Chapter 1
A warm day met the eyes of Aybram Ryder as the city’s weather moderators began to steadily raise temperatures for the summer months. Controlled breezes flowed through the city streets and across the skyrails as Aybram began his walk to school. Yes I know walking, what a boring fellow he is, in times like these where skyrails shoot and whizz through the sky and between the layers of the city. Oh, of course he is a resident of the slums of this sprawling metropolis and therefore takes the beaten up and worn down public elevators to ascend the layers and get to school.
Aybram wore nice clothes even being from the slums as he is, his mother would never let him wear a single thing that had a rip or tear as it embarrassed her to think of her son looking like he belonged where they lived. Schools had much remained the same from the past few centuries, except for taking a few extra years as the life expectancy grew, as they could not get the people to agree to neural implants in schools.
Man, this is getting a bit crowded with the boring stuff so why don’t I take us to the good part when everything went to shit and young Aybram had the great honor of meeting me.
When the clock struck… like 3:41 while he was on his way back home the world began to shake. That is only from his perspective though as in reality even astronauts and moonmen could feel it. Amidst the quaking of their galaxy an unease settled down onto every being within its boundaries. The death of the gods. Well the death of their gods. The shadows of these gods, or their believers as you would say, could not bear the weight of hearing the sounds of their dying gods and with the dispersal of the gods' stored energy became Fallen Shadows, monsters brought about by an influx of a higher energy and the subsequent insanity most suffer.

When the spacial rumbling ended we made our grand appearance. I say we, though I my haps have snuck into the micro-dimension behind the big guys. It all depends on phrasing… Anyway so us big guys having killed the long renegade gods made ourselves known to the apes of this dimension, humanity they called themselves. Announcing the death of the renegade gods and the soon to be absorption of their rogue micro-dimension into the Greater Galactic Universe.
But gods do love their games, I would know. So we announced that we would offer the abilities granted for becoming one of our shadows and a time limit in which their newly transplanted galaxy would be isolated from the rest of the Universe in order to amass some sort of power before foreign influences arrive. Of course the weaker souls died when they heard our voices and many swaths of cityscapes had collapsed but hey we’re totally making up for it with this.
Now here’s the really fun part, of course this escapade was done by this group of gods to gain favor with some of the Elder Gods. Yet they really wanted to take this entire galaxy as their shadows without sharing. Truly heartless, that’s why I followed them to steal some from under them. Sadly without as much power as them my offer only found its way to a few and of them only a young boy named Aybram Ryder accepted my kindness.
I say sad but this is gonna be fun. One against the many, I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
Yros, God of Mountains
Yes mountains, don’t you dare look down on me puny hu-man.
For it is by my will that I share this story of my mighty apostle with you.
Let’s both hope he doesn’t die too soon though.
