The night in Seoul had never been silent. The constant annoyance of traffic and the accumulated chatter of the people walking the streets in addition to the few ads. Although Seoul had a crowded population, the buildings and the alleys provided opportunities for a successful assassination.
How many gangsters and criminals had Seo Hyun killed? Dozens? Hundreds? She didn't know. All she knew was that the targets had never been the one she wanted. She kicked the corpse in front of her and it turned to face the starless night sky with an expression of fear. Rainwater dripped onto Seo Hyun's dark green hair, washing off the blood on her mask and dagger, carrying its molecules into the drain where it would soon play a role in stinking up the sewers.
Seo Hyun's face couldn't be seen, but Song Jook knew that his best friend was pissed beyond reason. Noona said that if they became the best assassins in Korea, they would get to be sent on the mission to assassinate the SSSS. It had been a long time since the JDC had become not only the best assassins in Korea but in the entire world as well; and they hadn't been allowed in finding the SSSS to commence assassination. However, Noona had only sent them on pointless random gangster assassinations. There was no way that Seo Hyun was not pissed. However, somewhere in Song Jook's heart, he was glad that Noona didn't send the JDC to assassinate the SSSS. That would be like leading five kids straight to their deaths… literally.
"Let's go back…" Seo Hyun ordered and disappeared into the night, the others following suit.
Song Jook stayed behind, however. The rain drizzled harder, but Song Jook paid it no mind. What was on his mind was only Seo Hyun and her smile. That Seo Hyun died with her mother on that day. He wanted to see Seo Hyun smile again; that was the only reason why he supported her and joined the JDC despite not wanting to kill. Kill the SSSS and he could get Seo Hyun back. But he knew that if they did end up chasing after the SSSS, there would be a very low chance that they would return alive. He wouldn't be able to see Seo Hyun smile if she died…

"Yo, Song Jook," a female voice sounded from above.
Song Jook looked up and saw Seo Hyun hanging upside down from the broken ladder like a spider hanging down its web. She wasn't wearing her mask anymore, showing her dim yellow eyes that were once bright with joy. Her mouth was covered by a black handkerchief that Song Jook sewed up for her birthday. Song Jook no longer felt the raindrops and observed the sky; it was now covered by a clear roof, the droplets slowly falling down it, occasionally colliding with each other and combining themselves to make a bigger droplet… "What are you still doing here? I'll catch up, you know," Song Jook grumbled, ashamed that the girl was the one holding the umbrella and not him.
"When you say that, that makes me want to stay with you more, you know?" Seo Hyun asked in a teasing manner.
Song Jook sighed and rubbed his chestnut-colored hair, grumbling that he knew of what Seo Hyun just said. There was silence, only the sound of rain making contact with the umbrella and the streets. "Do you really want to do this?" Seo Hyun broke the silence.
Song Jook was about to put up a front when Seo Hyun replied to Song Jook's words before he even spoke them, "You know you don't need to do this right? This is between me and the SSSS. It doesn't involve you. Why do you still force yourself to be part of this group of wanted assassins?"
Song Jook hesitated. After a few moments of silence, Seo Hyun said that she was leaving and was about to throw herself up the apartment when Song Jook called her. Seo Hyun canceled her jump and went back to her hanging position only to be welcomed back with a kiss…
A few seconds had passed and their lips parted. "We're lovers, right? My problems are your problems and your problems are mine as well. So, wherever you are, whatever you're doing, I will always stay by your side. Is that a good enough reason to still assist you in assassinations?"
Seo Hyun couldn't speak; her heartbeat had finally slowed down and her shocked expression turned into a loving smile. "Yeah. That is a good enough reason…" Seo Hyun replied while pulling down her handkerchief from her mouth and returned Song Jook's kiss. She had wished that she would kiss Song Jook like this with the sound of rain and the moon gazing upon them. She just wished that it wouldn't be when they were assassins…
