66 // Receiving Quite A Large Payment

The two of them left their waiting room. Luo Yun turned the corner to take care of some business as he just waited outside.

In the silence he could hear his the rhythm of his heart. He closed his eyes and focused on calming breathing. Energy and excitement surged through his body, but he needed to stay in touch with reality and keep his emotions under control. He won so easily simply because he countered Bjorn before the battle even began. The way he fought was crude and easily exploitable. His large size and frightening presence was what made him a tough opponent for most people, but Aleister wasn't like most. He and other more experienced fighters had confidence in their abilities. Some large and angry man wouldn't stop them.

"Not bad," Syn said.

"Thanks for the book in the first place. If it wasn't for that, this fight probably wouldn't have ended so quick."

"No need to thank me, the manual only goes over the basics, and you would have been able to win without it anyway," Syn said. "Besides, while it might seem revolutionary to you now, won't help you as much when it comes to more demanding opponents."

"You didn't use a spear to fight, did you?" Aleister asked.

Syn scoffed at the very idea. "Of course not. Who would purposefully choose to use such an unwieldy weapon?"

"See, this is why you don't understand the genius behind the techniques you gave me." Aleister shook his head and folded his arms open. "With only six stances I can attack, defend, and deal with every opponent that isn't a master of their weapon, while I'm still at an intermediate stage."

"What is your definition of the term, master?"

"Ok, its not like actual mastery, its just, you've practised and trained for so long, you're better than what most people can hope to achieve, because there's always a higher level to reach," Aleister explained. "This only applies to Non-Weavers because if I did that would be dumb, as I would have no understanding of what I'm talking about. And, I'd rather not sound like an idiot."

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Some ships have already set sail," Syn said before vanishing.

Luo Yun had come back with Myra and Kyoko at his side. In each of their hands, they carried a small, leather bag that was overstuffed to the point of causing deformations. Aleister's initial thought process led him to believe that they were bags full of coins, but the jagged edges did not line up with that belief.

"And your payday has arrived," Luo Yun said as he threw one of the five bags to Aleister.

Aleister opened the bag up. The materials inside shocked him. Inside were an assorted array of red, blue and green gems in different shapes and sized. "H—how much is this?"

"About two-thousand gold," Luo Yun whispered after scanning the surrounding area.

"Sheesh." Aleister let out a cold breath and quickly stuffed it inside his bag, which was also getting pretty full at this point.

However, Luo Yun shook his head. "Unfortunately, this will be your biggest payout for a long time since most of this is from the gamble these unassociated people took."

"It's more than good enough for me," Aleister said. "But now I need to make sure I don't spend all of this at once."

"That is the hard part," Luo Yun said with a sigh.

"This much money probably isn't even that much to you."

"It still is a good amount of gold to have since I've invested most of my money in larger purchases for my dojo and other businesses," Luo Yun said.

Kyoko tossed the bag in her hand to Aleister, which he caught, but still surprised him. "For obvious reason, I don't need this at all."

"This is mine though, you can't have it," Myra said, the bag clutched against her chest.

"Don't worry, I don't need it—for now," Aleister teased. "Now we go eat!"

"We better be invited too," Kyoko said.

"The more the merrier."

Kyoko crossed her arms, satisfied. "Then, were are we going? You can choose anywhere, I'll take care of the bill."

"We hadn't decided yet," Aleister said. "And, Luo Yun was going to treat us."

"No, I said I was going to treat you," Luo Yun said in correction. " Although I still would have paid for everyone even if Kyoko didn't offer."

"Since you don't know where you want to go, and I am paying, anyone have a problem if they went to the place of my choosing?" Kyoko asked.

"I'll eat anything," Aleister said.

"Same," Myra said too.

Luo Yun shrugged. "I don't have a problem with it either."

"Then," Kyoko grew a mischievous look on her face, "Follow me!"
