Chapter 21 – Invocation

Chapter 21 – Invocation

What an interesting vampire... Hugo thought as he glanced at Elizabeth's ankle.

He couldn't believe that the artifact he had been researching for years had no effect on her regeneration.

Even though he had many questions in his head, he had to keep his word.

Raising his hands, the wizard said:

"I'll let you pass, calm down."

Though still upset, Elizabeth lowered her weapon when she saw the wizard giving up.

"I hope you take responsibility for that," she said, pointing at the shattered carriage behind her, a result of the attack she had made to let the horses escape.

The wizard wondered how she could be so calm while observing the vampire's defenseless posture, even though his griffins were about to attack her again.

Where does she get so much confidence from?

The wizard pondered as he made a gesture that caused the griffins to stop before they hit her. Immediately afterward, they returned to their positions as if nothing had happened despite the damage sustained in the fight.

The wizard slowly descended to the ground until he was beside Elizabeth.

"Aren't you scared?" she asked mockingly, glancing at him.

"I don't think you'll kill me in front of my student," the wizard replied with a smile, pointing towards the carriage.

This bastard...

Elizabeth thought, annoyed as she began to smile.

The wizard, with a focused expression, extended his hands toward the carriage. His fingers trembled slightly with the effort of channeling the magic, causing a bluish glow to emerge from his palms, radiating a soft light.

Then, like a whisper in the wind, the first flashes of light began to take shape. Ethereal silhouettes of horses slowly emerged from nowhere, outlined clearly as the magic materialized them.

They were ghostly, ethereal, and translucent horses, with flowing manes and sparkling eyes that reflected the light of the magic.

Their presence was ethereal and mysterious, as if they were creatures from another world barely materialized in this plane of existence.

Invocation magic!

Maria was fascinated by witnessing this scene; it was the first time she had seen something like this.

And Aria...

Her look was the same!

Indifference!

Doesn't this girl ever get surprised by anything?

Maria thought as she moved slightly away from Aria.

Elizabeth approached the horses, releasing the scythe in her walk, which disappeared before it touched the ground.

The driver, with an indifferent look despite everything he had witnessed, grabbed some ropes created by Elizabeth with her own blood.

Maria, watching from the front window of the carriage, noticed that the driver's skin was a purple hue.

A ghoul! How did I not realize before!? She screamed in surprise inwardly.

A few seconds later, her mind answered that question by recalling what she had done throughout the journey.

Throughout the journey, she didn't want to look Elizabeth in the face, so she looked out the window next to her, as Elizabeth was sitting right at the window she was now watching...

That's why she never saw the driver!

Crying internally in her head as Elizabeth entered the carriage before it resumed its journey, the plan to ask the driver for help to escape was ruined.

Well... another plan goes to waste... Maria thought, depressed, while Aria kept her gaze on the wizard.
