Cobalt Princess Awakens

"Session time!"

Tenuto’s voice echoed. I gripped my saxophone and readied myself. Tension surged through my body as I focused my magic into my fingertips. I prepared to cast a fire spell and took a deep breath.

A moment of silence, then I unleashed the fiery melody. The scorching sound rushed toward the witch, but this time, the rhythm was off. The perfect coordination we had before had vanished. My fire spell fizzled out, failing to reach the witch, and died out just before her.

"Heh heh. Children shouldn't play with fire."

The witch cackled ominously, clutching an oboe in her hand. Its sound was like ripples spreading across a still pond, both beautiful and icy. From the sky, tiny shards of ice began to rain down. Pain shot through me, and I reflexively covered my head, but the fine ice particles slipped through my fingers and continued to fall.

"Swing rhythm, Largo!"

Tenuto’s voice rang out again. If we could pull off the magic we succeeded with earlier, we could do it again. I tried to conjure both wind and fire magic once more. But again, our rhythm was off, and the spell failed miserably.

I braced myself for the witch’s counterattack, but she hesitated. It seemed we’d still managed to affect her a little.

"An accidental chord," Tenuto said, and it suddenly made sense. The slight discord in our rhythm had created an unexpected harmony, forming a unique sound that still carried magical power.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

However, it wasn’t a decisive blow. The witch began playing her oboe again, preparing for her next attack.

"This spell will dissolve all the proteins around you. Once the casting is complete, you will simply disappear," the witch coldly declared. Dangerous notes poured from her oboe, and I felt a cold sweat start to drip from my skin.

It’s over. My body will dissolve. Despair gripped my heart. But in that moment—suddenly, I heard the rhythm of a snare drum. The crash of a cymbal followed. I turned around to see Forte—Forte in my body—had awoken and was creating a holographic drum set through magic, keeping the beat.

Forte! The Forte in my body had woken up and was generating a drum rhythm with a magical hologram.

"My name is Largo. Sorry for the wait. Let’s cast session magic together again, and quickly, match my rhythm!"

Wow! He’s acting all confident in my body. It’s embarrassing, but also a little cool. He seems way more manly than I ever do.

With the drums keeping a steady 4-beat rhythm, I joined in with my fire spell. Tenuto followed with the piano.

When the rhythms of all three of us aligned, a massive fiery tornado engulfed the witch.

She was clearly feeling the damage, panting heavily.

"You…! I won't go down alone! I'll take you all with me!"

The witch, with her last bit of strength, began playing the oboe, preparing for a self-destruct spell. Her body started to glow a bright golden color.

"She’s going to blow herself up! We need a barrier spell!" Forte, now in my body, took charge.

"It’s no use! We won’t make it in time! Save yourself!"

Tenuto, trying to protect me, suddenly tackled me to the ground.

For a brief moment, I thought he was being kind, but then I heard a soft "sniff, sniff" sound. Is he... smelling my hair? I moved my knee slightly and felt something soft and squishy between my legs. Oh no. This guy is aroused! He’s seeing me as a woman!

Despite the situation, I couldn’t help but feel a flutter in my chest. I’m a man, but... but...

Noooooooo! I screamed inside my mind.

At that moment, I noticed my body glowing a deep cobalt blue, like the gemstone.

"What’s happening to me?" I said, my voice trembling, and the witch shuddered in response.

"The Cobalt Princess... has awakened...? Now I really can’t let you live!"
