“Hmm… what if I?” Callan walked to a tree and slashed his hand across it.
*Krkrkr
The tree started sliding till it completely fell to the left. “Oh God. Fuck the spear, I got a magic weapon.” Callan felt instant guilt for his weapon and opened his inventory. He took out his spear and coated it with magic.
He walked to another tree and- “Wait!” He stopped before he could hit the tree. He imagined a small sphere at the end point of the spear with a little mass in it. It's just a little sphere the size of a thumb.
The moment the orb made contact with the tree, it exploded. The tree fell to the ground, leaving a crescent shape on each blown side. “Okay… I guess I have to train with the spear now… hmm… a spear is a better weapon… the easiest to learn… and the hardest to master.” Callan looked up at the sky and pointed his spear up.

“Took a couple of hours, but I’m back!” Callan danced himself to his campfire. He opened his inventory and took a long piece of log at the far side of the campfire. “Mirai… can you teach me how to use the spear?” He sat down facing Mirai.
[No]
“Figures. Hahahaha! I found many cool things I could do with magic Mirai.” Callan opened his inventory behind him.
He stretched his left hand out and instantly stabbed it with a rock. Placing all the strength to his right hand, it broke when it landed on his left arm.
“Magic Armor.”
Callan took another piece of rock and held it in his left hand. He formed an imaginary knife and started to carve the stone into a spearhead.
“Printer… oh well, actually, I haven’t thought of a conventional name for it yet. Magic Printer is kind of just… too far. Though…”
He took a random branch from his inventory. Grabbing the spearhead with his magic thread, he tied it around the branch. “A spear… it falls apart if I don’t focus on it though. So… not really a conventional weapon.”
His hand retracted the spearhead and spun it in the sky. “The magic threads could be a weapon though… I just… kinda don’t want to abandon the spear. You know, humanity’s first weapon. Well, my first weapon at least.”
Callan stretched his arms up. “You know… I haven’t peed or pooped yet for the past few days… is that normal?”
[Yes]
“So… like… it… wow… so I can actually just never poop and pee again?”
[Yes]
“Huh. I wonder if that’s the feature of this white void or the isekai part, 'cause I have never seen an isekai Main Character poop or pee either, even if they are stuck in a dungeon without toilet paper or a bidet.”
Callan had spent countless hours on the second floor absorbing all the mana he could. He stood up and walked to Mirai.

“Wow! Time check please.” He said like some sassy little bitch.
[44:56:30]
“That was like some five hours. Only 3 stats? Okay… okay… I get it… it really won’t be fucking easy.” Callan held his hands high up like a guilty prisoner as he ambled backward.
“I’m going to sleep again, and tomorrow, I’ll take a bath… with my really wet underwear. I’m so disgusting… I fucking need clothes asap.”
The moment Callan woke up, that was the last day he was allowed to rest. Or at least that was the last day he could actually laze around. He had already explored his powers, made an alphabet, and most importantly, ignored his training once again.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Let’s be honest, it isn’t easy to change. A resolution for a new year is almost impossible to even accomplish… not because it’s hard, but because you don’t want to change. Neither does Callan, but life isn’t going to let that happen. The white void won’t let that happen.
“Puwa!” Callan erupted from the bottom of the lake. “Okay, that was cringe.” He looked down on his wiggling feet and a smile slowly formed on his face. It was just like yesterday that he didn’t even know how to swim. Now, he could do it while he’s asleep.
Callan walked out of the pond and took leaves to dry his body with. He then tied his shirt around his waist again and picked up his spear on the ground. Wrapping both his arms around the spear, he hugged it tight and kissed it.
“You… will bring me victory… Ester.” It was a reluctant decision, but that name was the first to come into his mind, literally.
Callan doesn’t know spearmanship, he doesn’t know how to actually fight other than the simple principle of ‘if someone attacks, you dodge and then attack.’. But a real fight isn’t that simple, a real fight doesn’t mean an exchange of attacks, it is simply who kills the other first.
He did a simple stab into the tree. He retracted it and slashed above. It got halfway through until the spearhead had gone past the tree and pushing any further would break the body of the spear.
The spear slid to the other side of the tree, free from anyone’s hand. Callan walked to the other side and took his spear back up. He then turned instantly and stabbed the tree again. It was a mundane set of movements.
What was the point of doing all that? Nothing. It was the movement of a man who does not what he’s doing filled with the laziness that… if he doesn’t know, what’s the point cause he will never know.
“Fuck…” He sat down without letting go of his feet, playing with the grass using his spear. Callan placed his hand on his knee and laid his head on his palm.
“I get a sword… I mean, you swing down, you swing on the side, and you stab. Those are like the tree's most basic thing for a sword. Though it’s possible for a spear too, it has a very long handle that can’t really cut… it can just cause an impact. Might as well fight with a stick at that point. Huh, I just randomly thought about the monkey king and his stick.”
Callan stood back up and just started to swing against a new tree. Mindless swings and attacks with no purpose other than to land your hit.
“So… a spear is like a staff but it can pierce with its pointy head. Okay.” He was forming his own learnings of the spear, but that wasn’t going to be his final thoughts, as it was all useless when it came to a weapon he just couldn’t betray his spear for.
“I can also apply magic on the point or around the entire spear. I don’t even have to look at it. Oh! That’s why magic supported by an object is better than magic with no base is simply cause if there is a medium, I can imagine that medium producing that magic. Just like my hands!”
Callan stabbed the end of his spear on the ground like a soldier guarding a gate. “Though, I can just imagine another spear on my left hand.” He stabbed, easily piercing the tree with no effort.
“Well… I guess if I am under pressure I can also just use the actual spear better as it needs less focus or thinking about. I can just put in my head ‘coat the spear with magic’ and it’s that easy. Though at the same time having a weapon that can be any form is really good… Fuck!” He threw his imaginary spear, however it just disappeared as soon as he let go of it.
“Also! Magic is invisible to the eye so it is such a good weapon! Ahhh! But the spear!” Callan just couldn’t decide. One was about his weird form of dignity and the actual usefulness of a weapon with a lot of variety. That was the same reason he could never easily let go of his novels, even if they don’t do good or are called trash, that sense of ‘I’ve already started it, I shouldn’t stop, is what he goes through.’.
But, he could easily do it if some mental damage happened to him or just some hints of being disowned by his parents. Well, he doesn’t have his parents anymore, so letting go of his spear might not be an easy choice.
“Fuck! Fine! Magic may be better! But it’s useless if I don’t master the weapons that magic will form! So for now! For now! I’ll practice the spear!”

“I have not slept for another 20 hours… but I will not shut my eyes till I beat the third floor again!” Callan clutched his hands, arm curled to his chest, while he looked brightly at the sky.
“I’ll be able to clear the third floor, right Mira?”
[Yes]
Callan was stuck like a snail hugging the pedestal Mirai was on. “I’m not scared… okay… just… love you Mirai.”
[Yes]
“You can… put me… in the… third floor now…” Callan talked with a pause in each phrase.
“Wait!” He yelled, even though there was no point due to not even being able to see Mirai’s hands or whatever she used to send someone to another floor.
Mirai didn’t respond, but Callan knew exactly that was just a huge sigh. “Okay… fine… I can do it… now.”
Callan was back on the third floor.
