Conversation between girls in the bath

Even though it was night, I went outside after being called by a senior to meet up, but no one was there. What was that all about? Ugh, today was just one stressful thing after another. Living as a girl isn’t easy.

"I'm back!"

I returned to the girls' dorm and opened the door, only to see a girl from the neighboring class walking by in her underwear.

"Wah!" I shouted, and she replied with a straight face, "Welcome back."

"No, no, you can't just walk around in your underwear like that!"

"Why not? There are no guys here. We're all girls, right?" she asked, looking for agreement.

"No, it’s still bad manners, even among girls! It’s just not proper!"

We went back and forth like this for a bit, with me looking away the whole time, until a senior student came over.

"Hey! Don't tease the serious ones. Put on some clothes!"

"Okay," the girl said, and left.

So, I was being teased. Some girls passing by glanced at me. Did I do something wrong?

As I flustered, two girls from a class I didn’t recognize appeared at my sides.

"Hey, want to take a bath together? You always go late at night when no one’s around, don’t you?"

"I... I don’t want anyone to see me naked. Sorry."

"Oh, come on! We’re all girls. No one cares!"

It was an unusually busy day for invitations.

"Sorry, but I’d really rather bathe alone. I’m more comfortable that way."

The two girls exchanged surprised looks before leaving.

Then, another classmate appeared and suggested, "Let's play Werewolf."

"I don’t really know the rules."

"It’s okay! We’ll teach you step by step."

They explained the rules as we played.

"Wow, you’re terrible at lying!"

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Sorry..."

It’s a game where you have to lie, and my lack of gaming skills became obvious.

"That’s okay. It just shows you’re honest. That’s a good thing."

"R-Really?"

I wasn’t sure if I was being complimented or not.

"Oh, by the way, that girl, Lala, said some bad things about you. Called you ugly and creepy."

"Lala would never say something like that!"

I immediately defended her, the words leaving my mouth without thinking.

"Sorry for being so rude," I apologized quickly.

The other girls in the room looked like they were deep in thought. Did I say something weird?

"You're a good person."

"Yeah, you are."

Were they talking about me?

"Okay, you can go back to your room now."

Just as quickly as they had invited me, they shooed me away. I had no idea what was going on.

When I returned to my room, Lala beckoned me over.

"Want to get some fresh air? Let’s go look at the night view."

I followed her outside, and we hiked up a small hill. The high school and girls' dorms were located in the mountains, and from up here, you could look down at the city. The night view was beautiful.

"It’s such a pretty city. So different from the Demon Realm," Lala said with awe in her voice.

"What’s the Demon Realm like?"

"It’s dark and gloomy. That’s why demons tried to invade the human world. I understand how they felt, but of course, the humans were angry. Who wouldn’t want to protect such a beautiful place?"

Lala’s eyes sparkled like gemstones as she gazed at the city. She took a deep breath and slowly turned her gaze toward me.

"No matter what happens, I’ll always be on your side. If something were to happen to you..."

She trailed off mid-sentence. What was she trying to say?

Just then, her phone buzzed, lighting up her pocket.

"Oh, it’s a magic message. Let’s see... Ah."

She read the message with a strange expression, as if she were both crying and laughing at the same time.

"Three people are moving out of the dorm next week."

"Three? What happened? Why?"

What in the world was going on in the dorm? A falling out over the dorm leader?

"It’s just three! It’s because of your good behavior and your character! People like you!"

Lala wiped away what might have been tears.

What was this all about? Had the dorm leader regained some sort of respect?

"We’ll always be together from now on," Lala said, placing her hands on my shoulders and squeezing them tightly.

"Uh, yeah. I mean, isn’t that a bit much just for looking at a night view?"

Lala’s acting strange.

Later that night, I was soaking in the bath as usual when I heard the door open.

W-Who is it? What should I do? I might accidentally see someone naked!

"Hey!"

"S-Senpai!"

A third-year senior entered, covering herself with a towel, but I still felt uncomfortable.

"I’ll leave."

"No need. Let’s have a chat, girl to girl."

"O-Okay."

Overwhelmed by her presence, I reluctantly stayed in the bath.

"How are you adjusting to dorm life?"

I nodded silently.

"Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm Mido. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always fought with boys. Even here at school, they call me the boss, or prince, or even gorilla. I’ve never had a shred of femininity."

She laughed heartily, like a man.

"I-I see."

"Doesn’t matter if you’re a boy or a girl, right? You’re practically a princess to me, though. You're so girly."

"N-No, I’m not."

"Take the compliment. There are lots of girls who want to act feminine but can’t. You’re lucky. I think you have a natural gift for being ladylike."

"T-Thank you."

"That modest reaction is adorable. Do you like someone? Doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or girl."

"Eh?"

"You look like someone who’s in love. You don’t have to say, though."

She laughed heartily again.

"If anyone tries to mess with you, let me know. I’ll take care of it."

With that, Mido-senpai left the bath. After a whirlwind of a day, I finally fell asleep.
