Chapter 2 : creepy crawler

*00:00:00*

*welcome to the world of Eligorth *

……..

"Huh, what the fuck? Why is it so bright? I never open the curtains. Did I leave the light on? Damn, it's also too noisy. Since when were there so many bird noises in the middle of the city? Let me put the pillow on my face."

Touches around to locate the pillow and feels grass.

"Wait, grass? Opens his eyes What is going on? Why am I in the middle of a forest? Did I drink too much yesterday that I lost my mind? Maybe I'm still asleep and this is just a dream…"

He tries to get up and then feels a pain in his back.

"Ahh, my back hurts. Damn that mattress."

But on a closer look, he sees that he was lying on a patch of uneven dirt full of small pebbles.

"Okay, if this is a dream, how is it so real? Is it one of those so-called lucid dreams that you can control? I did try some meditation for it, but nothing worked… Okay, if it is that, I need to remember how to wake up from it. What was it again? First, try to sleep. Can't do that here. I don't think I will be able to sleep. Then try to call for help? HEEEEEELP! CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? HEEEEEEEEELP? I NEED HELP, PLEASE…"

"Damn it, my throat hurts from all that screaming, and it does not seem to help. Okay, next was to close and open your eyes multiple times, but that sounds so stupid. Ahhhh, why am I complaining? Just try it."

While immersed in closing and opening his eyes, he hears the sound of hooves stomping around and sees a big brown silhouette at the corner of his eye.

"Huh, what is it?"

Towering before him stood a colossal boar, easily ten feet in height. A strip of blond hair adorned its head, accentuating the sheer size of its massive frame. With three pairs of tusks — two large ones at the front followed by two smaller pairs — the creature exuded a formidable presence. Its enormous, blood-red eyes glared furiously at Kyle, conveying its irritation at being disturbed in its territory. As it pawed the ground with its hoof, poised to charge, Kyle felt a surge of fear grip him.

"Wait, is that a giant boar? FUCK, I NEED TO WAKE UP NOWWW, PLEASE."

The moment the boar started to charge, his fear took over, and he started to run, not daring to look back. The sound of trees getting crushed and falling told him that the moment he gets hit, it is imminent death, but does one die when he is in a lucid dream? That was not a question he wanted to know the answer to.

"Shit, I'm getting out of breath. Am I going to die in the middle of nowhere? Damn it, wait, I hear something in front of me. Maybe it is people and civilization. Yes, yes, I'm not going to die..... Damn it."

The moment he breaks through the bushes and the thick forest canopy toward the sound and light he saw, he sees a cliff. He tries to stop running, but it is already too late. The speed he was running at was too great. Trying to stop, his legs gave out, and he started tumbling, hitting his head and then falling while blacking out in the process.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

Feeling a cold rush through his body, he wakes up, his body half submerged in the water, head up, shocked and afraid. He struggles to run away but finds himself not able to and starts splashing around in the water. Looking around, he finds himself going down a river and swims out of it to the right bank, feeling exhausted, out of breath, and cold.

"What the hell is going on? I remember being chased by a giant boar and then seeing a cliff. Did I just survive falling from a cliff?"

Thinking about the impending doom that he just faced not too long ago, he just lays there, thinking about what is going on when his head starts hurting him.

"Aghh, my head hurts like a bitch. Wait, is that blood? Can I bleed in a dream? Damn it, this is not a dream, is it? Did I get kidnapped? I saw a movie not too long ago about kidnapped people thrown in a forest to survive being hunted by rich assholes and getting a prize if they survive... but they gave them information about what is going on and some weapons... or is it some kind of twisted TV show prank, but I never signed for something like that though... Thinking about this is getting me nowhere, I need to figure out where I am because this is no dream."

Looking around, he seems to still be in a forest spanning on both sides of the river that he just got out of.

"I'm still in this damn forest, and it looks like it's getting dark. Okay, calm down. Panicking and screaming will only get me into trouble like what happened before. I don't know what's in this damn forest, and I don't really want to find out. Okay, from all the survival shows and documentaries I've seen, first thing I need is water. Luckily, I'm right next to a river. Next is to find shelter and make a fire. I also need to dry myself, or I will catch a cold."

He started looking around for a spot to call shelter for the night while gathering some branches and stones. Finding a big enough tree to call home for the night, he makes a makeshift campfire with the stones he gathered and starts rubbing wood together to start a friction fire. Trying again and again, but he can't muster enough strength to keep at it. Wet, cold, and on the brink of darkness, he starts getting frustrated. But then he notices the few leaves he found got wet while he carried them in his hands, thanks to his soaked tracksuit. Taking it off and rummaging through his pockets, he finds a snack bar and the Swiss Army knife his dad gave him when he was a kid, promising to go camping after he came back from the work trip.

He gathers a few more leaves and takes off the ferro rod's detachable part and ignites the fire. Taking off his clothes and sitting down to warm up, having a plan and moving kept his mind off the current situation that he is in, but now that he's sitting, the fear and helplessness of the situation dawned on him.

"Okay, I need to figure out a way to get out of here. I don't know what I can face here. I hope that boar was some kind of hallucination, but what if it is not? What if a tiger of that size sees me or something else? I'd be dead before I know it. I need to find a way to get back to civilization."

Lost in thought and after munching down on the bar he had, exhaustion took over his body, and he fell asleep.

Feeling something tickling him on his legs, he tried to shake it off.

"Stop it, that tickles. I want to sleep a bit more."

Seeing as the tickling persisted and went up, he struck with his hand to make it stop. But that lasted for only a couple of seconds, and then a jolt of pain kicked him up from his sleep.

"Damn it, that hurts. What is it... is that a giant f****g centipede?"

Seeing the creature on his leg swirling along it, his heart almost stopped, and he started flailing in a panic. But the creature kept moving up, burning his hand on the embers of the fire in his panic. He sees the rocks he arranged the night before, Kyle grabs it and starts hailing it on the centipede's head, hitting himself multiple times in the process until it loosened itself and released his leg, twitching on the ground. Not taking any chances, he hit its head again and again until no more movements could be seen from it. But a feeling of dizziness took over him. Looking at his legs, he saw a bite mark on it with blood dripping from it.

"Damn it, of course it is poisonous. That's just my damn luck... I guess this is how I die, huh..."

sad and lamenting on his closing death a **Ding** sound snaps him from his dark thoughts.
