Adult website:
"What a loser," I feel like shit every time I do it, but I still come back every day just to feel that small pump of endorphin. And then I get more depressed. How many times did I think about ending it now? Even that I can’t do. I get scared shitless every time I try. It’s not that I want to die, but it just sounds simple. Just "death." Nothingness. Or at least better than this... this struggle of everyday plain life.
After my parents died, life just became grim. Having to face this world alone as a teen was miserable.
I was bullied in high school by trash for being an easy pick, the loner-depressed kid with no parents.
But the adults were the bigger pieces of shit, ignoring the bullying, making it sound like child's play.
Others wanted to take advantage of whatever small things my parents left behind. Well, at least the bullying stopped after I started martial arts, and they got scared of the club members' retaliation.
Then it turned to ignoring me. No one wanted to talk to me, eat with me, or be near me. And even now at work, I'm alone.
I keep hearing them whisper about how gloomy and scary I look, or that I look like a serial killer. But I just look plain.
I have no defining features is that what a killer would look like? whatever, I'm sure no one would care if I never came back. Maybe the manager, since he will have to find a replacement. Ah, Like I care. I don't have any attachment to them or this shitty world either.
He goes to close the tab, "Wait, what is this? I've never seen this ad before. It looks really good. Someone put in the effort for an adult website ad. Usually, they look like shit and are really stupid."
The ad said: "Bored of your menial life? Worry no more! In the world of Eligorth, you can be whatever you like. In a world ruled by the strong and dragons roam the skies, where swords and magic can be acquired by anyone, you can be the next hero or the master of the underworld."
"Ok, that sounds interesting. Let’s see if it is one of those Flash browser games or if I need to download it."
New tab: "Choose your race"
*Human: Humans are adaptable and diverse, with varied physical and intellectual traits and cultures. They excel in a range of skills. They are the most common race as they reproduce a lot compared to other races since they have a low life expectancy.
*Elf: Elves are a race of beings known for their elegance, keen intellect, and mastery of magic. They embody a deep connection with nature, possessing long lifespans and a society steeped in tradition and refinement.
*Dwarf: Dwarves are stout and resilient, renowned for their craftsmanship, mining skills, and unwavering loyalty to clan and kin. They often inhabit underground strongholds, a society of forgers making mighty weapons and armor.
*Beast-men: Beast-men are a humanoid race that has similar traits to humans but mostly animals. Their different physical features and strong attunement to the wild make them a tribal race that doesn’t like to mix with others.
*Demi-humans: Demi-humans are hybrids that possess both human and non-human characteristics. They might include races like half-elves, half-orcs, or other hybrids resulting from the intermingling of humans and other races.
"Ok, this does look interesting. The races are kind of the normal pick that you'd have in any game, but there are quite a few to choose from, so at least they didn't slack on that part. Ok, let’s go with a human race for a first play to test it out."
"Next is in what empire to start. The choices are:
*The holy empire of Kenna: A land ruled by the pope after the establishment of the church of Seraphine, the goddess of light, after The First Great War. They are human supremacists, and all other races are inferior.
Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there.
*The empire of Honos: A strong, brutal, expansionist empire ruled by military and honor, made by the first king and emperor Honos after he combined multiple tribes and ruled them in The First Great War. It doesn't matter who you are; anyone can rise to a position of power and respect if they display the necessary aptitude, regardless of social standing, background, or wealth.
*Astania: A small country compared to the two other empires that stand southwest of The Empire of Honos, bordering it from the north and at its west, the great elven forest. As they have formed a great relation between both, they are the most peaceful, opting for trade growth and open to diversification.
*Nomad: Many tribes that chose to stay nomadic for different reasons, be it exiled people or mixed races coming together.
"Note: You will be able to only speak the language of your starting location; other languages must be acquired."
"Weird. So I won’t be able to talk to NPCs that do not speak the same language as my character? That's a first. Well, the two obvious choices are The Empire of Honos and Astania. The second one sounds like the better choice. The Empire of Honos seems a bit scary, like a higher difficulty, so I’ll go with Astania then."
"For gender, I do like the gear choices for females in games, but for the first run, I’ll go with male. Now it’s the skills page."
"Test your luck and roll the dice from 1 to 100, then allocate those points to the skills you like. Know that better and stronger skills require more points, and you are allowed only 1 title, so choose wisely with what your luck allows."
"Ok, roll... 79. Nice, that's not too bad. But can I maybe roll again? Hmm, doesn't seem like I can. Do I have to make a new character to roll again? That seems decent enough for now. So what are the choices I have?"
Titles:
"Master Strategist=50": You can navigate complex situations with precision, turning obstacles into opportunities through calculated and decisive action (boost to ...).
"Champion of the Arena=35": Conquering arenas with strength and vigor, you possess amazing combat prowess (boost strength, vitality, agility, and charisma).
"Dragon Slayer=85": Defeating a dragon is no small feat, but you are meant for it (boost strength, vitality, agility, charisma, wisdom, and intelligence).
"Hero," "Shadow Walker," "Herald of Hope," "Legendary Bard," "Legendary Beastmaster," "Jack of All Trades," "Legendary Blacksmith": All of them sound amazing, but the lower you go, the simpler and cheaper they become. However, the "Jack of All Trades" :one looks interesting: "People spend decades mastering a craft, training a skill, or studying a subject, but not you. You can acquire any but never master them." Okay, that does sound kind of overpowered and fun. I'll go with it for now.
Skills:
Fighting=7: Better competence in unarmed combat.
Swordsmanship=7: It is the art of wielding a blade with precision, finesse, and mastery.
Dodge=5: Bigger chance to dodge skill shots or arrows, also works in close-range combat.
Throwing=4: Better accuracy when throwing.
Marksmanship=8: High skills in precision shooting and better proficiency with projectile weapons.
Stealth=6: Moving silently and avoiding detection, whether through shadows or crowds.
There are quite a lot of these skills, way more than the titles. I'll go with "Swordsmanship" for 7 points.
Wait, I can choose what tier I want? It is in tier 1 by default. I don't have enough points to make it tier 2, so I'll go for more skills. Then, I'll go with "Luck." It never hurts to be lucky, and "Appraisal." The rest of the cheap ones sound useless.
Why would someone pick "Pie Baking," "Rock Skipping," "Juggling," or "Knuckle Cracking"? That sounds like a waste of points. Okay, next should be character customization.
This looks weird. There is no model for the character; it is just a fuzzy silhouette. What a shitty game. It doesn't let you customize your character? this makes me want to quit. I don't want to get a random old man as a character. Argh! Might as well finish while I'm at it. I have already put so much time into the last pages. Better not waste all that time for nothing.
Okay, next are equipment and stats. All of them are at 1. That's a bit low. How do I change them? The plus seems to be gray.
If I go back to the last screen and remove Appraisal, then return to the character one.
Now I’m able to make some changes it seems, but only up to a couple of points. Not really worth it. I'll stick with Appraisal. Okay, that should be it. "Create character."
*WARNING: You have not put a name, please insert a name before continuing.*
Hm, what name should I choose? I'll go with the usual "p**sy~Slayer96." "Create character."
*WARNING: The name must not contain any special characters or numbers.*
Okay, maybe "p**sySlayer." "Create character."
*WARNING: Name must not contain profanity or any type of trigger.*
Come on now, that’s no fun. Triggering is half of the fun. I'll just go with "Kyle." Shitty game. "Create character."
*Your character is being created. The game will start in 05:00:00. Please enjoy.*
What? There is a timer before I can play? I knew this shit was fake. What a load of crap. My fault for falling for a dumb clickbait ad. Better go to sleep before I break this f**king screen.
