said, igniting my deep blue lightsaber. With blinding brilliance my lightsaber blade cut through the door.

We went inside and went down to the basement and there we found Ash, unconscious and tied up in a closet.

“Oh my gosh, Ash?!” Ellie said and pushed me out of the way to go see her.

“W-what hap-pend?” Ash said in a dazed voice.

“I w-was s-sleeping and then I woke up h-here.”

“Come on,” I said. “Let’s get you back to the dorms.”

We were just about to our dorm, when we ran into a certain someone.

“Well well well.”

“Hugo, back off.” Ellie said.

“We need to get her to the dorms.”

“I'm afraid that I can't let you do tha-” Hugo was stopped by a loud voice: BEEP! The intercom chimed.

“Hugo Johnson to the office please”

“Oh great.” Hugo said and wandered off to the office.

“I have a feeling that is the last time we will see him for a while.” Ellie said, pink with anger.

We rested Ash on her bed, and I went to get some soup from the cafeteria. Ash was sick, and she looked like she had been frozen in carbonite. I came into the cafeteria, waved hello to gammy, (the head chef) and asked him for some of his bantha eyeball soup (It is actually quite good once you try it!)

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Urrrgh, it’s too early,” Gammy said. “You kids have lunch at 12:00!”

I ignored his little remark, and said, “It’s a jedi emergency! We have a sick friend, and she really needs some of your awesome, delicious soup!” If you can’t win them, butter them up!

“Heh, urrrgh, ummm, eh. . .,” Gammy grunted. “Fine. This one time though!”

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you to the moon of Endor and back!”

Gammy grunted, and poured a scoop of frozen bantha eyeball soup into a compostable bowl, and grunted “You’re gonna have to warm it up though. I am not gonna do all of the work for you.”

“Can do Gammy!” I said, thankful that he had fallen for my complements. I only really meant half of them.

The walk down the numerous, long corridors was uneventful. But when I got back down to the dorm, well, that’s a whole different story. I walked through the door, and almost immediately saw Ellie, red with tears, and what looked to be fear, sitting next to Ash, (who was still on her bed) and whispering something to Ellie.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“A-ash told me something. The only thing she remembers about being kidnapped. . .”

“Ellie,” I said, giving Ash her soup. “Let's talk outside the dorm.”

Ellie nodded and we left the dorm, went into the hallway, and sat down right next to our lockers, and Ellie told me the whole story.

“So, she said that she remembered being woken up by Master Skywalker's voice, telling her that she needed to come to his office to discuss a matter that couldn't be talked about in front of all of her roommates. So she followed ‘him’---”

“Wait, why did you say ‘him’, and not Master Skywalker?”

“Because Ash never saw Master Skywalker’s face, she only heard his voice, so we assume it was not Master Skywalker, but just a him. So she followed a black cloak---”

“Master Skywalker never wears a black cloak! That couldn't have been him!”

“Let me finish!” Ellie said, obviously annoyed that I kept interrupting her.

She continued: “Ash followed a black cloak to Master Skywalker’s classroom, and there Anakin's voice said: ‘I know who you are, truly’. And Ash said back: ‘You have no idea who I am! You are just bluffing!’ But then the voice said back: ‘I know that you gave them those lightsabers’. . .” Ash’s voice trailed off.

“What?! Ash gave us those lightsabers?! I am so confused. How!?”

That night we played fortnite, (no pun intended) She stayed at your house late, and dropped off the lightsaber, and then made it around to all of our houses. She had one too, to make it look like she was given one as well. She is a-a…”

“A what!?”

“Ash is a-a s-spy.”

“WHAT?!” I nearly screamed. “A SPY FOR WHO?!?!”

“A spy for Y-yoda. . .”

“The yoda?!”

“Yes. But she is not a spy looking for evil.”

“Well, DUH. She wouldn’t be a spy for evil if she was a spy for Yoda.”

“She is a spy for the force. She was sent here because she was told that there was a dark soul, looking for a way to wield the force. She was sent here in fifth grade, so that she could protect us.”

“Why us though?”

“We don’t know it, but we are all very strong in the force. Ash came here to make sure we weren’t going to get hurt.”

I felt dead inside. Ash hadn’t really been my girlfriend, she was just looking out for me. She hadn’t really been Ellie’s best friend, she was just taking care of her. She hadn’t done this for friendship. She was a fake.

“So, Ash is a fake.” I said, hurt.

“What do you mean?” Ellie said, looking confused.

“She was your fake friend, my fake girlfriend, and a fake human.”

Ellie smiled.

“I think I gave you the wrong perspective about this,” She said, still smiling. “You see, Ash didn’t come here just because she was sent. Ash came here because she wanted to. She saw the way we always came through to each other, and she realized that she wanted a friend. She saw good in us, and she liked you. She is not a fake, she just wanted us to not worry, so she didn’t tell us.”

I felt much better.

“Keep going with the story.” I said, eager.

“Okay, so after he said that, he took off the cloak, and two people stepped out of it. She said that she remembered that one of them was shorter than the other, possibly still a padawan, (for those of you non-force sensitives: a student) She said that she didn’t have time to look at the taller one’s face, because she was hit with some kind of tranquilizing item, that knocked her out. The next time she woke up was in a hot basement with Hugo staring at her face first. She told me that he was trying to persuade her to show him the ways of the force. She denied, and told him that he would never use it for good. And then he told her: “Your bones will forever lie here”.

“Dude. . .” I said, obviously terrified.

“I know, right?” Ellie said.

“I have one more question.” I said.

“Go for it.”

“Why didn’t Ash tell me this first? I am not saying that she doesn’t trust you. . . I just feel like I should have been the first one to know. I know that that sounds super vain of me. Sorry.”

“I know what you mean. The answer to your question is: Ash only just remembered what happened to her while you were going to get the soup.”

“No, I mean, the spy thing.”

“That ties into the whole story. She was actually kinda hesitant when she told me that. I understood that she really wanted to tell you, not me.”

That night I sat bolt upright in my bunk trying to put together the story, it all sounded weird; like there was something more, I don’t know. . . sinister about it, but I just couldn't quite place my finger on it. I had trouble sleeping that night, my thoughts were racing like starspeeders. The next morning, very early (I think about 5 or 6) I got out of bed with a strange feeling of being watched. I shook it off.

“It's nothing. You're OK.” I said to myself in the dark dorm.

I grabbed my lightsaber and my padawan robe and went into the dark hallway of the academy. I pressed the activator on my lightsaber and all I heard was ZZZZZZP!

“Huuuh?!” I said surprised. “The Kyber Crystal!”

I took off the emitter of my lightsaber and then disconnected the chassis and found the empty chamber where the kyber crystal was supposed to be. In a panic I rushed to the dorm room door, opened it and used the force to turn on the lights.

“Huh? What’s going on. . .” Ellie said in her tired voice.

“Guys check your lightsabers. I think Ash stole our Kyber crystals!”

“What!” Cried Ellie as she peered into her lightsaber's crystal chamber where her purple crystal should have been.

“No!” Said Kylan to the same results.

“Wait, use the force to get them!” Wyatt said.

Everyone closed their eyes and outstretched their hands and all of our kybers came out from under Ash’s pillow. It was then that we realized that Ash was in her bed! I raced and turned off the lights. Ash was a VERY heavy sleeper so she probably wouldn't have noticed anything. We talked in hushed voices and managed to put our kybers into our lightsabers in the dark (for those of you at home, do not attempt to do this. I almost cut off a hand). Then we all ignited our lightsabers and pointed the tips of our blades toward Ash’s head.

“Guys what are you doing? It's too early.” Ash said

“We know who you are.” Ellie said, pointing her purple blade towards Ash’s face.
