While engrossed in enjoying the show, Kyle heard a familiar voice from behind him.
"Woken by the noise, ain’t ya?"
"Yeah, they are quite loud, but it is fun to watch."
"Glad you're enjoying it. Want dinner? We have stuffed cabbage and pea croquettes."
"I’ll take one of each and one ale, please."
"Coming right up."
The two dishes came quite fast; both looked and smelled amazing. The stuffed cabbage was filled with a mixture of beef, pork, brown rice, and fresh herbs and spices Kyle had never tasted before.
The second one came with a bit of salad; the croquettes themselves were made of meat and some bread dough from what he could tell—a tasty snack with the mug of ale while appreciating the show.
After a while, Kyle felt a bit bloated from all the food he had eaten and decided to take a walk, leaving the rowdy and full inn. He strolled around, clearing his mind and finding a small hill near a church-looking building where he could see the river and the endless green fields illuminated by two moons. He sat down.
"I didn’t even notice it, but there are two moons? The normal white and a red one? How does that even work?… What am I doing here? I was just trying a stupid ad on a dump porn website, and now I’m in a different world with a quest system and skills."
Looking at his belt where the rusted sword dangled and feeling a tinge of regret.
"I even had to… I never had to kill in my life aside from a couple of roaches… I keep telling myself it was me or them, but what if it wasn’t? Will I have to kill again if I live here? What about my origins? Someone is sure to start asking questions. I don’t even know what lie I can tell. Where did my caravan come from? Damn it, I need to ask Gretta if there is a library around here. I didn’t see one, but maybe I can get a map or something… And what money do I have to buy it with… I have enough for a couple more days, but then I’m done. I need to find a job fast if I want to survive. Okay, one thing at a time, Kyle. One thing at a time. First thing tomorrow, I have to find myself a job or at least look for one before I run out of money."
Set on what to do under the illumination of the newly discovered moons, he opened his screen to look at the attributes he didn’t have time to look at before.

Sitting there, pondering on the stack of ever-growing questions he keeps having, Kyle didn’t notice when a figure suddenly approached him and tapped his shoulder.
"Hello there.” General Kenobi - sorry, had to do it.”
Screaming his lungs out and jumping from his seat, then stumbling on the ground, Kyle saw a man with long hair and pointy ears who was laughing heartily.
"I’m so… I’m so sorry, friend, but that scream was too much."
Feeling embarrassed, Kyle stood up and cleared his throat.
"It's okay, I just was deep in thought and wasn’t expecting anyone."
"Yeah, you were indeed. I called you a few times before touching you, but you did not hear me. My apologies once again. Let me introduce myself. I’m Zylavor, the village alchemist,” he said with a delicate half-formal bow, “and who might you be, young friend?"
"I'm Ky.. I’m Kyle. Nice to meet you, Zyl… Zylavor?."
"Just call me Zyl; that’s what people around here call me. Sorry to intrude on your thinking time."
"No, it’s okay. I just found it by chance. It was quiet, so I just took a small rest."
"I’m fond of this location myself. You see, I come here almost every night to think too. Didn’t expect someone else would beat me to it. Beautiful view, isn’t it?"
"It is beautiful."
"If you don’t mind me asking, what got you so deep in thought that you weren't able to hear someone calling you? Is it... love perhaps?"
"NO, no, nothing of that sort. It’s just that I’m broke and I’m in need of a job, so I was just contemplating my options."
"Ah, I see. Have you come up with a good solution then?"
"Sadly, no. Nothing yet."
"May I offer some help?"
"Yes, of course."
"Maybe you should start by looking for something compatible with your class or maybe skills. What skills do you have? Oh, look at me getting carried away with curiosity. You don’t have to answer that."
"No, it’s okay. I don’t mind. I don’t have anything great. I have swordsmanship and Appraisal."
"Appraisal? That’s a really useful skill. You can check with the Adventurers Guild here, but I don’t think you would get any big jobs since we are not near any dungeons or danger near these parts. I’ve been wanting to find an apprentice for a while now, but to not jump ahead, maybe we start with a part-time job in the shop and see what you can do. If you are willing to learn, nothing fancy. You will be a helper, carrying things and doing small tasks. And most of all, you will be doing a lot of learning. Your Appraisal skill would be really helpful as an alchemist if you add knowledge to it. The pay would be 5 silver per week. Food and lodging are on you; studying materials on me. This can be changed if you show an aptitude for the job. What do you say?"
"Are you sure about it? That would be a great help. Thank you, Zyl."
"Don’t worry about it. Like I said, I’m looking for an apprentice myself. You start tomorrow at 8. Don’t be late. The shop’s name is 'Potions and Runes.'"
"I won’t. Thank you again, Zyl."
"See you tomorrow then. I let you have my spot for tonight, but don’t get too used to it,” he said, winking, then turned around and walked away.
"Did I just secure a job that easily? Is this the effect of the luck skill?"
