Isekai Roulette
The Amethyst Realm

The Amethyst Realm

The Announcer frowned. Another death, already?

She supposed it wasn’t that strange. This transmigrator had pretty weak abilities. Though, this was just meant to be a warm up before the real [Isekai Roulette] began.

The ball spun round the table, landing on Amethyst. Really? thought the Announcer. This one’s going to be short again. After all, what terrible luck would a transmigrator have to have to go to Amethyst so early?

[Isekai Roulette] is in effect.

[You have been reincarnated in Amethyst.]

Simon groaned, his head groggy from another death. How many fucking times will I get reincarnated?! He shook his fist angrily at the sky. Speaking of the sky, there was one now.

It wasn’t normal though. The sky was a light tint of purple, like lavender. The clouds were yellow, as if it was sunset. A thick pink mist hung in the air. Simon extended a hand upwards but it felt like his body was moving through honey.

Standing up, his body felt sluggish and tired. Just a little rest, it whispered. Simon ignored it. How could he fall asleep now, when there was a new world to explore?

While the last world had killed him in brutal ways, he had high expectations for this one!

Due to your familiar, [Leechikins], being linked to your soul, they have been transferred with you.

Simon grinned as Leechikins popped out of his flesh. “Hey there buddy. Don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”

Though… the hand Leechikins had popped out of wasn’t burning with hellfire anymore. That would be helpful to know. If he kept getting isekaied. That wasn’t exactly a given.

Conclusion: [User Simon] will be granted [Amethyst] type and keep [Ruby Emerald] type.

Query: Is this too lenient?

Immediate conclusion: Affirmative.

Attempting to repeat previous punishment: experience granted by [User Simon] is forcibly adjusted to 5,000,000,000 and all entities are alerted of this change as well as his location constantly.

Furthermore, [User Simon] will not gain [Amethyst] type.

Umm? System? Surely this is too harsh of a punishment? Simon could still feel the sensation of his bones crunching under the force of that piranha’s maw. It was not something he wanted to repeat.

System authority has been challenged by [User Zero]

Blatant ignorance of the rules has been found!

System authority will be revoked for 24 hours unless deemed by system to be absolutely necessary.

No punishment? Thank you… Zero? User Zero? Dunno who that is. Simon was glad that he had someone to cover his back. Besides Leechikins of course.

Error! Annoying [User] bitching about things they can’t fucking comprehend.

System authority has been revoked. Punishment will not be applied.

[User Simon] has become a [Ruby Emerald Amethyst] type.

As an [Amethyst] type, you have been granted access to the [Egos] system!

[Point Preservation] has evolved due to the [Egos] system! It will now prevent tampering of [Egos] as well!

A random [Ego] has been added due to your transmigration status!

[Negative Infinity] is interfering.

Error! System authority has been revoked.

Heh.

Query: is it absolutely necessary that [User Simon] be punished for exploitation?

Immediate conclusion: Affirmative.

System authority has been forcefully reclaimed due to system judging use of authority to be necessary.

Looking back, it should’ve been obvious to Simon that there was such an obvious loophole to the rules, but at the moment, he became consumed in despair.

[Negative Infinity] has interfered.

New ego: [Unlucky Gambler].

Uh… what’s an ego? Sure, Simon knew it was probably referring to a mind for this definition, but he didn’t see how an ego counted as a power.

[Unlucky Gambler] (Miserable)

This is your first ego! Fucking congratulations. You happy now, you dipshit?

I usually explain what an ego is here. I won’t.

Warning! Rules have been tampered with!

Hey, shut the fuck up!

Applying punishment.

FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

An ego is basically a spiritual companion that follows you around, offering advice when necessary! Make sure to have a good relationship with them, or they might not want to help you!

Fuck that hurts!

Usually, the average person can get the spirit of a person who passed away long ago, like an ancient swords master or an archmage who once ruled the continent.

You got a gambler who lost every bet she made and got killed by loan sharks. So much to fucking learn there.

Simon was having mixed feelings. On one hand, he had delighted in the pain of the system and was happy to get another friend. On the other, he was so definitely fucked.

He hoped he wouldn’t get killed by piranhas again this time.

“Hey,” a voice said from behind him. “Are you the one that got my ego?”

Whipping his head around to see who was talking to him—though it wasn’t very fast because of the honey-like fog—he saw a woman standing behind him.

She had black hair, was maybe in her early twenties, and was smoking. Other than that, no significant features.

He nodded enthusiastically. “Are you my new friend?”

She gave him a strange look. “No.”

What he noticed was that she was transparent. He could see right through her.

“Why are you transparent?” he asked, because deducing things himself sounded like too much work.

She cocked her head at him. “Have you never seen an ego before?”

“Nope!” he chirped.

She sighed. “Don’t tell me you’re a transmigrator.”

“Wow, how did you know!”

She pinched the bridge of her nose, crouching down. “It’s so fucking obvious from the way you act. Unlike everyone who lives in this world, you’re not depressed. Also, your arms.”

“My arms?”

To show, she rolled up her sleeves. Simon fell backwards on his butt, surprised. There were feathers. Her arms were wings. In fact, the sleeves of her shirt were quite baggy, but he’d assumed that to be a style choice. Instead, it was to easily fit her wings.

“You must be a human or a human adjacent species. The arms of your shirt are way too loose. We don’t get humans here.”

After a moment of opening and closing his mouth on repeat, Simon said, “What are you?”

“A siren.”

It was true, Simon realized, upon further inspection. While the woman’s hands were normal, her feet were the clawed talons of a bird.

“So what’s your name?” asked Simon.

The siren looked around at our surroundings. “As much as I would love to continue this enlightening conversation, it’s almost night.”

“Oh, should I set up camp or something? I don’t really know how to do that.” Simon looked around, rubbing his arm awkwardly.

“You otherworlders really don’t fucking know anything, do you? I mean, if we don’t find shelter soon, we’ll encounter wildkin.”

“What the fuck are wildkin?”

Her expression darkened. “You don’t want to know.”
