Prologue: a happy child

Prologue: a happy child

"GOOD MORNING BIG BROTHER!" Jack felt a crushing weight on his abdomen as his younger brother smashed into his chest with a metal rod, Jacks's eyes bolted open and his instincts took control of him.

He grabbed his little brother no older than five years old by the throat and threw the little shit onto the ground "SHUT THE FUCK UP! IT'S A WEEKEND SO WHY ARE YOU WAKING ME UP YOU DICKWAD" Evidently their small tussle between siblings upset their mom.

"LIAM AND JACK HOFFMAN THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL TOLERATE YOUR CRAP YOU ARE BOTH GROUNDED NO BEE BALL SOUP FOR EITHER OF YOU" Mary Hoffman disliked their minor conflict a fair amount.

"But it was his-"  Liam tried speaking up but it was for naught, "NO BUTS".

all the poor siblings could do was move to their time-out room and wait for their mom to leave,

after their mom left "It worked, it really worked!" the duo couldn't contain their excitement but they were smart so they kept their whispers to a minimum.

"We don't have to eat that disgusting bee ball soup!" the joy was written all over their faces. "We are soooo smart" Liam was evidently proud of their ingenious concoction of a plan.

"I must correct you brother for your simpelton language is disappointing given your age and mental development the proper lexicon to use to express your pride is to construct your expression in the form, our intelligence is unrivaled throughout history." Jack capitalized on his brother's young age and limited vocabulary to communicate a message that was equal parts agreeing as it was insulting.

Liam ignored Jack's prevocational tone and questioned "So what do we do now", Jack replied, "Well now we go on our phones...." at that moment he realized he fucked up.

minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year, decade to decade, century to century, millennium to millennium.

Every second more painful than the last the brothers were on the brink of insanity then finally after a universe heat death something happened *knock knock knock, as the door creaked open anticipation filled the room.

"Hey boys I have something to talk about." Liam was unfamiliar with their mother's tone of voice but it was all too familiar to Jack after all that was the worst day in his 14 years of life.

"I'm pregnant", Mary announced.

"didn't dad die two years ago" Liam's words were like a hammer on all emotions in the room except one.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAHAAHAHHAAHAHAHHAAHHAAH AAAAHHHHHHH AHAHAHAH" JACK LAUGHED.

after a good beating, the two apologized, and ten months later "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

"She is such a beautiful baby girl" one of the nurses tried sucking up to my mom which made sense now that she was higher up in the government than most could dream of.

As Mary hugged the new baby girl Ariana, Liam, and Jack were outside discussing what to buy her.

All of a sudden Liam heard rumbling and then he blacked out.

When he woke up Jack was on top of him with a piece of rubble on his back "Live a long life brother." with those final words Jack lifted the rubble with his bloodied body and died.

That was the day of the great earthquake of 2056 in America and also the day Liam became an orphan.
